Jang Keun-Suk has been offered the lead male role in KakaoTV drama series “Accidental Country Diary” (literal title). Currently, Jang Keun-Suk is considering the offer. If he does accept, the drama series role will be his first acting performance since he was discharged from compulsory military service on May 29, 2020. “Accidental Country Diary” is based on web novel “Eojjeodaga Jeonwonilgi” by Park Ha-Min.

Movie is based on novel “Rupan no Musume” by Dai Yokozeki and directed by Hideki Takeuchi (“Nodame Cantabile“). The trailer begins with captions that states “Congratulations! Retirement!,” and then shows Takeru Mikumo (Atsuro Watabe), who has decided to retire from crime, receiving flowers.

Around the 1 minute mark, an unidentified man declares “The blood revenge will begin” and then an attack occurs on Ashin’s tribe. Lim Soo-Jung and Lee Do-Hyun are cast in tvN drama series “Melancholia.” The drama series is directed by Kim Sang-Hyub (“Extraordinary You“) and scripted by Kim Ji-Woon (“Doctor John“). The script will have Lim Soo-Jung playing Ji Yoon-Soo. She works as a math teacher at a private high school. Lee Do-Hyun will play Baek Seung-Yoo. He is a genius math student at the same high school.
“Melancholia” first airs sometime later this year in South Korea.

The first script reading was attended by main cast members Kim You-Jung, Ahn Hyo-Seop, Gong Myung, Kwak Si-Yang, Jang Hyun-Sung, Kim Kwang-Kyu, & Moon Sook. The drama series is set in historical times and mixes fact and fiction.

Ahn Hee-Yeon, Kwak Si-Yang and Kim Min-Kyu are cast in JTBC drama series “Idol: The Coup.” The drama series will will follow an unpopular idol group “Cotton Candy,” its management company and other groups that work under the same management company. Ahn Hee-Yeon, who is herself a member of idol group “EXID,” will play a member of Cotton Candy.

Singer-actor Choi Si-Won from “Super Junior” is also cast for a major supporting character role. The drama series is based on webcomic “Soolkkundoshicheonyeodeul” by Mikkang. The drama series will revolve around three women who meet after work and like to drink together.
“Drinker City Women” will stream on the TVING platform sometime during the second half of this year in South Korea.

Kim Hyun-Joo is cast for the lead role in Netflix sci-fi film “Jung-E.” Actor Ryoo Kyung-Soo is also cast for a major supporting character role and actress Kang Soo-Yeon was previously announced to play a major supporting character role. The film will be directed by Yeon Sang-Ho (“Train To Busan“). For the film, Kim Hyun-Joo will play soldier Jung-E. She takes part in a brain cloning experiment. The movie is set in the 22nd century, where humans live in a man made shelter due to climate change and a war erupts between the inhabitants.

New teaser trailer and poster added for movie “99.9 Criminal Lawyer: The Movie” starring Jun Matsumoto, Teruyuki Kagawa, and Hana Sugisaki. In addition, Jin Katagiri, Magi, Azusa Babazono, & Toru Baba have been announced as supporting actors in the film. All four of the new cast members will play employees at Madarame Law Firm.
