Ep.1 trailer for MBC drama “Doctor Lawyer”

Ep.1 trailer added for MBC drama series “Doctor Lawyer” starring So Ji-Sub, Shin Sung-Rok, and Lim Soo-Hyang. The teaser trailer begins with Lim Soo-Hyang stating “Do the surgery. There’s someone I need to save.” The trailer goes on to show Han Yi-Han (So Ji-Sub) and Geum Seok-Young (Lim Soo-Hyang) as a couple in love and Geum Seok-Young’s younger brother going into a surgery room to undergo heart transplant surgery. At the 21 second mark, So Ji-Sub asks “Who is that person?” and Lee Kyoung-Young‘s responds “A person, no need to explain, you need to do a transplant operation now.”

“Doctor Lawyer” first airs June 3, 2022 in South Korea.

Teaser trailer & poster for movie “Fragments of the Last Will”

Teaser trailer and poster added for movie “Fragments of the Last Will” starring Kazunari Ninomiya & Keiko Kitagawa. Movie is based on non-fiction novel “Lageri kara Kita Isho” by Jun Henmi. The novel and the film is based on the life of Hatao Yamamoto. The film is set after WW2, with Hatao Yamamoto and his fellow Japanese soldiers trying to survive in a concentration camp in Siberia, Russia.

“Fragments of the Last Will” will be released December 9, 2022 in Japan.

Lee Yoo-Mi, Kim Jung-Eun, Ong Seong-Wu cast in drama series “Strong Girl Nam-Soon”

Lee Yoo-Mi, Kim Jung-Eun, Kim Hae-Sook, Ong Seong-Wu, and Byeon Woo-Seok are cast in drama series “Strong Girl Nam-Soon.” The title character Kang Nam-Soon, played by Lee Yoo-Mi, is scripted as a cousin of Do Bong-Soon from 2017 JTBC drama series “Strong Girl Bong-Soon.” Like Do Bong-Soon from the JTBC drama series, Kang Nam-Soon was born with superhuman strength. She comes to Korea to find her mother and also gets involved in a drug case that takes place in Gangnam, Seoul. Kim Jung-Eun will play the mother and Kim Hae-Sook the grandmother. All three of the woman have superhuman strength.

Filming for the drama series is scheduled to begin summer, 2022 and the drama series is expected to air/stream sometime in the first half of 2023.

Takuya Kusakawa & Sho Nishigaki cast in TV Tokyo drama “Wash My Heart”

Takuya Kusakawa (Bullet Train) and Sho Nishigaki are cast in TV Tokyo drama series “Wash My Heart.” The drama series is based on BL manga “Minato Shoji Coin Laundry” by Sawa Kanzume & Yuzu Tsubaki. In the drama series, Takuya Kusakawa will play a young man that operates a small laundry mat. Sho Nishigaki will play a high school student that comes to the laundry mat.

“Wash My Heart” first airs July 6, 2022 in Japan.

Chun Woo-Hee cast in drama “Money Game”

Chun Woo-Hee is cast for the lead female role in drama series “Money Game” co-starring Ryoo Joon-Yeol & Park Jung-Min. She replaces singer-actress IU, who had to drop out due to scheduling issues. Filming for the drama series is scheduled to begin in the middle of June, 2022. Drama series is based on webcomics “Money Game” and “Pi Game” by Bae Jin-Soo.

“Money Game” is expected to be released via an OTT platform, but exact details has not yet been announced.

Joy cast in Kakao TV drama “Accidental Country Diary”

Joy (Red Velvet) is cast in Kakao TV drama series “Accidental Country Diary” (literal title) co-starring Choo Yeong-Woo. The drama series is based on web novel “Eojjeodaga Jeonwonilgi” by Park Ha-Min. For “Accidental Country Diary,” Joy will play An Ja-Young. She works as a police officer at a police substation in Heedong Village. She develops feelings for Han Ji-Yool (Choo Yeong-Woo), who suddenly appears in the rural village.

“Accidental Country Diary” will be available to stream sometime later this year in South Korea.

Ai Hashimoto cast in NTV drama “Private Tutor Torako”

Ai Hashimoto is cast in NTV drama series “Private Tutor Torako” (literal title). The drama series features an original screenplay by Kazuhiko Yukawa. Ai Hashimoto has previously appeared in Kazuhiko Yukawa scripted NTV drama series “Our Dearest Sakura” and “A Girl of 35.” In “Private Tutor Torako,” Ai Hashimoto will play title character Private Tutor Torako. She is a mysterious figure, but is highly successful as a private tutor.

“Private Tutor Torako” first airs July, 2022 in Japan (takes over NTV’s Wednesday 10PM after “Bad Girl: Glass Ceiling Crushers“).

Teaser trailer & poster for movie “My Broken Mariko”

Teaser trailer and teaser posters added for movie “My Broken Mariko” starring Mei Nagano. The film is directed by Yuki Tanada (“One Million Yen and the Nigamushi Woman“) and based on webcomic “My Broken Mariko” by Waka Hirako. The teaser trailer begins with Tomoyo Shiino (Mei Nagano) watching news on TV and learning her best friend Mariko Ikagawa died. Later in the teaser, Tomoyo Shiino is actually stealing her friend’s ashes and jumps out a window. In addition, Nao, Masataka Kubota, Toshinori Omi, and Yo Yoshida are newly announced supporting cast members in the film.

“My Broken Mariko” will be released sometime this autumn in Japan.
