Ryu Deok-Hwan cast in OCN drama series “Quiz from God: Reboot”

Ryu Deok-Hwan is cast in OCN drama series “Quiz from God: Reboot.” The drama series is the 5th season in the “Quiz From God” franchise. Ryu Deok-Hwan will reprise his main character role of Han Jin-Woo. He works as a doctor in the medical examiner’s office. He was the youngest man in Korea to become a doctor.

“Quiz from God: Reboot” first airs November, 2018 (takes over OCN’s Wednesday & Thursday 11PM time slot after “The Guest“).

First still images of Seo In-Guk and Jung So-Min in tvN drama series “The Smile Has Left Your Eyes”

Here’s the first still images of Seo In-Guk and Jung So-Min in upcoming tvN drama series “The Smile Has Left Your Eyes.” Drama series is a remake of 2002 Fuji TV drama series “Hundred Million Stars From the Sky” (“Sora Kara Furu Ichioku no Hoshi”). The first still images from the drama series are from a scene filmed July, 2018 in Mapo-district, Seoul, South Korea. This scene is of the first meeting between Kim Moo-Young (Seo In-Guk) and Yoo Jin-Kang (Jung So-Min).

Lastly, ep.1 air date is now set for September 26, 2018 in South Korea (takes over tvN’s Wednesday and Thursday 9:30 PM time slot after “Familiar Wife“).

Choi Tae-Joon and Sooyoung cast in drama series “So I Married an Anti-Fan”

Choi Tae-Joon and Sooyoung (‘Girls’ Generation’) are cast in new drama series “So I Married an Anti-Fan” (literal title). The drama series is based on 2010 novel “Geuraeseo Naneun Antipaengwa Gyeolhonhaedda” by Kim Eun-Jung and directed by Kang Cheol-Woo. The drama series will be half pre-production. For “So I Married an Anti-Fan,” Choi Tae-Joon will play a top star with a bad public image and Sooyoung will play a former reporter who believes she lost her job because of the top star. They both decide to take part in a reality show revolving around a top star and his anti-fan.

Exact air dates or airing network for “So I Married an Anti-Fan” has yet to be decided.

Yoo Jae-Myung and Ji Soo cast in JTBC drama special “Ping Pong Ball”

Yoo Jae-Myung and Ji Soo are cast in JTBC drama special “Ping Pong Ball.” The drama special is part of “JTBC Drama Festa” series which includes last year’s drama special “Summer Days; Yeo-Reum.”  The first script reading for “Ping Pong Ball” took place August 8, 2018 at JTBC building in Sangam, Seoul, South Korea. Yoo Jae-Myung, Ji Soo, Choi Kwang-Il, Lee Ha-Yul, Seo Dong-Gab, Jung Young-Ki all attended the first script reading. For the drama special, Yoo Jae-Myung will play homeless man Kim Deuk-Hwan and Ji Soo will play university student Kim Young-Joon. They bound over their failures in romance.

“Ping Pong Ball” will air sometime this September in South Korea.

Park Bo-Young cast in tvN drama series “Abyss”

Park Bo-Young is cast in new tvN drama series “Abyss” (working title). The drama series falls in the fantasy-romance genre and is scripted by Moon Soo-Yun. For drama series “Abyss,” Park Bo-Young will play a prosecutor. Her character is beautiful, but a mysterious bead causes her appearance to change to a common appearance. Casting for the male lead has not yet been announced.

“Abyss” will first air sometime during the first half of next year in South Korea.

Lee Yo-Won offered lead female role in drama series “Different Dreams”

Lee Yo-Won has been offered the lead female role in drama series “Different Dreams” (literal title). Actress Lee Young-Ae was first cast for the lead female role, but Lee Young-Ae and the production team decided to part ways due to scheduling issues. The drama series is scheduled to being filming this autumn in Mongolia. Filming will also take place in Shanghai, China and South Korea.

If Lee Yo-Won accepts her offer, she will play Lee Young-Jin. Her character is a Korean, but raised by Japanese people during the time when Korea was under Japanese rule. She becomes a doctor and also an agent for the provisional South Korean government. Yoo Ji-Tae has already received an offer to play the lead male role. Both performers are currently “positively considering” their offer.

MBC is in discussions to air the drama series May, 2019, but that has not been finalized.

Character posters for KBS2 drama special “Too Bright Outside for Love”

Here’s two character posters for upcoming KBS2 drama special “Too Bright Outside for Love” (literal title) starring Choi Gang-Hee and Go Joon. The character posters are of Kim Yang-Hee (Choi Gang-Hee) and Lee Pil-Yong (Go Joon) and the caption on the teaser posters states in Korean “Let’s love, today too.” “Too Bright Outside for Love” is part of the annual KBS Drama Special series which will being airing this September. For the drama series, Choi Gang-Hee will play a stage director. She meets someone she knew from her college days played by Go Joon.

Teaser trailer #3 for KBS2 drama series “Lovely Horribly”

Teaser trailer #3 added for upcoming KBS2 drama series “Lovely Horribly” starring Park Si-Hoo and Song Ji-Hyo. Teaser trailer #3 begins with man’s voice stating “Ghost Love is screenwriter Oh’s work.” A woman’s voice then states “Due to the drama series script, some strange things keep occurring.” The drama series is setup as horror/romantic-comedy and follows the fateful encounter of a top star Philip Yoo and drama series screenwriter Oh Eul-Soon.

“Lovely Horribly” first airs later tonight, August 13, 2018, in South Korea.

Jung Yoo-Mi offered lead female role in OCN drama series “Priest”

Jung Yoo-Mi has been offered the lead female role in upcoming OCN drama series “Priest.” Actor Yeon Woo-Jin has already received an offer to play the lead male role and he is still “positively considering” the offer. If Jung Yoo-Mi accepts her offer which she is positively considering, she will play Ham Eun-Ho. She is a doctor and works in the emergency room at a hospital.

Air dates for “Priest” is still in discussions.

First script reading for JTBC drama series “The Beauty Inside”

First script reading for JTBC drama series “The Beauty Inside” took place July 22, 2018. Main cast members including Seo Hyun-JinLee Min-KiLee Da-Hee, Ahn Jae-Hyeon, Moon Ji-In, Lee Tae-Ri, Na Young-Hee and Ryu Hwa-Young (former member of ’T-ara’) attended the read through. After the script reading finished, Seo Hyun-Jin stated “Now, I realize that the drama series will finally begin. We will stay healthy and work hard under the hot summer weather, so I hope people look forward to the drama series a lot.” Lee Min-Ki also stated “I look forward to the good acting combination. We will work hard and enjoy ourselves.” The drama series revolves around the romance between Han Se-Kye (Seo Hyun-Jin) and Seo Do-Jae (Lee Min-Ki). The woman lives with a different appearance one week every month and the man is unable to recognize faces.

“The Beauty Inside” first airs September 17, 2018 in South Korea.
