Tomohisa Yamashita cast in Hulu drama “Drops of God”

Tomohisa Yamashita is cast for a co-lead role in Hulu live-action drama series “Drops of God” (working title). The drama series will be a co-production between Japan, U.S., and France. French actress Fleur Geffrie will play main character Kamille. She will take part in a wine tasting competition to win her late father’s valuable wine collection. Tomohisa Yamashita  will play Issei Toomine. He is a well known wine critic and competes against Kamille in the wine tasting competition. The drama series is based on manga series “Kami no Shizuku” by Shin Kibayashi, but will substitute the manga’s main character, who is a Japanese man, with a French female character.

Filming for “Drops of God” will begin in France this month and will also take place in Italy and Japan. “Drops of God” will stream on Hulu sometime next year.

Marika Matsumoto cast in TV Asahi drama “Will You Still Pledge Me Your Faithful Love?”

Marika Matsumoto is cast in TV Asahi live-action drama series “Will You Still Pledge Me Your Faithful Love?” (literal title). The drama series is based on manga series “Soredemo Ai wo Chikaimasu ka?” by Keiku Hagiwara. For “Will You Still Pledge Me Your Faithful Love?,” Marika Matsumoto will play married Jun Sumisu. After she takes a job, she sees her husband with another woman.

“Will You Still Pledge Me Your Faithful Love?” first airs October 2, 2021 in Japan.

Shunsuke Michieda & Ren Meguro are cast in TV Asahi live-action drama series “Vanishing My First Love” (literal title). The drama series is based on manga series “Kieta Hatsukoi” by Wataru Hinekure & Aruko. The drama series has a boy in high school assume that another boy in his class likes him because of whats written on his eraser. He is unaware that the other boy borrowed the eraser from a girl that likes him.

“Vanishing My First Love” first airs October, 2021 in Japan (takes over TV Asahi’s Saturday 11:30 PM time slot after “The High School Heroes“).

Noriko Eguchi and Eiji Akaso are cast in Fuji TV drama series “Super Rich.” The drama series features an original screenplay by Davis Eiichi Mizoi. For the drama series, Noriko Eguchi will play Mamoru Hyoga. She is rich and successful, but lonely inside. She is the CEO of a company and meets a young intern played by Eiji Akaso.

“Super Rich” first airs October, 2021 in Japan (takes over Fuji TV’s Thursday 10PM time slot after “My Fair Prince.”).

Nana Seino & Kentaro Sakaguchi cast in TBS drama “Only Just Married”

Nana Seino and Kentaro Sakaguchi are cast in TBS live-action drama series “Only Just Married” (literal title). The drama series is based on manga series “Konin Todoke ni Han wo Oshita dake desu ga” by Aoharu Yuki. The romantic-comedy script will have Nano Seino and Kentaro Sakaguchi playing two young adults who enter into a fake marriage for different reasons. The man proposes to the woman after having met only 30 minutes earlier.

“Only Just Married” will first air October, 2021 in Japan (takes over TBS’ Tuesday 10PM time slot after “Promise Cinderella“).

Yuriko Yoshitaka is cast in TBS drama series “Deepest Affection” (literal title of “Saiai”). The drama series features an original screenplay by Satoko Okudera & Yukako Shimizu and Ayuko Tsukahara directs the series. In the drama series, Yuriko Yoshitaka will play Rio Sanada. Her character becomes a CEO at the age of 30, but she also becomes a witness to a murder case.

Hidetoshi Nishijima, Rie Miyazawa, and Kyoko Yoshine are cast in NTV drama series “Real Criminal Flag” (literal title of “Shinhannin Flag”). The drama series is scripted by Minato Takano (“Kakegurui“) and directed by Noriyoshi Sakuma, Satoru Nakajima, Naoko Komuro. “Real Criminal Flag” is also planned to have 2 seasons, with season 1 airing from October, 2021 and season 2 airing from January, 2022.

Haru Kuroki and Yosuke Sugino are cast in TV Tokyo-Amazon Prime Video drama series “My Sister” (literal title). The drama series is based on manga series “Boku no Neechan” by Miri Masuda. Haru Kuroki and Yosuke Sugino will play siblings who live together. After work, they get together and talk about various things.

Hokuto Yoshino cast in TBS-MBS drama “Tokyo Seimenjo”

Hokuto Yoshino (‘The Rampage from Exile Tribe’) is cast for the lead role in TBS-MBS drama series “Tokyo Seimenjo.” Also cast in the drama series are Shuntaro Yanagi, So Okuno, Shiori Akita and Keiko Enoue. The drama series features an original screenplay and will revolve around an udon franchise restaurant. Hokuto Yoshino will play Kotaro Akamatsu. He begins to work there as its new manager, even though he previously worked at a hotel.

“Tokyo Seimenjo” first airs September, 2021 in Japan.

Kazuya Kamenashi cast in NHK drama “Justice”

Kazuya Kamenashi is cast for the lead role in NHK drama series “Justice.” The drama series is based on 2020 novel “Seigi no Tenbin” by Takeaki Daimon. For the drama series, Kazuya Kamenashi will play Kazuya Takano. He is a former surgeon and now works as an attorney. He works with a new law firm and is teamed with four other attorneys.

“Justice” will have 5 episodes and first air September 25, 2021.
