Release date for Hong Sang-Soo directed film “The Day After”

Release date for Hong Sang-Soo directed film “The Day After” is now set for July 6, 2017 in South Korea. Movie had its world premiere at this year’s Cannes Film Festival in the competition section. Story for the film follows the boss (Kwon Hae-Hyo) of a publishing company who had flings with his employees. After his wife (Kim Sae-Byuk) discovers a love letter at their home, she goes to his office and (mistakenly) assumes a new employee (Kim Min-Hee) is the woman from the letter.

Trailer for movie “Hello, Goodbye”

Trailer added for upcoming movie “Hello, Goodbye” starring Minori Hagiwara, Sayu Kubota and Masako Motai. Movie is the second film directed by Takeo Kikuchi (“Dear Deer“). Story for “Hello Goodbye” follows two troubled female teenagers. The two girls are not friends, but they meet an elderly woman and eventually try to find her first love for her.

“Hello, Goodbye” had its world premiere in the Japanese Cinema Splash section of the 2016 Tokyo International Film Festival and will have its general release July 15, 2017.

Takanori Iwata and Hana Sugisaki cast in live-action film “Perfect World”

Takanori Iwata (‘J Soul Brothers’ and ‘EXILE’) and Hana Sugisaki are cast in new live-action film “Perfect World.” The movie is based on manga series “Perfect World” by Rie Aruga and directed by Kenji Shibayama. Story for “Perfect World” follows interior design employee Tsugumi (Hana Sugisaki). She meets her first love from her high school days Itsuki Ayukawa (Takanori Iwata). He is now an architect and wheelchair bound.

Filming for “Perfect World” began June 2nd and will finish in the middle of July. The movie will be released sometime next year in Japan.

Jun Matsumoto, Teruyuki Kagawa & Fumino Kimura cast in TBS drama series “99.9 Criminal Lawyer Season II”

Jun Matsumoto, Teruyuki Kagawa & Fumino Kimura are cast in new TBS drama series “99.9 Criminal Lawyer Season II.” Jun Matsumoto and Teruyuki Kagawa will reprise their respective lead male character roles from season 1 of “99.9 Criminal Lawyer.” Fumino Kimura will play new lead female character Maiko Ozaki. Her character is a former criminal court judge. Due to a case, she quit her job and stayed away from the law field. To help a friend, she visits Madarame Law Firm. There, Atsuhiro Sada (Teruyuki Kagawa) asks Maiko Ozaki to work at their law firm and she accepts.

“99.9 Criminal Lawyer Season II” first airs January, 2018 in Japan.

Han Ye-Seul offered lead female role in MBC drama series “No Sex and the City”

Han Ye-Seul has been offered a leading female role in upcoming MBC drama series “No Sex and the City” (working title). If Han Ye-Seul accepts, she will play a lead female character in the drama series. Story for “No Sex and the City” will follow the lives of three 35-year-old single women.

“No Sex and the City” first airs September, 2017 (takes over MBC’s Monday and Tuesday 10PM time slot after “King Loves“).

Yeo Jin-Goo and Lee Yeon-Hee cast in SBS drama series “Reunited Worlds”

Yeo Jin-Goo and Lee Yeon-Hee are now cast in upcoming SBS drama series “Reunited Worlds” (literal title). The genre of the drama series is fantasy-romance. For drama series “Reunited Worlds,” Yeo Jin-Goo will play naive, 18-year-old Sung Hae-Sung. Lee Yeon-Hee will play 31-year-old Eom Hyun-Soo. Somehow these two were born the same year and former childhood friends.

“Reunited Worlds” first airs July 19, 2017 in South Korea (takes over SBS’ Wednesday and Thursday 10PM time slot after “Suspicious Partner“).

Song Seung-Heon and Go Ara offered lead roles in OCN drama series “Black”

Song Seung-Heon and Go Ara have been offered the lead roles in new OCN drama series “Black.” Currently, both performers are “positively considering” the offers. If Song Seung-Heon accepts, he will play a detective named Black who is possessed by the Grim Reaper. If Go Ara accepts, she will play a woman able to see the shadows of death. These two characters work together to save lives even though they are breaking the rules of Heaven.

“Black” first airs October, 2017 in South Korea (takes over OCN’s Saturday and Sunday 10:20PM time slot after “Save Me“).

Ryusei Yokohama cast in live-action film “Honey”

Ryusei Yokohama is cast in upcoming live-action film “Honey” starring Sho Hirano & Yuna Taira. The movie is based on manga “Honey” by Amu Meguro and directed by Koji Shintoku. For the live-action film, Ryusei Yokohama will play supporting character Ayumu Misaki. He is a classmate of Taiga Onise (Sho Hirano) and they become friends. He has a sharp tongue, but cute appearance.

“Honey” will be released sometime in spring, 2018 in Japan.
