Here’s the first still images of Lee Jong-Suk in upcoming MBC drama series “W” co-starring Han Hyo-Joo. In the drama series, Lee Jong-Suk plays Kang Chul. His character is the founder of a venture company and has 800 billion won ($687 million) in assets. His character is also intelligent and righteous.
“W” first airs July 20, 2016 in South Korea.
Upcoming SBS period drama series previously with the Korean working title of “Saimdang, the Herstory” has picked up the new Korean title of “Saimdang, Light’s Diary” (“Saimdang, Bitui Ilgi”). The drama series stars Lee Young-Ae and Song Seung-Heon. For Lee Young-Ae, it’s her first acting performance since 2005 film “Sympathy for Lady Vengeance.” Filming for the drama series finished June 4, 2016 and took 10 months to complete.
“Saimdang, Light’s Diary” is now slotted to first air sometime this October in South Korea.
Tadanobu Asano & Rena Tanaka are cast in new movie “Osanago Warera ni Umare.” Movie will be directed by Yukiko Mishima (“A Stitch of Life“) and based on the novel “Osanago Warera ni Umare” by Kiyoshi Shigematsu. Story for the film has Tadanobu Asano & Rena Tanaka playing husband and wife and they are both remarried. The wife has 2 daughters from her prior marriage which they care for together. After she gets pregnant again, things change in the family.
“Osanago Warera ni Umare” will be released sometime next year in Japan.
Yoo Seung-Ho has been offered the lead male role in new drama series “Man Living at My House” (literal title). The drama series is based on webcomic “Woorijibe Saneun Namja” by Yoo Hyun-Sook. Other drama series that has been adapted from Yoo Hyun-Sook’s webcomic are 2013 tvN drama series “Flower Boy Next Door” and 2015 tvN drama series “Ho-Goo’s Love.” If Yoo Seung-Ho accepts his offer, he will play Go Nan-Gil. His character is in his mid 20’s and former member of a legendary gang. In addition, KBS is having discussions to air “Man Living at My House” after the conclusion of the drama series “Moonlight Drawn by Clouds.” If KBS does air the drama series at that time, it will premiere sometime October, 2016 in South Korea.

Shuhei Nomura, Mugi Kadowaki, Takahiro Miura are cast in upcoming Fuji TV live-action drama special “Montage.” The drama series stars Sota Fukushi & Kyoko Yoshine. “Montage” is based on manga series “Sanoku en Jiken Kitan Montaju SINCE 1968.12.10” by Jun Watanabe and incorporates the real life incident of the unsolved 300 million yen robbery that occurred in 1968.
“Montage” will air June 25th and June 26th, 2016 in Japan.
