Hana Sugisaki is cast for the lead role in NTV drama series “It’s Love: Yankee-kun and White Cane Girl” (literal title of “Koi Desu: Yankee-kun to Hakujou Garu”). The drama series is based on webcomic “Yankee-kun to Hakujou Garu” by Uoyama. Hana Sugisaki will play Yukiko Akaza. She has a vision impairment and walks with a cane. The drama series is based on manga series “Ukiwa” by Munehiro Nomura. For the drama series, Mugi Kadowaki will play main character Maiko Nakayama. She learns her husband is having an affair and becomes closer to her husband’s boss/next door neighbor, played by Naotaro Moriyama.

TV Tokyo live-action drama series “Helical Labyrinth,” starring Kei Tanaka & Ken Yasuda, is now scheduled to air from October, 2021. The drama was originally to air from April, 2020, but the Covid-19 outbreak caused filming to be postponed. The 6 members play high school students who fight against their principal. Their principal uses majin powers to achieve his ambitions.

Eita Nagayama and Osamu Mukai are cast in NHK drama series “Bakumatsu Aiboden.” The drama series is set during Bakumatsu, which is the later years of the Edo period. Eita Nagayama and Osamu Mukai will play two men tasked with finding the person who attempted to murder the shogun. The drama series is based on 2008 novel “Aibo” by Takahisa Igarashi.
