Takako Matsu, Suzu Hirose, Masaharu Fukuyama and Ryunosuke Kamiki are cast in movie “Last Letter.” The film is written and directed by Shunji Iwai. For Takako Matsu and Shunji Iwai they previously worked together in 1998 movie “April Story.” Filming for “Last Letter” will begin July 24, 2018 and finish August, 2018. Shooting locations will include Sendai and other areas of Miyagi Prefecture and also Tokyo. The film is set in the present day and will have plenty of flashback scenes to the main character’s high school days. Takako Matsu will play Yuri Kishibeno. She goes to her late sister’s high school reunion to inform them of her sister’s passing, but she is mistaken for her sister. She then meets her first love played by Masaharu Fukuyama who also mistakes her for her late sister.
“Last Letter” will be released sometime next year in Japan.
Teaser trailer and poster added for movie “Day and Night” starring Shinnosuke Abe and Masanobu Ando. Movie is directed by Michihito Fujii (“Oh! Father“) and produced by popular actor Takayuki Yamada. Supporting cast for the film has also been revealed and they include Kaya Kiyohara, Tetsushi Tanaka, Manami Konishi, Aimi Satsukawa, Motoki Fukami, Ryo Fujimoto, Sho Kasamatsu, Reina Ikehata, Takashi Yamanaka, Yasushi Fuchikami, Hiroyuki Watanabe, Shigeru Muroi.
Lastly, release date for “Day and Night” is now set for January 26, 2019 in Japan.
Main trailer and poster added for movie “Koi no Shizuku” starring Rina Kawaei and Hayato Onozuka. Movie is directed by Naoki Segi and scripted by Yoshinobu Kamo. The film also features one of the last performances by Ren Osugi who passed away earlier this year. Story for “Koi no Shizuku” follows a young woman who begins working at a sake brewery.
“Koi no Shizuku” will be released October 20, 2018.
Teaser posters and teaser trailer added for upcoming movie “Killing” starring Sosuke Ikematsu and Yu Aoi. Movie is written and directed by Shinya Tsukamoto. The film is set in Edo era Japan and Sosuke Ikematsu plays the main character who is a ronin. “Killing” will screen in the competition section at this year’s Venice Film Festival (August 29-September 8, 2018) and will open November 24, 2018 in Japan.

Movie is based on a novel “Ozu no Sekai” by Yoichi Komori and directed by Takafumi Hatano (“SP: The Motion Picture“). The film is set at an amusement park in a rural area. Main character Kurumi Namihiro (Haru) thought she landed a job with a high end hotel, but she is sent to work at its subsidiary … the amusement park.

Tatsuya Fujiwara is cast in movie “The Sun Does Not Move” (literal title) and WOWOW drama series “The Sun Does Not Move” (literal title). The movie version is based on Shuichi Yoshida novel’s “Taiyo wa Ugokanai” and “Mori wa Shitte Iru,” while the WOWOW drama series will have an original screenplay. In the movie and drama series, Tatsuya Fujiwara will play main character Kazuhiko Takano. He is part of a spy organization “An Tsuushin” and they are after innovative solar energy technology that other countries are attempting to attain. Filming for the movie and drama series will take place simultaneously and filming will take place in Japan and overseas. Eiichiro Hasumi will direct the movie and drama series.
Movie “The Sun Does Not Move” will be released in 2020 and the WOWOW drama series will air sometime in 2020.
Trailer and poster added for movie “Itsumo Tsukiyo ni Kome no Meshi” starring Aina Yamada and Soko Wada. The film follows a young woman who goes to a small town to takeover an izakaya restaurant that her mother ran. The them song for the movie is “Yuki” by Kayoko Yoshizawa and the theme song appears in the trailer. Movie is written and directed by Ayaka Kato.

Movie is based on essay “Nichinichikorekojitsu: Ocha ga Oshietekureta 15 no Shiawase” by Noriko Morishita and directed by Tatsushi Omori. In addition, more supporting cast members has been announced for the film. Newly announced supporting cast members are Shingo Tsurumi, Mayu Tsuruta and Mizuki Yamashita (member of “Nogizaka46’). The film follows two cousins who begin taking tea ceremony lessons.

In addition, supporting cast has been announced for the film which will include Yudai Chiba, Ryo Narita, Kei Tanaka, Taizo Harada, Bakarhythm, Jun Kaname, Maryjun Takahashi, Kenta Sakai and Miwako Kakei. The film is based on novel “Sumaho o Otoshita dake ” by Akira Shiga and directed by Hideo Nakata. For the newly announced supporting characters, Yuda Chiba will play Detective Manabu Kagaya. He investigates a serial murder case. Ryo Narita will play Yoshiharu Urano. He is a system engineer at a security company. Kei Tanaka will play the boyfriend of main character Asami Inaba (Keiko Kitagawa). Lastly. Taizo Harada will play Detective Toru Busujima. He works with Detective Manabu Kagaya on the serial murder case.
