Honoka Yahagi and Kentaro Ito cast for lead roles in MBS drama series “Peanut Butter Sandwich.” Shuko Ito is also cast for a major supporting role. The drama series is based on webcomic “Peanut Butter Sandwich” by Mitsouko.

Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: The Japanese government runs a Peanut Butter Sandwich organization. The organization picks 4 single women and supports them to find a man to marry. The organization includes Chief Gonda (Shuko Ito), Tsubaki (Honoka Yahagi) and Kobayashi (Kentaro Ito). Tsubaki is a rookie member. Even though she is a member, she has doubts about marriage and even the existence of the organization. Meanwhile, Kobayashi places emphasis on data and doesn’t hold interest in people. The Peanut Butter Sandwich organization selects OL Sayo, Nurse Miharu, OL Miwa and Secretary Akane.

Kalen Anzai and Shohei Miura cast in TV Asahi drama series “M: Ai Subeki Hito ga Ite”

Kalen Anzai and Shohei Miura are cast in TV Asahi drama series “M: Ai Subeki Hito ga Ite.” The drama series is set in the 1990’s and follows a high school student as she attempts to become a pop singer. Kalen Anzai will play aspiring star Ayu and Shohei Miura will play music label executive Masa.

Plot synopsis by AsianWiki: Set in the 1990’s, high school student Ayu (Kalen Anzai) lives with her mother and grandmother in Fukuoka. She works as a model, but, to pursue an acting career, she goes to Tokyo with her grandmother. While attending a high school, she picks up acting work, but only minor roles. One day, Ayu meets Masa (Shohei Miura), who is the executive director of record label A Victory. He decides to make Ayu into a singer. According to Masa, Ayu prepares to make her debut as a singer. Two teaser posters for movie “Peninsula”

Here’s two teaser posters for movie “Peninsula” starring Gang Dong-Won and Lee Jung-Hyun. The film is a sequel to 2016 zombie film “Train To Busan” and Yeon Sang-Ho returns to direct the sequel film. Caption on the teaser poster states “(Train to Busan) … 4 years later.”

Shinichi Tsutsumi & Yuriko Ishida cast in movie “Wish”

Shinichi Tsutsumi and Yuriko Ishida are cast in movie “Wish” (literal title). The film is based on 2016 novel “Nozomi” by Shusuke Shizukui (“Killing For The Prosecution“) and directed by Yukihiko Tsutsumi (“The House Where The Mermaid Sleeps“). Filming for “Wish” took place from January to February, 2020 around the Kanto area. For the movie, Shinichi Tsutsumi and Yuriko Ishida play a married couple, worried that their son might be involved in a murder.

Plot synopsis by AsianWiki: Kazuto Ishikawa (Shinichi Tsutsumi) is a first-class architect. He is married to Kiyomi (Yuriko Ishida). They have a son, Tadashi, who attends high school and a daughter, Miyabi, who attends middle school. They live together in a refined home, designed by Kazuto.

An injury causes Tadashi to quit play soccer. Since that time, Tadashi often stays out all night without permission. One evening, Tadashi leaves home and does not return. Kazuto and Kiyomi become worried about their son and consider going to the police. News then reveal the murder of Tadashi’s classmate. The police suspect that Tadashi might be involved in the murder.

Jung Il-Woo cast in SBS drama series “Late Night Snack Man and Woman”

Jung Il-Woo is cast in new SBS drama series “Late Night Snack Man and Woman” (literal title). For the drama series, Jung Il-Woo will play lead male character Park Jin-Sun. Actress Kang Ji-Young (formerly of idol group ‘Kara’) has been offered the lead female role and she is currently “positively considering” her offer.

Plot synopsis by AsianWiki: Park Jin-Sung (Jung Il-Woo) is a chef and runs his own late-night snack restaurant. He is physically attractive and loves to cook, but he also has a secret. Park Jin-Sung gets involved with TV show producer Kim A-Jin.
