Nana Seino & Tori Matsuzaka cast in live-action film “Whisper of the Heart”

Nana Seino & Tori Matsuzaka are cast in live-action film “Whisper of the Heart.” The film is based on manga series  “Mimi o Sumaseba” by Aoi Hiiragi and directed by Yuichiro Hirakawa (“Erased“). The manga was adapted into 1995 anime film “Whisper of the Heart,” which was released by Studio Ghibli. Filming will begin mid-February, 2020 and finishes March, 2020.

Plot synopsis by AsianWiki: Shizuku Tsukishima (Nana Seino) is a 3rd grade middle school student. She likes reading books. Shizuku Tsukishima meets Seiji Amasawa (Tori Matsuzaka). He is in the same grade and school that Shizuku Tsukishima attends. At first, she does not like him, but she becomes fascinated with his pursuit of his dream. Seiji Amasawa also knows Shizuku Tsukishima’s dream is to become a novelist. They vow to each other to achieve their dreams.

10 years later, Shizuku Tsukishima is 24 years old. She gave up her dream of becoming a novelist and now works as an editor for a publishing company that specializes in children’s books. She struggles in her daily life at work. Meanwhile, Seiji Amasawa is abroad and still pursuing his dream.

“Whisper of the Heart” will be released September 18, 2020 in Japan.

Park Shin-Yang & Lee Min-Ki are cast in movie “Three Days” (working & literal title). The film is directed by first time feature film director Hyun Moon-Sub. Filming for the movie will begin sometime during the first half of this year.

Plot synopsis by AsianWiki: Cha Seung-Do’s (Park Shin-Yang) daughter dies suddenly. Her funeral will take place in 3 days. During the funeral, the devil wakes up from the heart of her dead body. Catholic Priest Van (Lee Min-Ki) performs an exorcism.

Sayu Kubota, Riku Hagiwara, Fuju Kamio, Natsumi Okamoto, and Ayumu Mochizuki are cast in live-action TV Asahi drama series “In the Blunt Box.” The drama series is based on manga series “Nibiiro no Hako no Naka de” by Tomohiro Shinohara and directed by Shinji Kuma (“Psychic Agents“). The drama series follows five teens who live in the same apartment complex and have been friends since their childhood days.

“In the Blunt Box” first airs February 8, 2020 in Japan.

Masaki Okada & Jun Shison cast in live-action film “The Night Beyond the Tricornered Window”

Masaki Okada and Jun Shison are cast in live-action film “The Night Beyond the Tricornered Window.” The film is based on manga series “Sankaku Mado no Sotogawa wa Yoru” by Tomoko Yamashita and directed by Yukihiro Morigaki (“Goodbye, Grandpa“). Filming for the movie will begin January 15, 2020 and finish mid-February, 2020.

Plot synopsis by AsianWiki: Since Kosuke Mikado (Jun Shison) was a child, he has seen ghosts. He has had a difficult time because of that. One day, Rihito Hiyakawa (Masaki Okada) comes to the bookstore where Kosuke Mikado works at and tells Kosuke Mikado that if he is with him, he won’t be afraid anymore.

Rihito Hiyakawa is an exorcist. Kosuke Mikado decides to take part in exorcisms conducted by Rihito Hiyakawa. They then receive a request from a detective about a serial murder case. While investigating the case, Rihito Hiyakawa and Kosuke Mikado find a cursed dead body.

Son Hyun-Joo, Jang Seung-Jo & Lee Elijah cast in JTBC drama series “Model Detective”

Son Hyun-Joo, Jang Seung-Jo and Lee Elijah are cast in JTBC drama series “Model Detective” (literal title). The drama series is set in Incheon and revolves around detectives working in that area. For actor Son Hyun-Joo and drama series director Jo Nam-Kook, this is the third time they work together after 2012 SBS drama series “The Chaser” and 2013 SBS drama series “Empire of Gold..” Meanwhile, Jang Seung-Jo is currently starring in JTBC drama series “Chocolate” and Lee Elijah most recently finished work in JTBC drama series “Chief of Staff 2.”

“Model Detective” first airs April, 2020 in South Korea (takes over JTBC’s Monday & Tuesday 9:30 PM time slot after “If the Weather Is Good, I’ll Find You“).

Teaser trailer & poster for tvN drama series “Hi Bye Mama”

First teaser trailer and teaser poster added for tvN drama series “Hi Bye Mama” starring Kim Tae-Hee, Lee Kyu-Hyung, and Ko Bo-Gyeol. The teaser trailer shows a family taking a portrait together, but with a woman (Kim Tae-Hee) in white hanging about. Kim Tae-Hee’s voice appears around the 11 second mark and she states in Korean “I am a ghost momma.”

“Hi Bye Mama” will first air February, 2020 in South Korea (takes over tvN’s Saturday & Sunday 9PM time slot after “Crash Landing on You“).

First teaser trailer added for KBS2 drama series “Forest” starring Park Hae-Jin & Jo Bo-Ah. Captions in the teaser trailer state in Korean (0:04) “All the secrets” and (0:12) “Began in this forest.”

Meanwhile, below are still images of Park Hae-Jin in the drama series. He plays Kang San-Hyeok. He is a M&A specialist, with a cool, perfectionist personality. Due to an unexplained reason, he begins to work as a member of a 911 special rescue team.

Park Bo-Gum & Park So-Dam cast in tvN drama series “Youth Record”

Park Bo-Gum & Park So-Dam are cast for lead roles in tvN drama series “Youth Record” (literal title). Actor Byeon Woo-Seok, most recently seen in JTBC drama series “Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency,” is also cast for a major supporting character role. The three actors held a meeting for the drama series on January 8, 2020 for the first time on January 8, 2020.

For “Youth Record,” Park Bo-Gum will play Sa Hye-Joon. He is a popular model, but aspires to become an actor. Park So-Dam will play An Jung-Ha. She works as a make-up artist. Byeon Woo-Seok will play Won Hae-Hyo. He is a model and actor. 

“Youth Record” will first air sometime around May, 2020 in South Korea.
