Jurina Matsui and Shigeyuki Totsugi cast in TBS drama series “Death Cash”

Jurina Matsui (‘SKE48’) and Shigeyuki Totsugi are cast in new TBS drama series “Death Cash.” The mystery themed drama series has Jurina Matsui playing university student Yuka Minami. Shigeyuki Totsugi will play Detective Takeshi Wakamoto. In the drama series, a friend of Yuka Minami suddenly dies with large amounts of 10,000 yen bills around her body and the 10,000 yen bills are stained in black. More people around Yuka Minami then die. Yuka Minami and Detective Takeshi Wakamoto work together to solve the mysterious deaths.

“Death Cash” first airs July 13, 2016 in Japan.

First still images of Park So-Dam in KBS2 drama series “Beautiful Mind”

Here’s the first still images of actress Park So-Dam in upcoming KBS2 drama series “Beautiful Mind” co-starring Jang Hyuk.

In drama series “Beautiful Mind,” Park So-dam plays Gye Jin-Sung. Her character works as a traffic police officer. She gets involved in a mysterious case at the hospital. Park So-Dam began filming for the drama series on June 4, 2016.

“Beautiful Mind” will first air June 20, 2016 in South Korea.

Reiko Takashima, Yoshiko Miyazaki and Atsuko Takahata are cast in TV Asahi drama series “Onnatachi no Tokusou Saizensen”

Reiko Takashima, Yoshiko Miyazaki and Atsuko Takahata are cast in TV Asahi drama series “Onnatachi no Tokusou Saizensen.” In the drama series, the three actresses play women who all work at the same police station, but none of them work as detectives. One lady works in the cafeteria, the other in the PR department and the other in general affairs. Yet, the three ladies like to gather in the cafeteria to go over cases and discover clues.

“Onnatachi no Tokusou Saizensen” first airs this July in Japan.

First script reading for tvN drama series “Entourage”

First script reading for tvN drama series “Entourage” took place May 28, 2016 at CJ E&M Center in Sangamdong, Seoul, South Korea. At the first script reading main cast members  Seo Kang-Joon, Cho Jin-Woong, Park Jung-Min, Lee Kwang-Soo, Lee Dong-Hwi, Kim Hye-In, Ahn So-Hee (former member of ‘Wonder Girls’) & Amber (‘f(x)’) all attended. “Entourage” is a remake of U.S. television series “Entourage” which aired on HBO from 2004-2011.

“Entourage” first airs October, 2016 in South Korea.

Jeon So-Min cast in MBC drama series “Something About 1%”

Jeon So-Min is cast in upcoming MBC drama series “Something About 1%” co-starring Ha Seok-Jin. Jeon So-Min will play lead female character Kim Da-Hyun. Her character is an elementary school teacher with a warm heart. She is also the type of person who will not tolerate injustice. Kim Da-Hyun becomes romantically involved with Lee Jae-In (Ha Seok-Jin).

The drama series is a remake of 2003 MBC drama series “”Something About 1%” which starred Gang Dong-Won and Kim Jung-Hwa in the lead roles. “Something About 1%” will air sometime later this year in South Korea.

Ryuhei Matsuda cast in Fuji TV drama series “Eigyo Bucho Kira Natsuko”

Ryuhei Matsuda is cast in upcoming Fuji TV drama series “Eigyo Bucho Kira Natsuko” starring Nanako Matsushima. In the drama series, Ryuhei Matsuda will play Keisuke Takagi. His character works as a creative director at an advertising firm. When he first started his job, he had a hard time and worked under Natsuko Kira (Nanako Matsushima). Natsuko Kira then took a maternity leave for 3 years and she has now returned to the company. Keisuke Takagi isn’t very nice to Natsuko upon her return, but he wants to show her that he has improved at his job.

“Eigyo Bucho Kira Natsuko” will be released this July in South Korea.

See list of winners at the 52nd PaekSang Arts Awards

The 52nd PaekSang Arts Awards just finished tonight in South Korea. Big winners include Lee Joon-Ik winning the “Grand Prize” in the movie division for his films “Dongju: The Portrait of a Poet” and “The Throne.” Movie “Assassination” received the “Best Film” award. On the drama series side, the “Grand Prize” went to KBS2 drama series “Descendants of the Sun” and “Best Drama” award went to tvN drama series “Signal.”
