Ryoko Yonekura cast in TV Asahi series “Doctor-X Season 7”

Ryoko Yonekura is cast in TV Asahi drama series “Doctor-X Season 7.” Ryoko Yonekura will reprise her character of Michiko Daimon. Also cast to reprise their respective from prior seasons of “Doctor X” are Yuki UchidaKenichi EndoMasanobu KatsumuraKosuke SuzukiIttoku Kishibe and Toshiyuki Nishida. Season 7, will be set against a backdrop of a worldwide pandemic that challenges the medical system in Japan.

“Doctor-X” first airs October, 2021 in Japan (takes over TV Asahi’s Thursday 9PM time slot after “Emergency Interrogation Room“).

Nagisa Sekimizu & Toru Nakamura cast in TV Tokyo drama “Hachigatsu wa Yoru no Batting Center de”

Nagisa Sekimizu and Toru Nakamura are cast in TV Tokyo drama series “Hachigatsu wa Yoru no Batting Center de.” The drama series features an original screenplay that was inspired by cellphone gaming app “Cinderella Nine.” The drama series is set at batting cage center, where a mysterious man tries to solve problems of the centers’ clients using baseball theory.

“Hachigatsu wa Yoru no Batting Center de” first airs  July 7, 2021 in Japan.

Kasumi Arimura cast in WOWOW drama “Zenkamono” & movie version

Kasumi Arimura is cast in WOWOW live-action drama series “Zenkamono” and its sequel feature film”Zenkamono.” The drama series and movie are based on  manga series “Zenkamono” y Masahito Kagawa. The drama series will be air sometime this autumn and the sequel movie version will be released sometime in 2022. The screenplay for the movie is set several years after the drama series and is an original story. For “Zenkamono,” Kasumi Arimura will play Kayo Agawa. She works as a volunteer probation officer.

Toshiaki Karasawa and Yoko Maki are cast in NTV drama series “Voice II.” The drama series is a sequel to 2019 NTV drama series “Voice,” which is a remake of 2017 OCN drama series “Voice” starring Jang Hyuk & Lee Ha-Na. Toshiaki Karasawa and Yoko Maki will reprise their characters of Detective Shogo Higuchi and Emergency Call Center Leader Hikari Tachibana.

“Voice II” will air from July, 2021 in Japan (takes over NTV’s Saturday 10PM time slot after “Life’s Punchline“).

Shori Sato cast in WOWOW drama “I Want To Hold Aono-kun So Badly I Could Die

Shori Sato (‘Sexy Zone’) cast in WOWOW live-action drama series “I Want To Hold Aono-kun So Badly I Could Die.” The drama series is based on manga series “Aono-kun ni Sawaritai kara Shinitai” by Umi Shiina. In the drama series, Shori Sato will play Ryuhei Aono. He is a high school student and begins to date Yuri Kariya, but he dies in a car accident. He comes back as a ghost.

Fumi Nikaido is cast in TBS live-action drama series “Promise Cinderella.” The drama series is based on webcomic “Promise Cinderella” by Oreko Tachibana. The drama series has Fumi Nikaido playing housewife Hayame Katsuragi. Her husband suddenly informs her that he wants a divorce.

Shohei Miura & Yuki Yamada cast in NTV drama “Hakozume”

Shohei Miura and Yuki Yamada are cast for supporting roles in NTV live-action drama series “Hakozume” starring Erika Toda and Mei Nagano. The drama series is based on 2017 manga series “Hakozume: Koban Joshi no Gyakushu” by Miko Yasu. The drama series is set at a small police box station. Both Shohei Miura and Yuki Yamada will play detectives there. They work as a team and they graduated from the same police university as Seiko Fuji (Erika Toda).

“Hakozume” first airs July, 2021 in Japan.
