Character posters & air date set for ENA drama “Tell Me That You Love Me”

Character posters and ep.1 air date set for ENA drama series “Tell Me That You Love Me” starring Jung Woo-Sung & Shin Hyun-Bin. Drama series is a remake of 1995 TBS drama series “Tell Me That You Love Me” starring Etsushi Toyokawa and Takako Tokiwa. The new character posters are of Jung Woo-Sung as Cha Jin-Woo and Shin Hyun-Bin as Jung Mo-Eun. Caption on Jung Woo-Sung’s poster states “A painter who speaks with his hands” and
Shin Hyun-Bin’s poster states “An actress who listens with her heart.”

“Tell Me That You Love Me ” will first air November 27, 2023 in South Korea.

Elaiza Ikeda and Yojiro Noda cast in NHK drama “Fune wo Amu”

Elaiza Ikeda and Yojiro Noda are cast in NHK drama series “Fune wo Amu.” The drama series is based on 2011 novel “Fune wo Amu” by Shion Miura (“Tada’s Do-It-All House“), which was previously adapted into 2013 movie “The Great Passage” starring Ryuhei Matsuda and Aoi Miyazaki. While the movie version told the story from the viewpoint of dictionary editor Mitsuya Majime, the drama series will tell the story from the viewpoint of new employee Midori Kishibe (Elaiza Ikeda).

“Fune wo Amu” first airs February 18, 2024  in Japan.

Hidetoshi Nishijima & Mana Ashida cast in TBS drama “Sayonara Maestro”

Hidetoshi Nishijima & Mana Ashida are cast in TBS drama series “Sayonara Maestro.” The drama series features an original screenplay by Satomi Oshima (“Nagi’s Long Vacation“) and will have Hidetoshi Nishijima & Mana Ashida play father and daughter. Their relationship is estranged after something happened 5 years earlier. The father, Shunpei Natsume, is a genius orchestra maestro, but oblivious to anything outside of the music world. They begin to live together again.

“Sayonara Maestro” will first air January, 2024 in Japan (takes over TBS’ Sunday 9PM time slot after “Worst to First: A Teen Baseball Miracle“).

So Ji-Sub cast in Netflix drama “Mercy for None”

So Ji-Sub is cast for the lead role in Netflix drama series “Mercy for None.” Heo Jun-Ho, Ahn Kil-Kang, Lee Beom-Soo, Gong Myung, Choo Yeong-Woo and Jo Han-Chul are cast for major supporting character roles, plus Cha Seung-Won and Lee Joon-Hyuk will make special appearances. The drama series is based on webcomic “Gwangjang” written by Oh Se-Hyeong. For So Ji-Sub, “Mercy for None,” marks his return to the noir action world that he last appeared in with 2012 movie “A Company Man.”

“Mercy for None” will be available to stream sometime next year.

Sadao Abe, Riisa Naka, Hayato Isomura, and Yo Yoshida cast in TBS drama “Futekisetsu ni mo Hodo ga Aru”

Sadao Abe, Riisa Naka, Hayato Isomura, and Yo Yoshida are cast in TBS drama series “Futekisetsu ni mo Hodo ga Aru.” The comedy time-travel screenplay is written by Kankuro Kudo and directed by Fuminori Kaneko. Kanjuro Kudo and Fuminori Kaneko most recently worked together for 2023 Netflix drama series “Let’s Get Divorced.” In “Futekisetsu ni mo Hodo ga Aru,” Sadao Abe will play Ichiro Ogawa. He has a nickname of “Ogawa of Hell,” due to his abrasive nature as a middle school teacher, but he is also caring single parent. He travels in time from the year 1986 to 2024. Yo Yoshida will play Sakae Sakisaka. She travels in time from the year 2024 to 1986.

“Futekisetsu ni mo Hodo ga Aru” will first air January, 2024 in Japan (takes over TBS’ Friday 10PM time slot after “Fermat’s Cuisine“).

Teaser trailer and poster added for movie “Alienoid: Part 2” starring Ryoo Joon-Yeol, Kim Woo-Bin, and Kim Tae-Ri. Movie is a sequel to 2022 movie “Alienoid” and directed by Choi Dong-Hoon. The teaser trailer starts with Kim Tae-Ri stating “We fonud the Divine Blade. We need to find Thunder and we must go back to the future.” Caption on the teaser poster states “We must go back to protect everyone.”

Cha Joo-Young and Lee Hyun-Wook are cast in tvN drama series “Wongyeong.” The drama series is based on the life of Queen Wongyeong (August 6, 1365 – August 27, 1420). Cha Joo-Young will play title character Wongyeong and Lee Hyun-Wook will play her husband King Taejong. The drama series is scripted by Lee Young-Mi and directed by Kim Sang-Ho. Screenwriter Lee Young-Mi and Director Kim Sang-Ho previously worked together for 2020 tvN drama series “Money Game.”

“Wongyeong” will air sometime next year in South Korea.

Kim Nam-Gil & Kim Young-Kwang cast in Netflix drama “Trigger”

Kim Nam-Gil & Kim Young-Kwang are cast in Netflix drama series “Trigger.” The drama series is scripted and directed by Kwon Oh-Seung (“Midnight“). Story for “Trigger” will be set under the premise of a sudden influx of illegal guns coming into South Korea. Kim Nam-Gil will play Detective Yi-Do. He investigates a serial gun shooting case and tries to find the source of the guns. Kim Young-Kwan will play Moon-Baek. He is a dealer of illegal guns. These two men eventually face off.

“Trigger” will be available to stream sometime next year.
