Hikaru Takahashi cast in WOWOW drama “I Want To Hold Aono-kun So Badly I Could Die”

Hikaru Takahashi is cast for the lead female role in WOWOW live-action drama series “I Want To Hold Aono-kun So Badly I Could Die” co-starring Shori Sato. The drama series is based on manga series “Aono-kun ni Sawaritai kara Shinitai” by Umi Shiina. For the drama series, Hikaru Takahashi will play Yuri Kariya. Her boyfriend Ryuhei Aono (Shori Sato) dies in a car accident and she tries to kill herself, but her boyfriend appears again as a ghost.

“I Want To Hold Aono-kun So Badly I Could Die” will first air spring, 2022 in Japan.

First script reading & ep.1 air date for MBC drama “The Red Sleeve Cuff”

Ep.1 air date for MBC drama series “The Red Sleeve Cuff” (literal title), starring Lee Joon-Ho & Lee Se-Young, is now set for November 5, 2021 in South Korea. The drama series will air Fridays and Saturdays at 10PM following the conclusion of “The Veil.” Meanwhile, photos above are from the first script reading for the drama series, which took place May, 2021 at MBC Ilsan Dream Center. Lee Joon-Ho, Lee Se-Young, Kang Hoon, Lee Deok-Hwa, Jang Hee-Jin, and Seo Hyo-Rim all attended the first script reading. Lee Joon-Ho stated at the first script reading “I wanted to work with Lee Se-Young some day, so here I am. I am happy to get work with her now. The drama seems to have a special and different charm from the original novel. Please show a lots of love.”  Lee Se-Young also stated “I enjoyed the drama series script and the original novel so much. I prepared for the drama, hoping that I can express Deok-Im character more than Deok-Im of the original novel. After attending the script reading, I am looking forwards to having great teamwork.” Below are the first still images of Lee Se-Young in the drama series.

Lee Dong-Wook, Wi Ha-Joon, & Han Ji-Eun cast in tvN drama “Bad and Crazy”

Lee Dong-Wook, Wi Ha-Joon, and Han Ji-Eun are cast in tvN drama series “Bad and Crazy.”  All three will play police officers who work at the Mooui Police Department. Lee Dong-Wook will play Soo-Yeol. He is highly ambitious. Wi Ha-Joon will play K. He is the crazy guy in the group. Han Ji-Eun will play Hee-Gyeom. She once dated Soo-Yeol and works on the drug squad.

“Bad and Crazy” will first air December, 2021 in South Korea.

Honoka Yahagi cast in TV Tokyo drama “Oshaie Sommelier Oshako 2”

Honoka Yahagi is cast in TV Tokyo live-action drama series “Oshaie Sommelier Oshako 2.” The drama series is based on manga series “Osha Ie Sommelier Oshako!” by Kappi and is a sequel to 2020 TV Tokyo drama series “Oshaie Sommelier Oshako.” Honoka Yahagi will reprise her role of Oshako Iega for the drama series. Also cast in the sequel drama series and reprising their characters from the first series are Miu Tomita, Megumi, Udai Iwasaki and Hayato Ichihara. Lastly, Ryousuke Sota and Tsubasa Imai are cast to play new characters for “Oshaie Sommelier Oshako 2.”

“Oshaie Sommelier Oshako 2” first airs October 8, 2021 in Japan.

Kim Tae-Ri & Nam Joo-Hyuk cast in tvN drama “Twenty-Five, Twenty-One”

Kim Tae-Ri and Nam Joo-Hyuk are cast in tvN drama series “Twenty-Five, Twenty-One” (literal title). Also cast for supporting character roles are Bona (WJSN), Choi Hyun-Wook, and, Lee Joo-Myoung. The drama series will depict a love story between Na Hee-Do (Kim Tae-Ri) and Baek Yi-Jin (Nam Joo-Hyuk). Na Hee-Do is a member of the national fencing team and Baek Yi-Jin works as a sports reporter.

Filming for “Twenty-Five, Twenty-One” has already begun and the drama series will air sometime during the first half of 2022.

Yuuka Suzuki and Rio Komiya are cast for lead roles in TV Tokyo live-action drama “Silver Plan To Redo From JK.” The drama series is based on manga series “JK kara Yarinaosu Silver Plan” by Lim Dall-Young & Lee Hye-Sung. The drama series will have a middle-aged homeless woman travel back in time to when she was a high school student (Yuuka Suzuki).

Teaser poster and ep.1 air date set for KBS2 drama series “Affection” (literal title) starring Park Eun-Bin & Ro Woon. The drama series is now scheduled to first air October 11, 2021, airing Mondays & Tuesdays at 9:30 PM after the conclusion of “Police University.” The drama series will follow the romance between Crown Prince Lee Hwi (Park Eun-Bin), who pretends to be a man, and her teacher Jung Ji-Woon (Ro Woon).

Riko Fukumoto & Genta Matsuda cast in movie “The Blue Sky You Have Lost”

Riko Fukumoto and Genta Matsuda are cast in movie “The Blue Sky You Have Lost.” The film is based on 2015 novel “Kimi ga Otoshita Aozora” by Eeyo Sakura and directed by Yuki Saito (“If I’d Kissed Her“). In the film, Riko Fukumoto and Genta Matsuda will play high school students. Riko Fukumoto’s character witness Genta Matsuda’s character getting into an accident, but she will keep waking up on the morning of the accident.

“The Blue Sky You Have Lost” will be released spring, 2022 in Japan.
