Erika Toda & Mei Nagano cast in movie “Maternal Instinct”

Erika Toda and Mei Nagano are cast for lead roles in movie “Maternal Instinct” (literal title). The film is based on 2012 novel “Bosei” by Kanae Minato (“Confessions“) and directed by Ryuichi Hiroki. In the film, Erika Toda and Mei Nagano will play mother and daughter. The daughter then commits suicide. The first teaser trailer for the movie can be viewed at AsianWiki.

“Maternal Instinct” will be released November 23, 2022 in Japan.

Main trailer & poster for movie “Violence Action”

Main trailer and poster for movie “Violence Action” starring Kanna Hashimoto. Movie is directed by Toichiro Ruto (“The Way of the Househusband“) and based on webcomic “Violence Action” by Renji Asai & Shin Sawada. Meanwhile, the movie’s theme song has been announced as “Crash” by rock band Alexandros. The theme song “Crash” is played in the main trailer.

“Violence Action” will be released August 19, 2022 in Japan.

Trailer for Netflix drama “Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area”

Main trailer added for Netflix drama series “Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area” starring Yoo Ji-Tae, Kim Yunjin, and Park Hae-Soo. Drama series is a remake of Spanish TV series “La casa de papel” (“Money Heist”). “Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area” is set under the premise that South and North Korea are soon to reunify. A man known as Professor (Yoo Ji-Tae) then plans the ultimate heist and scouts for people to take part in his plan. The main trailer begins with Professor (Yoo Ji-Tae) talking to Tokyo (Jun Jong-Seo). The woman with the code name of Tokyo, is actually a North Korean who came to South Korea. She is now disillusioned with her circumstances.

“Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area” will be released June 24, 2022 worldwide on Netflix.

Teaser trailer for KBS2 drama “Cafe Minamdang”

First teaser trailer added for KBS2 drama series “Cafe Minamdang” starring Seo In-Guk & Oh Yeon-Seo. The drama series is based on novel “Minamdang Sagun Soochub” by Jung Jae-Han and follows a former criminal profiler, who now pretends to be a fortune teller (Seo In-Guk). The fortune teller and a detective, played by Oh Yeon-Seo, begin to work together. Captions in the teaser trailer states (0:02) “Never seen before,” (0:06) “Intense and exhilarating,” (0:11) “Here comes the male shaman!”

“Cafe Minamdang” will first air June 27, 2022 in South Korea (takes over KBS2’s Monday & Tuesday 9:30 PM time slot after “Bloody Heart“).

Main trailer and poster added for movie “Offbeat Cops” starring Hiroshi Abe. Movie is written and directed by Eiji Uchida (“Midnight Swan“). The film is about overzealous Detective Tsukasa Naruse. He gets demoted to the police music band. The trailer shows Detective Tsukasa Naruse adapt to his new role as a drummer for the police band. Meanwhile, the theme song for the movie has been revealed as “Choral A” by pop band Official Hige Dandism. Theme song “Choral A” is also played in the main trailer.

Main trailer for SBS drama “Why Her?”

Main trailer added for SBS drama series “Why Her?” starring Seo Hyun-Jin & Hwang In-Yeop. The drama series is set at a law school where Oh Soo-Jae (Seo Hyun-Jin) begins to teach, after losing her job as a lawyer. The trailer begins with writing shown on a chalkboard that states “Oh Soo-Jae,  I never sent my clients to jail.” That’s followed by Seo Hyun-Jin stating “What a mess, but I trust you” and around the 10 second mark Hwang In-Yeop states “I met Oh Soo-Jae again.”

Main cast announced for Netflix drama “D.P. 2”

Main cast announced for upcoming Netflix drama series “D.P. 2” starring Jung Hae-In & Koo Gyo-Hwan. The drama series is a sequel 2021 Netflix drama series “D.P.,” that centered around a military team that tracks down deserters. Returning for season 2 are Kim Sung-Kyun and Son Suk-Ku, who will reprise their roles of military officials. Set to play new characters in season 2 are Ji Jin-Hee & Kim Ji-Hyun. Ji Jin-Hee will play Ku Ja-Woon. He works as the judicial office director at Army Headquarters. Kim Ji-Hyun will play Seo Eun. She works as an operations officer at the Ministry of National Defense Prosecutor’s Office. Meanwhile, below is a photo from the first script reading for the drama series, which took place recently in South Korea.

“D.P. 2” is expected to stream sometime later this year on Netflix.
