Kim Hyun-Joo cast in Netflix movie “Jung-E”

Kim Hyun-Joo is cast for the lead role in Netflix sci-fi film “Jung-E.” Actor Ryoo Kyung-Soo is also cast for a major supporting character role and actress Kang Soo-Yeon was previously announced to play a major supporting character role. The film will be directed by Yeon Sang-Ho (“Train To Busan“). For the film, Kim Hyun-Joo will play soldier Jung-E. She takes part in a brain cloning experiment. The movie is set in the 22nd century, where humans live in a man made shelter due to climate change and a war erupts between the inhabitants.

So Ji-Sub cast in MBC drama “Dr. Lawyer”

So Ji-Sub is cast for the lead role in new MBC drama series “Dr. Lawyer.” The drama series will be directed by Lee Yong-Seok (“Haechi“) and scripted by Jang Hong-Cheol (“Class of Lies“). In “Dr. Lawyer,” So Ji-Sub will play Han Yi-Han. He was once an elite surgeon, but one surgery ruined his career. 4 years later, he works as an attorney, specializing in medical malpractice suits.

“Dr. Lawyer” will first air sometime during the first half of 2022 in South Korea.

Kim Hee-Seon cast in MBC drama “Tomorrow”

Kim Hee-Seon is cast for the lead role in MBC drama series “Tomorrow” (literal title). The fantasy themed drama series is based on webcomic “Naeil” by Ra Ma. In “Tomorrow,” Kim Hee-Seon will play a charismatic angel of death. She is part of a crisis management team that tries to save suicidal people from taking their own lives.

“Tomorrow” will first air during the first half of 2022 in South Korea.

Son Ye-Jin cast in JTBC drama “Thirty Nine”

Son Ye-Jin is cast for the lead female role in JTBC drama series “Thirty Nine” (literal title) co-starring Jeon Mi-Do and Kim Ji-Hyun. Son Ye-Jin will play 39-year-old Cha Mi-Zo. She is friends with characters played by Jeon Mi-Do and Kim Ji-Hyun, who are also 39-years-old. Actor Yeon Woo-Jin has receivd an offer to play the lead male role and he is currently “positively considering” his offer.

“Thirty Nine” will consist of 12 episodes and filming will begin August, 2021. Air date for the drama series has not yet been announced.
