Takaya Kamikawa & Atsuro Watabe cast in WOWOW drama series “Shizumanu Taiyo”

Takaya Kamikawa & Atsuro Watabe are cast in new WOWOW drama series “Shizumanu Taiyo.” The drama series consists of 20 episodes which is the longest yet for WOWOW and is based on 1995 novel “Shizumanu Taiyo” by Toyoko Yamasaki. 2009 movie “The Unbroken” is also based on the same novel. Story for the drama series is set an airline company which attempts to recover from a recent airplane crash and rampant corruption at the company.

“Shizumanu Taiyo” first airs sometime this spring in Japan.

Lee Sung-Min cast in movie “Real”

Actor Lee Sung-Min is cast in upcoming movie “Real” starring Kim Soo-Hyun. Movie is written and directed by Lee Jung-Sub. Lee Sung-Min’s character hasn’t been reveal for movie “Real,” but his character plays an important role in the film.

Meanwhile, Kim Soo-Hyun plays main character Jang Tae-Young. His character is a popular troubleshooter for clients from the underground (criminals). Filming for “Real” was originally scheduled to begin October, 2015, but, due to financing negotiations with Alibaba Pictures Group in China, filming is now scheduled to begin January, 2016.

Kankuro Nakamura, Tori Matsuzaka, Yuko Oshima cast in movie “Sanada Ten Braves”

Kankuro Nakamura, Tori Matsuzaka & Yuko Oshima (ex-AKB48 member) are all cast in new movie “Sanada Ten Braves.” The movie is based on the 2014 stage play “Sanada Juyushi” which Kankuro Nakamura & Tori Matsuzaka performed in. Director Yukihiko Tsutsumi and screenwriter Nozomi Makino also took part in the stage play and will perform same duties in the movie “Sanada Ten Braves.” Story for the film is set at the end of the Sengoku period and follows 10 ninja members who all serve under samurai Yukimura Sanada (real historical figure).

“Sanada Ten Braves” will be released September, 2016 in Japan.

Shin Ha-Kyun cast in tvN drama series “Pied Piper”

Actor Shin Ha-Kyun is cast for the lead male role in upcoming tvN drama series “Pied Piper” (working title). Actor Cho Seung-Woo was first offered the lead male role, but he ultimately declined the offer. Jo Yoon-Hee and Yu Jun-Sang are currently considering major supporting role offers for the drama series.

For tvN drama series “Pied Piper,” Shin Ha-Kyun will play Joo Sung-Chan. His character is in his mid-30’s and used to work as a top corporate negotiator. He now works as a specialist for a police crisis negotiation team. His attractive smile allows him to put people at ease and he uses in his job as a negotiator. Internally, he keeps track of cases in terms of gains and losses.

“Pied Piper” first airs March, 2016 in South Korea.

Kim Ji-Su, Lee Joon-Ho, Park Jin-Hee cast in tvN drama series “Memory”

Actress Kim Ji-Su and Lee Joon-Ho from Kpop group ‘2PM’ are cast in upcoming tvN drama series “Memory.” The drama series has already cast Lee Sung-Min in the main character role. Kim Ji-Su and Lee Joon-Ho were first offered their roles about a month ago and they have now accepted. Actresses Park Jin-Hee and Yoon So-Hee (“My Love Eun-Dong“) are also cast for a supporting role.

For drama series “Memory,” Kim Ji-Su will play Seo Young-Joo. Her character is the wife of main character Park Tae-Suk (Lee Sung-Min). Her life is comfortable with her husband being a famous lawyer, but it all changes when her husband is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.

Lee Joon-Ho will play attorney Jung Jin. His character graduated from the Judicial Research and Training Institute with top ranking scores, but he is scorned by his fellow attorney for having a self-mocking and unkind personality. Park Tae-Suk takes him in and they work together on cases.

Park Jin-Hee will play Na Eun-Sun. Her character is a judge and the ex-wife of Park Tae-Suk. Park Tae-Suk with his Alzheimer’s visits her repeatedly and she learns about his past pain which she did not know about when they were married.

Yoon So-Hee will plays Bong Sun-Hwa. She works at the law firm where Park Tae-Suk and Jung-Jin works. Her and Jung-Jin are the only ones at the law firm aware of Park Tae-Suk’s Alzheimer’s diagnosis.

“Memory” first airs March, 2016 in South Korea.
