Teaser trailer and poster for movie “Kingdom 5”

First teaser trailer and teaser poster added for sequel action film “Kingdom 5” starring Kento Yamazaki. Movie is the fifth installment in the “Kingdom” series of films that started with 2019 movie “Kingdom” and is based on manga series “Kingdom” by Yasuhisa Hara. Meanwhile, major supporting cast members have been announced for the 5th film and they are Ryo Yoshizawa, Kanna Hashimoto, Etsushi Toyokawa, Shun Oguri, and Yuki Yamada. All of whom will reprise characters they played in previous “Kingdom” films.

The release date for “Kingdom 5” is now set for July 17, 2026 in Japan.

Tao Tsuchiya and Shori Sato cast in TV Asahi drama “Borderless”

Tao Tsuchiya and Shori Sato are cast in TV Asahi drama series “Borderless.” The police themed drama series revolves a newly created mobile police unit that responds to crimes when it takes place across different jurisdictions. The original screenplay for the drama series is scripted by Ryoichi Kimizuka (“Bayside Shakedown“) and directed by Kazunari Hoshino (“Their Marriage“) and Keita Motohashi (“Musashino Rondo“). The mobile police unit consists of 7 detectives and uses a large truck vehicle that has a sleeping compartment.

“Borderless” will first air April 8, 2026 in Japan (takes over TV Asahi’s Wednesday 9PM time slot after “Aibou: Season 24“).

Ep.1 air date set for SBS drama series “Sold Out On You” starring Ahn Hyo-Seop, Chae Won-Bin, Kim Beom, and Ko Du-Shim. Drama series is now set to premiere April 22, 2026 in SBS’ Wednesday and Thursday 9PM time slot. The last drama series that aired at that time period was 2025 drama series “Dynamite Kiss.” “Sold Out On You” is setup as a fun romantic-comedy between a mushroom farmer played by Ahn Hyo-Seop and a home shopping network host played by Chae Won-Bin.

Ryo Nishikido cast in movie “1 Litre of Tears.”

Ryo Nishikido is cast in remake movie “1 Litre of Tears.” The film is based on autobiographical novel “1 Litre no Namida Nanbyo to Tatakai Tsuzukeru Shojo Aya no Nikki” by Aya Kito. Ryo Nishikido previously appeared in 2005 Fuji TV drama series “1 Litre of Tears” as Haruto Asou and he will reprise his character for the new movie. In the new movie, Haruto Asou has become a doctor.

Meanwhile, the first teaser trailer has been released and can be viewed at AsianWiki. The teaser trailer begins with Ryo Nishikido stating “I wonder if she’d be happy to know that 15 years later, there is someone still reading her book.” The teaser trailer also features songs “3 gatsu 9 ka” (“March 9”) and “Konayuki” (“Powder Snow”) by rock band Remioromen, which are theme songs for the movie.

“1 Litre of Tears” will be released sometime in 2027.

Jun Shison cast in NTV drama “10 Kai Kitte Taorenai Ki wa Nai”

Jun Shison is cast in NTV drama series “10 Kai Kitte Taorenai Ki wa Nai.” Drama series is scripted by Izumi Kawasaki (“Single Flower Day“) and directed by Naoko Komuro (“Escape“) & Hidemi Uchida (“The Reluctant Preacher“). In “10 Kai Kitte Taorenai Ki wa Nai,” Jun Shison will play Teru Aoki. He lost his parents at age of 7 and then was adopted by his father’s best friend was from South Korea. Teru Aoki then grew up in South Korea under the name of Kim Min-Seok and was the successor to his adoptive family’s business. Things changed after his father died in South Korea. He then returns to Japan and meets Momoko Kawase.

“10 Kai Kitte Taorenai Ki wa Nai” first airs April 12, 2026 in Japan.

Character and plot update for tvN drama series “100 Days of Lies”

Lead character descriptions and plot update added for tvN drama series “100 Days of Lies” (literal title) starring Kim You-Jung and Jin Young. Drama series is set in the 1930’s, when South Korea was under Japanese rule. Kim You-Jung will play elite pickpocket Lee Ga-Gyeong. She is recruited by Yoo So-Ra (Kim Hyun-Joo), a sniper for a Korean independence group, to take part in an assassination attempt on Shinichi Sato (Jin Sun-Kyu) the general director of Joseon. She infiltrates the government as an interpreter trainee for 100 days and meets Shinichi Sato’s adopted son Kim Tae-Woong (Jin Young). He is an interpreter. Lee Mu-Saeng plays Yoo Philip, who works as a correspondent for a U.S. news agency and is also a member of the independence group.

“100 Days of Lies” will air sometime in the second half of this year in South Korea.
