Airi Suzuki and Ryota Katayose cast in TV Tokyo drama “Oshi ga Joshi ni Narimashite”

Airi Suzuki and Ryota Katayose are cast in new TV Tokyo drama series “Oshi ga Joshi ni Narimashite.” The drama series is based on the webcomic of same name by Yuki Azuma & Ito Morinaga. The romantic-comedy screenplay has Airi Suzuki play Hitomi Nakajo, who is an OL and an otaku when it comes to stage actor Toma Kiryu. To her surprise, he becomes her boss at her place of work.

“Oshi ga Joshi ni Narimashite” first airs October 4, 2023 in Japan.

Mikako Tabe cast in Fuji TV drama “Ichiban Sukina Hana”

Mikako Tabe is cast for a lead role in Fuji TV drama series “Ichiban Sukina Hana.” The drama series features an original screenplay and will revolve around four people who come different backgrounds, but become friends. Kuranosuke Sasaki, Kyohei Takahashi, & Asuka Saito are cast in TBS drama series “My Home Hero” and movie version “My Home Hero.” The drama series and movie is based on manga series “My Home Hero” by Naoki Yamakawa. The screenplay for the drama series and movie will have Kuranosuke Sasaki play Tetsuo Tosu. He is an ordinary husband who likes to write mystery novels as a hobby. His adult aged daughter gets involved with an unscrupulous man affiliated with a crime organization. This leads Tetsuo Tosu to make a shocking and impulsive decision to save his daughter.

“My Home Hero” will first air October 24, 2023 and the movie version will be released spring, 2024.

Hana Sugisaki cast in movie “52 Hertz no Kujiratachi”

Hana Sugisaki is cast for the lead role in movie “52 Hertz no Kujiratachi.” The movie is based on 2020 novel “52 Hertz no Kujiratachi” by Sonoko Machida and directed by Izuru Narushima (“Solomon’s Perjury 1: Suspicion“). The novel is the winner of the 18th Japan Booksellers’ Award in 2021. For the movie version, Hana Sugisaki will play Kiko Mishima. She leaves behind her family that abused her and moves to seaside town. There, she meets a 13-year-old boy that experienced similar abuse as she did.

Filming for “52 Hertz no Kujiratachi” is currently ongoing and the movie will be released March, 2024 in Japan.

Kanata Hongo & Kana Osawa cast in TV Tokyo “Mei no Mei”

Kanata Hongo and Kana Osawa are cast in TV Tokyo drama series “Mei no Mei.” The drama series features an original screenplay by Yasuhiro Ogawa and directed by Yasuhiko Shimizu & Ryoma Ouchida. Both of the directors previously worked together in 2020 Fuji TV drama series “Pension: Love Is Pink.” For “Mei no Mei,” Kanata Hongo will play 32 year old Ozu who was born and raised in Tokyo. After his sister and his brother-in-law die in a car accident, he decides to temporarily move in with his niece, played by Kana Osawa, in Fukushima Prefecture.
