Kiichi Nakai cast in WOWOW drama series “The Grand Family”

Kiichi Nakai is cast in WOWOW drama series “The Grand Family” (literal title). The drama series is based on novel “Karei Naru Ichizoku” by Toyoko Yamasaki (“The Great White Tower“/”The Waste Land“). Staff for the drama series includes director Masaki Nishiura and screenwriter Youichi Maekawa.

Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Daisuke Manpyo (Kiichi Nakai) is an owner and also president of Hanshin Bank, which ranks 10th in the nation in terms of bank deposits. Besides Hanshin Bank, Daisuke Manpyo owns several others companies and real estate. He hears from his first son-in-law about a move to reorganize the commercial banks. His son-in-law works as b bureaucrat for the Ministry of the Treasury. Daisuke Manpyo attempts to block his bank from being merged with another bank. He faces difficult times.

Hwang Jung-Eum, Yoon Hyun-Min, & Seo Ji-Hoon cast in KBS2 drama series “That Guy Is The Guy”

Hwang Jung-Eum, Yoon Hyun-Min, and Seo Ji-Hoon are cast for lead roles in new KBS2 drama series “That Guy Is The Guy” (literal title). The drama series will follow a love triangle between Hwang Jung-Eum as single, career woman Seo Hyun-Joo and two men who confess feelings for her.

She declares that she plans to remain single, but she receives confessions from two men: Hwang Ji-Woo (Yoon Hyun-Min) and Park Do-Gyeom (Seo Ji-Hoon). Hwang Ji-Woo is the CEO of a pharmaceutical company. He has a cold personality and excellent business ability. Park Do-Gyeom is a popular webcomic writer. He is a sociable person. Drama series “Convenience Store Saet-Byeol” to air on SBS from June

Drama series “Convenience Store Saet-Byeol” (literal title) is now set to air on SBS from June, 2020. The drama series will slot into SBS’ Friday and Saturday 10 PM time slot after “The King: Eternal Monarch.” Story for the drama series will have Ji Chang-Wook playing a convenience store owner and Kim You-Jung will play an employee at his store. The screenplay is based on webcomic “Pyeonuijeom Saetbyeoli” by Hwalhwasan. “Convenience Store Saet-Byeol” was initially reported to air on cable channel Lifetime Korea.

Hiroshi Abe cast in TBS drama series “Dragon Zakura 2”

Hiroshi Abe is cast in TBS live-action drama series “Dragon Zakura 2.” The drama series is a sequel to 2005 TBS drama series “Dragon Zakura” and is based on manga series “Dragon Zakura 2” by Norifusa Mita. Hiroshi Abe will reprise his character of high school teacher Kenji Sakuragi in the sequel drama series.

Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: 10 years after Kenji Sakuragi (Hiroshi Abe) left Ryuzan High School, the school is in a downturn. Ryuzan High School once produced many students that were admitted into the University of Tokyo, but not so anymore. To get the school out of its downturn, Kenji Sakuragi is sent an offer to return to Ryuzan High School.

“Dragon Zakura 2” will first air sometime this summer in Japan.

First script reading for MBC drama series “Old School Intern”

First script reading for upcoming MBC drama series “Old School Intern” (literal title), starring Park Hae-Jin & Kim Eung-Soo, took place February 8, 2020 in South Korea. Attending the first script reading were main cast members Park Hae-Jin, Kim Eung-Soo, Han Ji-Eun, Park Ah-In , Ko Gun-Han, Hong Seung-Bum, Noh Jong-Hyun, Ko In-Beom, Son Jong-Hak, Jung Kyung-Soon, and Kim Ki-Cheon. Director Nam Sung-Woo also attended. His past work includes “100 Days My Prince” and “Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo.” The first script reading had Park Hae-Jin portraying Ka Yeol-Chan, who goes through hard times because of his boss Lee Main-Sik (Kim Eung-Soo) and also becomes chief of sales and marketing of a company.

“Old School Intern” first airs May, 2020 in South Korea (takes over MBC’s Wednesday and Thursday 9PM time slot after “Find Me in Your Memory.”).

Juri Ueno cast in Fuji TV drama series “Asagao: Forensic Doctor”

Juri Ueno, Saburo Tokito, Shunsuke Kazama, and Yuzuna Kato are all cast in Fuji TV live-action drama series “Asagao: Forensic Doctor 2.” All four of the performers will reprise their characters from 2019 Fuji TV drama series “Asagao: Forensic Doctor.” The drama series is based on  manga series “Kansatsui Asagao” by Masahito Kagawa.

Meanwhile, above is promotional image of the cast from the first day of filming for the sequel drama series, which took place in Gunma Prefecture, Japan. The scene has Asagao (Juri Ueno), Taira (Saburo Tokito), Shinya (Shunsuke Kazama) and Tsugumi (Yuzuna Kato) are on family trip.

Main trailer for live-action film “Grand Blue”

Main trailer added for live-action film “Grand Blue” starring Ryo Ryusei, Yuki Yoda, and Atsuhiro Inukai. The movie is based on manga series “Grand Blue” written by Kenji Inoue and directed by Tsutomu Hanabusa. In addition, more supporting cast members have been announced for the film. They are Aya Asahina, Yuka Ogura, Ren Ishikawa and Masahiro Takashima. The theme song for the movie has been revealed as well, which is “Zekkyou Serenade” by rock group Sumika. The song “Zekkyou Serenade” appears in the main trailer.

“Grand Blue” will be released May 29, 2020 in Japan.

Poster and trailer added for live-action film “Kiss Him, Not Me” starring Hokuto Yoshino, Nonoka Yamaguchi, and Fuju Kamio. Movie is based on manga series “Watashi ga Motete Dosunda” by Junko. The theme song for the movie has been also been revealed, which is “Watashi ga Motete Dosunda” by girl group Girls². The theme song “Watashi ga Motete Dosunda” appears in the trailer.
