Kenichi Endo & Atsuro Watabe cast in Fuji TV-KTV drama series “Otosan to Yobasete”

Actors Kenichi Endo & Atsuro Watabe are cast in upcoming Fuji TV/KTV drama series “Otosan to Yobasete” (literally “Let Me Call You Father-in-Law”). In the drama series, both Kenich Endo and Atsuro Watabe play 51-years-old men. Kenichi Endo has been so absorbed with his work at a medium sized trading company that he has never had a chance to marry. He then meets a woman 23-years-old and hopes to marry her. Meanwhile, Atsuro Watabe plays a man that is proud of his family. He has a wife and 3 children. He’s also an executive at leading trading company. His 23-years-old daughter brings home the character played by Kenichi Endo as a perspective husband.

“Otosan to Yobasete” will first air January, 2016 in Japan.

Akari Hayami cast in Fuji TV drama special “Ms. Koizumi Loves Ramen Noodles SP”

Akari Hayami is cast in Fuji TV live-action drama special “Ms. Koizumi Loves Ramen Noodles SP.” Also cast for the drama special are Karen Miyama, Seika Furuhata, Ryo Narita & Mirei Tanaka (idol group ‘Super Girls’). Ryo Narita and Mirei Tanaka play new characters not found in the 2015 Fuji TV drama series “Ms. Koizumi Loves Ramen Noodles.” The drama special is based on manga series”Ramen Daisuki Koizumi san” by Naru Narumi.

For the drama special, Akari Hayami’s Koizumi character and Ryo Narita’s Mitsukuni Naruto character have a battle over their love for ramen. “Ms. Koizumi Loves Ramen Noodles SP” airs January 4, 2016 in Japan.

Kiichi Nakai, Yusuke Santamaria and Pierre Taki cast in WOWOW drama series “Kinpika”

Kiichi Nakai, Yusuke Santamaria and Pierre Taki are cast in upcoming 5 episode WOWOW drama series “Kinpika.” The drama series is based on novel “Kinpika” by popular author Jiro Asada. Some of Jiro Asada’s novels that have been adapted into movies include “Failan,” “When the Last Sword is Drawn,” and “Chateau de le Reine.”

Premise for drama series “Kinpika” has Kiichi Nakai playing a former yakuza member who spent 13 years in jail, Yusuke Santamaria a former secretary of a politician who became the fall guy for the politician and Pierre Taki a former self-defense official. They gather together under a retired detective (Katsuhiko Watabiki) to take revenge on those that betrayed them.

“Kinpika” first airs February 13, 2016 in Japan.

Cho Seung-Woo offered lead role in tvN drama series “Pied Piper”

Actor Cho Seung-Woo has been offered the lead role in upcoming tvN drama series “Pied Piper.” If he accepts the offer, Cho Seung-Woo will play Joo Sung-Chan. His character formally worked as a corporate negotiator, but now works as a negotiator at a police crisis negotiation team. The drama series will follow the police crisis negotiation team as they try to solve cases without using force. The drama series will be directed by Kim Hong-Sun and scripted by Ryoo Yong-Jae whom previously worked together in 2014 tvN drama series “Liar Game.” Cho Seung-Woo is currently “positively considering” the offer.

“Pied Piper” will first air March, 2016 in South Korea (taking over tvN’s Monday & Tuesday 11PM time slot after “Cheese in the Trap”).

first character posters for movie “Mood of the Day”

Here’s the first character posters for upcoming romantic-comedy film “Mood of the Day” starring Moon Chae-WonYoo Yeon-Seok. Movie is directed by Jo Kyu-Jang (“A Camel Doesn’t Leave Desert“). The story for “Mood of the Day” involves two people who meet on the high speed KTX train in South Korea. They spend a day together in the port city of Busan.

“Mood of the Day” is now slotted for release sometime this January, 2016 in South Korea.

Trailer #2 for movie “Too Young To Die!”

Second trailer added for upcoming film “Too Young To Die!” starring Tomoya Nagase, Ryunosuke Kamiki, Machiko Ono, Aoi Morikawa, Rie Miyazawa and Kenta Kiritani. The quirky comedy film is written and directed by Kankuro Kudo (“Brass Knuckle Boys“).

Story for “Too Young To Die!” revolves around a high school student (Ryunosuke Kamiki) who dies while on a school field trip and ends up in Hell. He then meets a rocker in Hell called Killer K (Tomoya Nagase). He receives training from Killer K to return to the human world and confess his love to a classmate.

“Too Young To Die!” will be released February 6, 2016 in Japan.
