Casting & teaser trailer for movie “Shoutai”

Casting announced and first teaser trailer added for suspense movie “Shoutai.” Announced as cast members for the film are Riho Yoshioka, Shintaro Morimoto, Anna Yamada, and Takayuki Yamada. The identity of the actor who will play main character Kaburagi has not yet been revealed. The film is based on 2020  novel “Shoutai” by Tamehito Somei, which was previously adapted into 2022 WOWOW drama series “Shoutai” starring Kazuya Kamenashi.

“Shoutai” will be released November 29, 2024 in Japan.

Teaser trailer and poster added for Disney+ drama series “The Tyrant” starring Cha Seung-Won, Kim Sun-Ho, Kim Kang-Woo, & Jo Yoon-Soo. The drama series is scripted and directed by Park Hoon-Jung (“The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion“).

Teaser trailer for movie “Saint Young Men”

First teaser trailer added for comedy live-action film “Saint Young Men” starring Kenichi Matsuyama and Shota Sometani. The film is based on manga series “Saint Oniisan” by Hikaru Nakamura and directed by Yuichi Fukuda (“Black Night Parade“). For the film, Kenichi Matsuyama will play Jesus and Shota Sometani will play Buddha. They enjoy life together in Tokyo, when trouble suddenly brews.

“Saint Young Men” will be released December 20, 2024 in Japan.

First teaser trailer for JTBC drama “Romance in the House”

First teaser trailer added for JTBC drama series “Romance in the House” starring Ji Jin-Hee, Kim Ji-Soo, Son Na-Eun & Minho. Premise for the drama series follows a divorced father (Ji Jin-Hee) as he tries to woo back his ex-wife (Kim Ji-Soo) and his two adult aged kids.

“Romance in the House” first airs August 10, 2024 in South Korea (takes over JTBC’s Saturday and Sunday 10:30 PM time slot after “Miss Night and Day“).

Jin Young cast in drama series “Miss Granny”

Jin Young is cast in drama series “Miss Granny” starring Jung Ji-So. Drama series is a remake of 2014 movie “Miss Granny” starring Shim Eun-Kyung and Na Moon-Hee. Jin Young also appeared in the original 2014 movie “Miss Granny,” but apparently plays a different character this time around. The drama series version will have Jin Young play Daniel Han. He used to be the leader of idol group Ignis and now works as leading producer at an entertainment company.

Filming for “Miss Granny” has already finished, but broadcast network and air date has not yet been revealed.

Trailer and poster added for movie “All About Suomi” starring Masami Nagasawa. The film is written and directed by Koki Mitani (“Once in a Blue Moon“). New supporting cast members for the film have also been announced and they are Koji Seto, Emma Miyazawa, and Junki Tozuka. The film will have 5 men, who all loved the main character Suomi (Masami Nagasawa), meeting and remembering her after she disappears. Their memory of her all differ in major ways.

Trailer and poster added for movie “Living in Two Worlds” starring Ryo Yoshizawa. The English title of the movie refers to the main character Dai Igarashi played by Ryo Yoshizawa, who grew up as a CODA (child of deaf adults) and grew up in two different world. The film is based on the 2021 autobiographical essay “Ro no Ryoshin kara Umareta Boku ga Kikoeru Sekai to Kikoenai Sekai wo Ikikishite Kangaeta 30 no Koto” by Dai Igarashi and directed by Mipo O (“The Light Shines Only There“). Caption on the poster states “Feelings that can’t be conveyed are overflowing.”

Sadawo Abe & Mana Ashida cast in movie “Cells at Work”

Sadawo Abe & Mana Ashida are cast in live-action film “Cells at Work.” They will join already announced lead cast members Mei Nagano and Mei Nagano. The movie is based on manga series “Hataraku Saibou” by Akane Shimizu and directed by Hideki Takeuchi (“Fly Me To The Saitama“). For movie “Cells at Work,” Sadawo Abe will play single dad Shigeru Urushizaki. He lives a very unhealthy lifestyle enjoying things like junk food, cigarettes, and alcohol. Mana Ashida will play his teenage daughter Niko Urushizaki. She lives a very healthy lifestyle. Within their bodies are cells working hard to protect them. The first teaser trailer is also released and can be viewed at AsianWiki.

“Cells at Work” is now scheduled for release December 13, 2024 in Japan.
