First script reading for MBC drama series “Old School Intern”

First script reading for upcoming MBC drama series “Old School Intern” (literal title), starring Park Hae-Jin & Kim Eung-Soo, took place February 8, 2020 in South Korea. Attending the first script reading were main cast members Park Hae-Jin, Kim Eung-Soo, Han Ji-Eun, Park Ah-In , Ko Gun-Han, Hong Seung-Bum, Noh Jong-Hyun, Ko In-Beom, Son Jong-Hak, Jung Kyung-Soon, and Kim Ki-Cheon. Director Nam Sung-Woo also attended. His past work includes “100 Days My Prince” and “Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo.” The first script reading had Park Hae-Jin portraying Ka Yeol-Chan, who goes through hard times because of his boss Lee Main-Sik (Kim Eung-Soo) and also becomes chief of sales and marketing of a company.

“Old School Intern” first airs May, 2020 in South Korea (takes over MBC’s Wednesday and Thursday 9PM time slot after “Find Me in Your Memory.”).

Juri Ueno cast in Fuji TV drama series “Asagao: Forensic Doctor”

Juri Ueno, Saburo Tokito, Shunsuke Kazama, and Yuzuna Kato are all cast in Fuji TV live-action drama series “Asagao: Forensic Doctor 2.” All four of the performers will reprise their characters from 2019 Fuji TV drama series “Asagao: Forensic Doctor.” The drama series is based on  manga series “Kansatsui Asagao” by Masahito Kagawa.

Meanwhile, above is promotional image of the cast from the first day of filming for the sequel drama series, which took place in Gunma Prefecture, Japan. The scene has Asagao (Juri Ueno), Taira (Saburo Tokito), Shinya (Shunsuke Kazama) and Tsugumi (Yuzuna Kato) are on family trip. 

“Asagao: Forensic Doctor 2” will first air summer, 2020 in Japan.

Main trailer for live-action film “Grand Blue”

Main trailer added for live-action film “Grand Blue” starring Ryo Ryusei, Yuki Yoda, and Atsuhiro Inukai. The movie is based on manga series “Grand Blue” written by Kenji Inoue and directed by Tsutomu Hanabusa. In addition, more supporting cast members have been announced for the film. They are Aya Asahina, Yuka Ogura, Ren Ishikawa and Masahiro Takashima. The theme song for the movie has been revealed as well, which is “Zekkyou Serenade” by rock group Sumika. The song “Zekkyou Serenade” appears in the main trailer.

“Grand Blue” will be released May 29, 2020 in Japan.

Poster & trailer for live-action film “Kiss Him, Not Me”

Poster and trailer added for live-action film “Kiss Him, Not Me” starring Hokuto Yoshino, Nonoka Yamaguchi, and Fuju Kamio. Movie is based on manga series “Watashi ga Motete Dosunda” by Junko. The theme song for the movie has been also been revealed, which is “Watashi ga Motete Dosunda” by girl group Girls². The theme song “Watashi ga Motete Dosunda” appears in the trailer.

“Kiss Him, Not Me” will be released July 10, 2020 in Japan.

Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: “Find Me in Your Memory” depicts a love story between Lee Jung-Hoon (Kim Dong-Wook) and Yeo Ha-Jin (Mun Ka-Young).

Ryo Yoshizawa and Hana Sugisaki cast in movie “Blue, Painful, and Brittle”

Ryo Yoshizawa and Hana Sugisaki are cast in movie “Blue, Painful, and Brittle” (literal title). The film is based on 2018 novel  “Aokute Itakute Moroi” by Yoru Sumino (“Let Me Eat Your Pancreas“). Shunsuke Kariyama (“Humanoid Monster, Bem“) directs the film and the screenplay adaptation is be written by Noriaki Sugihara (“Sadako“). For the film, Ryo Yoshizawa will play university student Kaede Tabata and Hana Sugisaki will play fellow university student Hisano Akiyoshi.

Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Kaede Tabata (Ryo Yoshizawa) is a university student with poor social skills. He meets Hisano Akiyoshi (Hana Sugisaki), who attends the same university. She seems to lack common sense and is also an idealist. She talks about ending wars and having no more bullies. Kaede Tabata & Hisano Akiyoshi have different personalities, but they are both outsiders. For their goal to change the world, they decide to make a secret club Moai. One day, Hisano Akiyoshi suddenly disappears. Their secret club Moai also changes. Moai becomes a club for job finders and the club gets larger. Kaede Tabata decides to leave the club, but he then decides to take back Moai for its original mission, dreamt up by himself and Hisano Akiyoshi.

Arata Furuta & Tori Matsuzaka cast in movie “Blank”

Arata Furuta & Tori Matsuzaka are cast in movie “Blank” (literal title of “Kuhaku”). The film is directed and scripted by Keisuke Yoshida (“Come On Irene“). Filming will begin in late March, 2020 and finish a few weeks later by mid-April, 2020. Filming will take place in Gamagori, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. The film will have Tori Matsuzaka playing supermarket operator Naoto Aoyagi and Arata Furuta plays Mitsuru Soeda. His daughter was caught stealing at the supermarket and gets hit by a car, while trying to flee from the store.

“Blank” will be released sometime during 2021 in Japan.

Takuya Kimura cast in TV Asahi drama series “BG: Personal Bodyguard Season 2”

Takuya Kimura is cast in TV Asahi drama series “BG: Personal Bodyguard Season 2.” Also returning for season 2 are Takumi Saito, Nanao and Shotaro Mamiya. Cast to play new supporting characters are Mikako Ichikawa, Masanobu Katsumura, and Toru Nakamura.
