Teaser trailer and two female leads announced for movie “Inemuri Iwane”

Teaser trailer added for movie “Inemuri Iwane” starring Tori Matsuzaka. Meanwhile Fumino Kimura and Kyoko Yoshine are cast for lead female characters in the movie. Movie “Inemuri Iwane” is based on novel “Inemuri Iwane Edo Zoshi” by Yasuhide Saeki and directed by Katsuhide Motoki (“Samurai Hustle“).  NHK drama series “Crossing of Heat Haze” (“Kagero no Tsuj”) is also based on the same novel. Fumino Kimura will play Okon and Kyoko Yoshine will play Nao Kobayashi. In addition, supporting cast actors for “Inemuri Iwane” have been added on AsianWiki.

“Inemuri Iwane” will be released May 17, 2019 in Japan.

Poster and trailer #2 for movie “Whistleblower”

Poster and trailer #2 added for movie “Whistleblower” (English title) starring Mansai NomuraTeruyuki Kagawa and Mitsuhiro Oikawa. Movie is based on 2012 novel “Nanatsu no Kaigi” by Jun Ikeido. 2013 NHK drama series “The Seven Conferences” is also based on the same novel. In addition, the theme song for movie is 1997 song “Make You Feel My Love” by Bob Dylan. “Make You Feel My Love” plays in trailer #2.

“Whistleblower” will be released February 1, 2019 in Japan.

Teaser trailer for live-action film “Kingdom”

Teaser trailer added for upcoming live-action film “Kingdom” starring Kento Yamazaki, Ryo Yoshizawa and Kanna Hashimoto. The teaser trailer shows Shin (Kento Yamazaki) meeting Eisei (Ryo Yoshizawa). Eisei was disinherited from the throne and to recapture the throne, the resistance, having only 50 fighters (including Shin), takes on 80,000 enemy troops. Movie is based on manga series “Kingdom” by Yasuhisa Hara and directed by Shinsuke Sato (“Gantz“/”Bleach“).

“Kingdom” will be released April 19, 2019 in Japan.

First still image of Masataka Kubota in live-action sequel film “Tokyo Ghoul 2”

Here’s the first still image of Masataka Kubota in live-action sequel film “Tokyo Ghoul 2” co-starring Shota Matsuda and Maika Yamamoto. The film is based on manga “Tokyo Ghoul” by Sui Ishida and follows 2017 live-action film “Tokyo Ghoul.” In the film, Masataka Kubota plays main character Ken Kaneki who is half-human and half-ghoul. Ghouls are monsters who look human, but eat human flesh.

In addition, release date for “Tokyo Ghoul 2” is now slotted for sometime during summer, 2019 in Japan.

Trailer and main cast announced for movie “Twelve Children Who Want to Die”

Trailer and main cast announced for upcoming movie “Twelve Children Who Want to Die” (literal title). The movie is based on novel “Jyuni Nin no Shinitai Kodomotachi” by Tow Ubukata and directed by Yukihiko Tsutsumi (“20th Century Boys“). The twelve main cast members are Hana Sugisaki, Mackenyu Arata, Takumi Kitamura (member of ‘Dish’), Mahiro Takasugi, Yuina Kuroshima, Wariko Akika, Ai Yoshikawa, Riku Hagiwara, Yuto Fuchino, Ryota Bando, Kotone Furukawa and Aisa Takeuchi. The film follows 12 kids who gather at an abandoned hospital to die, but they find the body of a boy already dead there. They try to find the killer.

“Twelve Children Who Want to Die” will be released January 25, 2019.

Trailer for live-action film “The Island of Cats” starring Shinosuke TatekawaKou Shibasaki and Kaoru Kobayashi. Movie is based on manga series “Neko to Jiichan” by Nekomaki and directed by Mitsuaki Iwago. The film follows 70-year-old Daikichi and his beloved cat. He lives on a small island. Kou Shibasak plays Michiko. She runs a cafe on the island.

“The Island of Cats” will be released February 22, 2019 in Japan.
