Seo Ye-Ji cast in tvN drama series “Psycho But It’s Okay”

Seo Ye-Ji is cast in upcoming tvN drama series “Psycho But It’s Okay” co-starring Kim Soo-Hyun. For “Psycho But It’s Okay,” Seo Ye-Ji will play lead female character Ko Moon-Young. Her character is scripted as a popular writer of children’s literature, but she has antisocial tendencies.

Plot synopsis by AsianWiki: A story about a man employed in a psychiatric ward and a woman, with an antisocial personality disorder, who is a popular writer of children’s books.

Moon Kang-Tae (Kim Soo-Hyun) works in the psychiatric ward. His job is to write down the patients’ conditions and to deal with unexpected situations, like if patients fight or they run away. He only earns about 1.8 million won (~$1,600 USD) a month. The woman (Seo Ye-Ji) is a popular writer of children’s literature, but she is extremely selfish, arrogant and rude.

“Psycho But It’s Okay” is now slotted to first air June, 2020 in South Korea.

Ryosuke Yamada & Tao Tsuchiya cast in movie “Daikaijyu no Atoshimatsu”

Ryosuke Yamada & Tao Tsuchiya are cast in big budget action film “Daikaijyu no Atoshimatsu.” The film will be directed by Satoshi Miki (“It’s Me, It’s Me“) and has movie studios Toei and Shochiku working together on the project. Story for the film centers around a giant monster that attacks Japan, but suddenly dies. Its death causes more problems, as a deadly gas explosion is expected to come from the monster’s body.

Plot synopsis by AsianWiki: A large monster attacks Japan, but dies suddenly. It’s only a matter of time that a gas explosion will take place from the carcass of the monster, which could cause the country to collapse. Arata Tatewaki (Ryosuke Yamada) is assigned to lead a special force team into the critical area. Yukino Amane (Tao Tsuchiya) appears in front of Arata Tatewaki . She is the secretary to the environment minister and also the ex-fiancee of Arata Tatewaki.

Filming will take place during spring, 2020 around the Kanto region of Japan. The release date has not been set, but will occur sometime after this year.

Hiroshi Tamaki and Issey Takahashi cast in Fuji TV-KTV drama series “Ryu no Michi”

Hiroshi Tamaki and Issey Takahashi are cast for lead roles in Fuji TV-KTV drama series “Ryu no Michi.” The drama series is based on 2011 novel “Ryu no Michi” by Toru Shirakawa. The drama series will have Hiroshi Tamaki and Issey Takahashi playing twin brothers who try to get revenge on Genpei Kirishima.

“Ryu no Michi” first airs April 14, 2020 (takes over Fuji TV’s Tuesday 9PM time slot after “The Secrets“).

First teaser trailer added for tvN drama series “A Piece of Your Mind” starring Jung Hae-In and Chae Soo-Bin. At about the 5 second mark of teaser trailer #1, Jung Hae-In’s voice appears and he states in Korean “One leaf without a sound lands on my shoulder. The universe places a hand on my body.” Above is a teaser poster for the drama series and the caption on it states “I am enough with your half of a half.”

Kim Ha-Neul, Yoon Sang-Hyun, & Lee Do-Hyun cast in JTBC drama series “18 Again”

Kim Ha-Neul, Yoon Sang-Hyun, and Lee Do-Hyun are cast in JTBC drama series “18 Again.” The drama series will have Yoon Sang-Hyun and Lee Do-Hyun playing the same character who changes from a 37-year-old man into an 18-year-old man. The drama series will be directed by Ha Byung-Hoon. He previously directed by 2017 KBS2 drama series “Go Back Couple.”

Plot synopsis by AsianWiki: Jung Da-Jung (Kim Ha-Neul) is married to 37-year-old Hong Dae-Young (Yoon Sang-Hyun). They have have 18-year-old son and daughter. Jung Da-Jung works hard as a rookie announcer and she has a warm heart. She becomes completely fed up with her husband and is unable to deal with him anymore. Hong Dae-Young got fired from his job and he is looked down upon by his family. Jung Da-Jung hands him divorce papers.

Meanwhile, Hong Dae-Young looks at himself as an ordinary jobless middle-aged man. He regrets his life. At that moment, his body changes into that of an 18-year-old year old person, while his mind is still that of his 37-year-old self. Back in his teenage days, Hong Dae-Young (Lee Do-Hyun) was an excellent basketball player and also popular. Now, with his regained 18-year-old body, he changes his name to Ko Woo-Young and begins to live a new life.

“18 Again” will first air sometime in the second half of this year in South Korea.

Around him are his younger brother Tokuta (Takayuki Yamada) and younger sister Ibuki (Riisa Naka). Younger brother Tokuta flatters Tetsuo and acts like his subordinate. Ibuki has been sick for a long time. The brothel has 4 prostitutes, who have all different personalities.

First script reading for KBS2 drama series “Soul Repairer”

First script reading for KBS2 drama series “Soul Repairer” (literal title), starring Shin Ha-Kyun and Jung So-Min, took place December, 2019 at KBS Annex Broadcasting Station in Yeouido, South Korea. Along with director Yoo Hyun-Ki and screenwriter Lee Hyang-Hee, main cast members that attended the first script reading included Shin Ha-Kyun, Jung So-Min, Tae In-Ho, Park Ye-Jin, Joo Min-Kyung, Jo Kyung-Sook, Park Soo-Young, Jung Hae-Kyun, Choi Jung-Woo, and Park Hyun-Suk. The first script reading took about 5 hours to complete.

“Soul Repairer” first airs May, 2020 in South Korea.

Yuki Yoda cast in live-action film “Grand Blue”

Yuki Yoda (‘Nogizaka46’) is cast for the lead female character in live-action film “Grand Blue” co-starring Ryo Ryusei and Atsuhiro Inukai. The movie is based on manga series “Grand Blue” written by Kenji Inoue and by Kimitake Yoshioka. Tsutomu Hanabusa (“Asahinagu“) directs the live-action film. For “Grand Blue,” Yuki Yoda will play freshman university student Chisa Kotegawa. She is member of the school’s university scuba diving club.

“Grand Blue” will be released May 29, 2020 in Japan.
