Air date & first script reading for SBS drama “Red Sky”

First script reading for SBS drama series “Red Sky,” starring Kim You-Jung & Ahn Hyo-Seop, took place November, 2020 in South Korea. The first script reading was attended by main cast members Kim You-Jung, Ahn Hyo-Seop, Gong Myung, Kwak Si-Yang, Jang Hyun-Sung, Kim Kwang-Kyu, &  Moon Sook. The drama series is set in historical times and mixes fact and fiction.

Ep.1 of “Red Sky” is now scheduled to air August, 2021, taking over SBS’ Monday and Tuesday 10PM time slot after “Racket Boys.”

Ahn Hee-Yeon, Kwak Si-Yang & Kim Min-Kyu cast in JTBC drama “Idol: The Coup”

Ahn Hee-Yeon, Kwak Si-Yang and Kim Min-Kyu are cast in JTBC drama series “Idol: The Coup.” The drama series will will follow an unpopular idol group “Cotton Candy,” its management company and other groups that work under the same management company. Ahn Hee-Yeon, who is herself a member of idol group “EXID,” will play a member of Cotton Candy.

“Idol: The Coup” first airs in the second half of this year in South Korea.

Lee Sun-Bin, Han Sun-Hwa, & Jung Eun-Ji cast in TVING drama “Drinker City Women”

Lee Sun-Bin, Han Sun-Hwa, and Jung Eun-Ji are cast for lead roles in TVING drama series “Drinker City Women” (literal title). Singer-actor Choi Si-Won from “Super Junior” is also cast for a major supporting character role. The drama series is based on webcomic “Soolkkundoshicheonyeodeul” by Mikkang. The drama series will revolve around three women who meet after work and like to drink together.

“Drinker City Women” will stream on the TVING platform sometime during the second half of this year in South Korea.

Kim Hyun-Joo cast in Netflix movie “Jung-E”

Kim Hyun-Joo is cast for the lead role in Netflix sci-fi film “Jung-E.” Actor Ryoo Kyung-Soo is also cast for a major supporting character role and actress Kang Soo-Yeon was previously announced to play a major supporting character role. The film will be directed by Yeon Sang-Ho (“Train To Busan“). For the film, Kim Hyun-Joo will play soldier Jung-E. She takes part in a brain cloning experiment. The movie is set in the 22nd century, where humans live in a man made shelter due to climate change and a war erupts between the inhabitants.

Teaser trailer & poster for movie “99.9 Criminal Lawyer: The Movie”

New teaser trailer and poster added for movie “99.9 Criminal Lawyer: The Movie” starring Jun Matsumoto, Teruyuki Kagawa, and Hana Sugisaki. In addition, Jin Katagiri, Magi, Azusa Babazono, & Toru Baba have been announced as supporting actors in the film. All four of the new cast members will play employees at Madarame Law Firm. 

“99.9 Criminal Lawyer: The Movie” will be released sometime this winter in Japan.

So Ji-Sub cast in MBC drama “Dr. Lawyer”

So Ji-Sub is cast for the lead role in new MBC drama series “Dr. Lawyer.” The drama series will be directed by Lee Yong-Seok (“Haechi“) and scripted by Jang Hong-Cheol (“Class of Lies“). In “Dr. Lawyer,” So Ji-Sub will play Han Yi-Han. He was once an elite surgeon, but one surgery ruined his career. 4 years later, he works as an attorney, specializing in medical malpractice suits.

“Dr. Lawyer” will first air sometime during the first half of 2022 in South Korea.

Kim Hee-Seon cast in MBC drama “Tomorrow”

Kim Hee-Seon is cast for the lead role in MBC drama series “Tomorrow” (literal title). The fantasy themed drama series is based on webcomic “Naeil” by Ra Ma. In “Tomorrow,” Kim Hee-Seon will play a charismatic angel of death. She is part of a crisis management team that tries to save suicidal people from taking their own lives.

“Tomorrow” will first air during the first half of 2022 in South Korea.
