More casting announced for Bong Joon-Ho directed film “Parasite”

Now cast in upcoming Bong Joon-Ho directed film “Parasite” are Lee Sun-Kyun, Cho Yeo-Jeong, Jang Hye-Jin, Choi Woo-Sik and Park So-Dam. They join already announced lead actor Song Kang-Ho in the movie.

With Bong Joon-Ho’s background of directing sci-fi’ish films like “The Host” or “Snowpiercer” and a title of “Parasite” one may assume his next film is a film about creatures, but the film is actually a family drama. The film also doesn’t have any parasites in the literal sense. Story for “Parasite” will follow two families that resemble each other, but also look different. Lee Sun-Kyun and Cho Yeo-Jeong  will play a married couple in one family. They have a high school aged daughter and elementary school aged son. Casting for their kids will take place through auditions. Meanwhile, Jang Hye-Jin, Choi Woo-Sik and Park So-Dam will play the wife, son and daughter of the other family headed by Song Kang-Ho’s character.

Filming and post-production work for “Parasite” will take place in 2018 and the film will be released sometime in 2019.

Kim Ji-Hoon & Kim Joo-Hyun cast in MBC drama series “Rich Family’s Son”

Kim Ji-Hoon & Kim Joo-Hyu are cast for lead roles in new MBC drama series “Rich Family’s Son” (literal title). They will join already cast supporting performers Lee Gyu-Han and Hong Soo-Hyun. The drama series will air on Sundays at 8:45 PM with two consecutive episodes.  Kim Ji-Hoon will play Lee Gwang-Jae. He comes from a rich family and is immature. His father dies and leaves behind a lot of debt which Lee Gwang-Jae attempts to pay off. Kim Joo-Hyun will play Kim Young-Ha. She supports Lee Gwang-Jae as he tries to pay off his father’s debt. Lee Gyu-Han will play major supporting character Tae-Il. He works at a franchise fast company and has a crush on Kim Young-Ha. Hong Soo-Hyun will play major supporting character Kyung-Ha. She works at a fashion company and has feelings for Lee Gwang-Jae.

“Rich Family’s Son” first airs March, 2018 in South Korea.

Kim You-Jung cast in JTBC drama series “Clean With Passion For Now”

Kim You-Jung is now cast for upcoming JTBC drama series “Clean With Passion For Now” (literal title). The drama series is based on webcomic “Ildan Ddeugeobge Chungsohara” by Aaengo. Ahn Hyo-Seop (‘One O One’) has been offered the lead male role and he is considering the offer. Song Jae-Rim has also been offered a major supporting character role and he is considering the offer.

For “Clean With Passion For Now,” Kim You-Jung will play Gil O-Sol. She works various part-time jobs and is looking for a regular full-time job. She wears tracksuits all the time and is always busy because of her part-time jobs. Gil O-Sol then begins work at a cleaning company run by Jang Sun-Gyeol (Ahn Hyo-Seop if he accepts his offer). Song Jae-Rim has been offered the role of Choi-gun. He is an original character to the drama series and not found in the original webcomic.

“Clean With Passion For Now” first airs April, 2018 (takes over JTBC’s Monday and Tuesday 11PM time slot after “Eulachacha Waikiki”).

Seo In-Guk offered lead role in tvN drama series “Hundred Million Stars From the Sky”

Seo In-Guk has been offered a lead role in tvN remake drama series “Hundred Million Stars From the Sky” (literal title). The drama series is a remake of 2002 Fuji TV drama series “Hundred Million Stars From the Sky” starring Takuya Kimura and scripted by Eriko Kitagawa. If Seo In-Guk accepts, he will team up with drama series director Yoo Je-Won for the second time. They previously worked together in 2014 tvN drama series “High School King of Savvy.” For Seo In-Guk this is also his first acting offer since being discharged early from the military due to a health issue.

“Grand Prince” to air from March 4, 2018

Ep.1 of CSTV drama series “Grand Prince” starring Joo Sang-Wook, Jin Se-Yun and Yoon Si-Yoon, is now scheduled to air March 4, 2018 in South Korea. The drama series will air on Sundays at 10pm and show 2 episodes consecutively. Although CSTV has aired drama series on weekends in the past, “Grand Prince” is the first CSTV drama series to air on Sundays only. Story for the drama series will tell a love triangle story set in historical times.

Main trailer and poster for movie “Last Winter, We Parted”

Main trailer and poster added for movie “Last Winter, We Parted” starring Takanori Iwata, Mizuki Yamamoto, Kazuki Kitamura, Takumi Saito and Reina Asami. Movie is based on 2013 novel “Kyonen no Fuyu, Kimi to Wakare” by Fuminori Nakamura. Story for “Last Winter, We Parted” follows writer Kyosuke Yakumo (Takanori Iwata) as he researches a murder case for his next book. Movie is directed by Tomoyuki Takimoto.

“Last Winter, We Parted” opens March 10, 2018 in Japan.

Actor Jeon Tae-Soo passes away

Actor Jeon Tae-Soo died January 21, 2018 at the age of 34. According to his talent agency, he has suffered from depression for years and his exact cause of death has not been released. He is also the younger brother of actress Ha Ji-Won. Ha Ji-Won has cancelled all upcoming appearances, including her scheduled promotional appearance for the release of Chinese film “Manhunt.”

Kim Myung-Min, Kim Hyun-Joo, Ra Mi-Ran, cast in KBS2 drama series “Miracle That We Met”

Kim Myung-Min and Kim Hyun-Joo are cast for lead roles in upcoming KBS2 drama series “Miracle That We Met” (literal title). Also cast in a major supporting character role is Ra Mi-Ran.

In the drama series Kim Myung-Min plays Song Hyun-Sil. He is the youngest bank branch manager of the top Korean bank and he is arrogant. He dies in a car accident, but he awakes with the spirit of another person in his body.

Kim Hyun-Joo plays Sun Hye-Jin. She has a husband and two children. Her life seems perfect, but she wants a divorce. Ra Mi-Ran will play Jo Yeon-Hwa. She is has a bright personality and a strong will to survive.

“Miracle That We Met” first airs April, 2018 in South Korea (follows “Radio Romance” in KBS2’s Monday and Tuesday 10PM time slot).
