Fans will be torn in July as “W” will go up against KBS2 drama series “Uncontrollably Fond” starring Kim Woo-Bin and Bae Suzy.

Kanji Tsuda & Ren Komai are cast in movie “Name” (“Namae”). Movie will be directed by Akihiro Toda (“Yokotawaru Kanojo“) and screenplay by Yusuke Moriguchi (“Tsumugu Mono“). In the film, Kanji Tsuda plays Masao. His character has gone through many difficulties and uses other people’s names. He meets a strange high school student played by Ren Komai. Filming for the movie takes place from this summer around Ibaraki Prefecture and will finish September, 2016.

Actor Ji Chang-Wook has been offered the lead role in upcoming drama series “K2.” If Ji Chang-Wook accepts the offer, he will play the main character who is a bodyguard. The bodyguard is abandoned by his country and colleagues. tvN is in discussions to air the drama series later this year, possibly from September in South Korea. The drama series will be directed by Kwak Jung-Hwan (“The Fugitive: Plan B“) and scripted by Jang Hyeok-Rin (“Yong-Pal“).

Interesting enough, the early working title for the drama series translated into English was “Female Gangster, Hye-Jung,” but became “Doctors.” The early working title was in reference to Park Shin-Hye’s character of Hye-Jung. In her high school days, Hye-Jung was known to get into fights and her fighting prowess, but she put all that behind her to become a doctor.

Tomoyo Harada & Takumi Saito are cast in new NHK drama series “Unmei ni, Nita Koi.” The drama series falls within the romance genre, with Tomoyo Harada playing a divorcee in her 40’s. She supports herself and her teenage son by working for a delivering laundry service. Through her job, she meets a popular 30ish designer played by Takumi Saito.
“Unmei ni, Nita Koi” will first air September 23, 2016 in Japan.
Han Ye-Ri, Han Seung-Yeon (ex-‘Kara’ member), Park Eun-Bin, Hwa Young (ex-‘T-ara’ member) and Park Hye-Soo are all cast in new JTBC drama series “Age of Youth” (literal title). For the drama series, they will play university students who share a house together.
“Age of Youth” will first air this July in South Korea (takes over JTBC’s Friday and Saturday 8:30 PM time slot after “Mirror of the Witch.”).
