Haru Kuroki cast in movie “Aimitagai”

Haru Kuroki is cast for the lead role in movie “Aimitagai.” The movie is based on 2014 novel “Aimitagai” by Tei Chuj, with screenplay adaptation written by Masahide IchiiKiyoshi Sasabe, and Shogo Kusano. Shogo Kusano (“The Longest Photo in The World“) also directed the movie. Also cast for movie are Aoi Nakamura, Sawako Fujima, Naomi Nishida, Tomorowo Taguchi, Tamae Ando, Hana Kondo, Tamaki Shiratori, Mutsuo Yoshioka, Matsu, Takeshi Masu, Jun Fubuki, and Mitsuko Kusabue.

“Aimitagai” will be released November 1, 2024 in Japan.

Trailer and poster for movie “We Don’t Know Love Yet”

Trailer and poster added for live-action film “We Don’t Know Love Yet” starring Ryusei Onishi, Airu Kubozuka, Nagisa Saito, & Riko. Movie is based on manga series “Koi wo Shiranai Bokutachi wa” by Minami Mizuno and directed by Mai Sakai. The movie’s theme song has also been revealed as “Koisuru Hikari” by boy band “Naniwa Danshi.” The theme song is also featured in the main trailer. The trailer begins with Ryusei Onishi stating “Thinking back, that’s when everything might have started to change.”

“We Don’t Know Love Yet” will be released August 23, 2024 in Japan.

Teaser trailer 4 added for SBS drama series “Good Partner” starring Jang Na-Ra & Nam Ji-Hyun. The drama series that is set at a law firm Daejung behins with actor Pyo Ji-Hoon stating “When I say that I am a lawyer of a large law firm, people think that I recite cool lines and show off like in a drama series. But in reality, I’m just a poor office worker.” Captions in the teaser trailer states (0:07) “Drama? The reality is worse!” and (0:28) “Poor lawyers’ real work life!”

“Good Partner” first airs July 12, 2024 in South Korea.

Kim Sun-Ho and Go Youn-Jung cast in Netflix drama “Can This Love Be Translated?”

Kim Sun-Ho and Go Youn-Jung are cast for lead roles in Netflix drama series “Can This Love Be Translated?” (working title). Also cast for the drama Sota Fukushi, Lee E-Dam, & Choi Woo-Sung. The romantic-comedy screenplay is written by sisters Hong Jung-EunHong Mi-Ran, who wrote such popular drama series as “My Girlfriend is Gumiho,” “The Master’s Sun,” and worked with lead actress Go Youn-Jung in “Alchemy of Souls.” The drama series is also features popular Japanese actor Sota Fukushi performing for the first time in a South Korea drama series.

“Can This Love Be Translated?” will be available to stream sometime next year.

Suzu Hirose cast in movie “Yuki Teka Heranu”

Suzu Hirose is cast in movie “Yuki Teka Heranu.” The film is based on a true story involving a love triangle between actress Yasuko Hasegawa (born 1904 and died in 1993), poet Chuya Nakahara (born 1907 and died 1937), and critic Hideo Kobayashi (born 1902 and died 1983). Suzu Hirose will play Yasuko Hasegawa. She is loved by both men who were close friends.

“Yuki Teka Heranu” will be released February, 2025 in Japan.

Main cast announced fir MBN drama “Bad Memory Eraser”

Kim Jae-Joong, Jin Se-Yun, Lee Jong-Won, & Yang Hye-Ji are cast in MBN drama series “Bad Memory Eraser” (literal title). For Kim Jae-Joong, “Bad Memory Eraser” will be his first starring role in a drama series since 2017 KBS2 drama series “Manhole.” “Bad Memory Eraser” will feature a romance screenplay revolving around a man played by Kim Jae-Joong who undergoes a memory eraser at a brain research center.

“Bad Memory Eraser” will first air August 2, 2024 in South Korea.

A movie version of “Tarot” was released in South Korea on June 14, 2024 that features 3 stories from the upcoming drama series. Sosuke Ikematsu cast in movie “Honshin”

Sosuke Ikematsu is cast for the lead role in movie “Honshin.” Also cast in supporting roles are Ayaka Miyoshi, Koshi Mizukami, Taiga Nakano, Min Tanaka, Go Ayano, Satoshi Tsumabuki, and Yuko Tanaka.  The film is based on 2021 novel “Honshin” by Keiichiro Hirano (“After the Matinee“) and directed by Yuya Ishii (“The Moon“). Story for “Honshin” will examine positive and negative aspects of rapidly developing technology like AI and VR, through main character Sakuya Ishikawa played by Sosuke Ikematsu. He is unable to get past the death of his mother and asks a developer to create his mother in a virtual setting.

“Honshin” will be released November 8, 2024 in Japan.

Drama series “Serendipity’s Embrace” to air on tvN

Upcoming drama series “Serendipity’s Embrace,” starring Kim So-Hyun, Chae Jong-Hyeop, Yun Ji-On, and Kim Da-Som, is now set to air on tvN from July 22, 2024 in South Korea. The drama series will move into tvN’s Monday & Tuesday 8:50 PM time slot after the conclusion of “The Player 2: Master of Swindlers.” “Serendipity’s Embrace” features a romance screenplay that is based on webcomic “Wooyeonilgga?” by Nam Ji-Eun & Kim In-Ho.
