Pyo Ye-Jin & Lee Jun-Young cast in TVING drama “I Openly Dream of Cinderella”

Pyo Ye-Jin & Lee Jun-Young are cast in TVING drama series “I Openly Dream of Cinderella” (literal title). The drama series is setup as a romantic-comedy between a rich arrogant man who lacks trust in women and a woman hoping to find a Cinderella like love. Pyo Ye-Jin will play Moon Cha-Min. She begins working for a social club in hopes of finding her Prince Charming. Lee Jun-Young will play Shin Jae-Rim. He is the CEO of the social club.

“I Openly Dream of Cinderella” will be released sometime next year in South Korea.

Kasumi Arimura and Kentaro Sakaguchi are cast in Netflix drama series “Beyond Goodbye.” The romance drama series is scripted by Yoshikazu Okada and directed by Hiroshi Kurosaki. Screenwriter Yoshikazu Okada, Director Hiroshi Kurosaki, and Kasumi Arimura previously worked together in 2017 NHK drama series “Hiyokko” and its 2019 NHK drama series sequel “Hiyokko 2.” For the drama series “Beyond Goodbye,” Kasumi Arimura and Kentaro Sakaguchi will play two people who meet and are connected by a person from their past.

Release date for “Beyond Goodbye” has not yet been set.

Teaser poster and ep.1 air date set for MBC drama series “My Dearest Part 2” starring Namkoong Min and Ahn Eun-Jin. The drama series follows the 10 episode “My Dearest” that finished airing September 2, 2023. As ep.10 finished with a heartbreaking parting between Lee Jang-Hyun (Namkoong Min) and Yoo Gil-Chae (Ahn Eun-Jin), “My Dearest Part 2” will show big changes and different backgrounds for these two people. Filming for “My Dearest Part 2” is currently ongoing.

“My Dearest Part 2” will first air October 13, 2023 in South Korea.

Shin Min-A and Kim Young-Dae are cast for lead roles in tvN drama series “Because I Want No Loss” (literal title). The romantic-comedy is about a woman who hates to lose money and a young man who is full of justice. They enter into a fake marriage. The screenplay is written by Kim Hye-Young (“Her Private Life“) and directed by Kim Jung-Sik (“Work Later, Drink Now“).

Go Ara cast in TVING drama “Chunhwa Love Story”

Actress Go Ara is cast for the lead female role in TVING drama series “Chunhwa Love Story” (literal title) co-starring Chang Ryul. She replaces actresses Ko Ah-Sung who was first cast to play the lead female character role, but had to drop out due to an injury she suffered in her personal time. Filming for the drama series was already underway when Ko Ah-Sung suffered a vertebra fracture. Filming will soon resume with Go Ara playing the lead character of Princess Hwari, who is in search of her future husband.

“Chunhwa Love Story” will be available to stream sometime next year in South Korea.

Teaser trailer and posters added for movie “Lumberjack The Monster” starring Kazuya Kamenashi, Nanao, & Riho Yoshioka. The film is based on 2019 novel “Kaibutsu no Kikori” by Mayusuke Kurai and directed by Takashi Miike (“Shield of Straw“). The film follows a lawyer played by Kazuya Kamenashi, who lacks having empathy for others, as he becomes the target of a masked serial killer who uses an ax to steal his victim’s brain.

Ryoko Shinohara and Ikusaburo Yamazaki are cast in TV Tokyo drama series “Hyena.” The drama series is a remake of 2020 SBS drama series “Hyena” starring Kim Hye-Soo and Ju Ji-Hoon. The TV Tokyo drama series version will revolve around two lawyers played by Ryoko Shinohara and Ikusaburo Yamazaki. Although they work and compete in the same industry, they come from different backgrounds.

“Hyena” will first air October 20, 2023 in Japan (takes over TV Tokyo’s Friday 8PM time slot after “Black Postman“).

Lee Ha-Nee, Bang Hyo-Rin, Jin Sun-Kyu, and Cho Hyun-Chul are cast in Netflix drama series “Aema.” The comedy drama series will be directed Lee Hae-Young, who has directed such movies as “Like a Virgin” and “Believer.” Story for drama series “Aema” will be set in the 1980’s and around Chungmuro in Seoul, which was like the Hollywood area of Korea at that time. In “Aema,” Lee Ha-Nee and Bang Hyo-Rin will play actresses who are cast to play the lead role in movie “Madame Aema.” Jin Sun-Kyu will play a movie producer, responsible for movie “Madmae Aema” and Cho Hyun-Chul will play a rookie movie director who will direct “Madame Aema.”
