Ryusei Yokohama is cast in live-action film “Usogui.” Movie is based on manga series “Usogui” by Toshio Sako and directed by Hideo Nakata (“Ring“). The film revolves around an underground gambling club with Ryusei Yokohama playing mysterious gambler Baku Madarame. Above is the first teaser poster for the movie.

Mugi Kadowaki and Naotaro Moriyama are cast in TV Tokyo live-action drama series “Swim Ring: More Than Friends, Less Than An Affair” (literal title). The drama series is based on manga series “Ukiwa” by Munehiro Nomura. For the drama series, Mugi Kadowaki will play main character Maiko Nakayama. She learns her husband is having an affair and becomes closer to her husband’s boss/next door neighbor, played by Naotaro Moriyama.

Hiroshi Abe is cast in movie “Transfer Order Is To The Musical Band” (literal title of “Ido Jirei wa Ongakutai!”). The film is written and directe by Eiji Uchida. In the film, Hiroshi Abe will play Detective Tsukasa Naruse. His boss transfers him to the police musical band as punishment. Director Eiji Uchida became inspired to the make the movie after watching a flash mob police musical band perform on YouTube.
Filming for “Transfer Order Is To The Musical Band” begins at the start of August, 2021 and will be released during summer, 2022.

Son Ye-Jin is cast for the lead female role in JTBC drama series “Thirty Nine” (literal title) co-starring Jeon Mi-Do and Kim Ji-Hyun. Son Ye-Jin will play 39-year-old Cha Mi-Zo. She is friends with characters played by Jeon Mi-Do and Kim Ji-Hyun, who are also 39-years-old. Actor Yeon Woo-Jin has receivd an offer to play the lead male role and he is currently “positively considering” his offer.
“Thirty Nine” will consist of 12 episodes and filming will begin August, 2021. Air date for the drama series has not yet been announced.

Ma Dong-Seok, Seohyun, and David Lee will play members of the Holy Night team. Kyung Soo-Jin will play a woman who turns to the Holy Night team to save her younger sister played by Jung Ji-So.

TV Tokyo live-action drama series “Helical Labyrinth,” starring Kei Tanaka & Ken Yasuda, is now scheduled to air from October, 2021. The drama was originally to air from April, 2020, but the Covid-19 outbreak caused filming to be postponed. Filming for the drama series resumed this month. “Helical Labyrinth” is based on manga series “Rasen no Meikyu: Idenshi Sosa” by Midori Natsu.
