Ikusaburo Yamazaki & Rin Takanashi cast in live-action TV Asahi drama series “Aino Mating Agency Inc”

Ikusaburo Yamazaki & Rin Takanashi are cast in live-action TV Asahi drama series “Aino Mating Agency Inc” (literal title). The drama series is based on manga “Aino Kekkon Soudanjo” by Jun Yagi. Story for the drama series revolves around a matchmaking agency that has a 100% success rate in getting their clients married. Shingo Aino (Ikusaburo Yamazaki) works as the director at the matchmaking agency. He relies on his background as an associate professor of ethology when counseling his clients. His assistant is Sister Elizabeth (Rin Takanashi).

Atsuro Watabe & Kanna Hashimoto cast in Fuji TV drama series “Keishicho Ikimono Gakari”

Atsuro Watabe and Kanna Hashimoto are cast in new Fuji TV drama series “Keishicho Ikimono Gakari.” The police-animal drama series is based on four novels by Takahiro Okura. Also cast in supporting roles are Shohei Miura, Tomoharu Hasegawa, Ren Ishikawa, Denden, Sho Kiyohara, Susumu Terajima and Atsuko Asano.

In the drama series, Atsuro Watabe plays Detective Tomozo Sudo. He is demoted to a division that takes care of pets whose owners are suspects or missing. Kanna Hashimoto plays Police Constable Keiko Usuki. She works in the same division as Tomozo Sudo. They work uniquely together to solve cases.

Lee Yeon-Hee offered lead role in SBS drama series “Reunited Worlds”

Lee Yeon-Hee has been offered the lead female role in upcoming SBS drama series “Reunited Worlds” (literal title). Currently, Lee Yeon-Hee is considering the offer. Story for the drama series will revolve around the romance between an 18-year-old man and 31-year-old woman.

“Reunited Worlds” first airs July 19, 2017 in South Korea (takes over the Wednesday and Thursday prime time slot currently held by “Suspicious Partner“).

Kim Ju-Hyeok and Chun Woo-Hee cast in tvN drama series “Argon”

Kim Ju-Hyeok and Chun Woo-Hee is cast in new tvN drama series “Argon.” The drama series is set at investigative reporting TV program “Argon.” Kim Ju-Hyeok will play Kim Baek-Jin. He is the anchor, reporter and leader of the “Argon” program. Chun Woo-Hee will play Lee Yeon-Hwa. She joins the “Argon” team as a temporary reporter and struggles to land a permanent job there.

Masaki Okada and Fumino Kimura cast in movie “Ito-kun A to E”

Masaki Okada and Fumino Kimura are cast in new movie “Ito-kun A to E.” The film is based on 2013 novel “Ito-kun A to E” by Asako Yuzuki and will be directed by Ryuichi Hiroki. This is the first movie adaptation of a novel by Asako Yuzuki, but two of her past novels were adapted into 2013 NHK drama series “Beauty in Grief” and 2015 NHK drama series “Akko’s Lunches.” Story for the film has Masaki Okada playing Seijiro Ito. He is handsome man, but also has a huge ego. He dates five different women (A to E). Fumino Kimura will play Rio Yazaki. Her character is a once popular screenwriter who is trying to revive her career. She is also one of the women dating Seijiro Ito.

“Ito-kun A to E” will be released sometime during spring, 2018 in Japan.

Main poster and teaser trailer #3 added for upcoming JTBC drama series “Woman of Dignity” starring Kim Hee-Seon & Kim Sun-A. In the upcoming drama series, Kim Hee-Seon plays Woo A-Jin. She leads a perfect life the daughter-in-law of a wealth family. Kim Sun-A plays Park Bok-Ja. She is a mysterious and ambitious woman who wreaks havoc on Woo A-Jin’s life.

New teaser poster and commentary trailer for movie “The Battleship Island”

New teaser poster and commentary trailer added for upcoming movie “The Battleship Island” starring Hwang Jung-Min, So Ji-Sub & Song Joong-Ki. The highly anticipated summer blockbuster film is directed by Ryoo Seung-Wan. The new teaser poster depicts Korean people trying desperately to escape from Battleship Island. The caption on the poster states “Year 1945 Japanese colonial era, Hell Island is worse than Hell, we want to live.” The commentary trailer (unfortunately not English subtitled) features commentary by Ryoo Seung-Wan, Hwang Jung-Min, So Ji-Sub, Song Joong-Ki, Lee Jung-Hyun and Kim Soo-Ahn as well as footage from the film.
