Teaser poster and trailer for movie “Haruko’s Paranormal Laboratory”

Teaser poster and trailer added for upcoming movie “Haruko’s Paranormal Laboratory” starring Aoi Nakamura and Moeka Nozaki. Movie is written and directed by Lisa Takeba (“The Pinkie“). “Haruko’s Paranormal Laboratory” had its world premiere at the 44th International Film Festival Rotterdam earlier this year and the movie will have its general release December 5, 2015 in Japan. Aoi Nakamura does play a television that is transformed into a person in the quirky film.

Ryu Morioka, Tomoya Maeno, Haru Kuroki & Hirofumi Arai cast in movie “Emiabi no Hajimari to Hajimari”

Ryu Morioka, Tomoya Maeno, Haru Kuroki & Hirofumi Arai are all cast in movie “Emiabi no Hajimari to Hajimari.” The movie is written and directed by Kensaku Watanabe. Kensaku Watanabe won the best screenplay award at the 37th Japan Academy Prize for his screenplay adaptation of “The Great Passage.”

Story for “Emiabi no Hajimari to Hajimari” has Ryu Morioka playing Sanemichi. His character is a member of popular manzai comedy duo “Emiabi.’ His partner (Tomoya Maeno) though dies in a car accident. Sanemich then goes with Natsumi (Haru Kuroki) to visit a young girl whose older brother died in the car accident.

“Emiabi no Hajimari to Hajimari” will be released sometime next year in Japan.

Airing date for MBC drama special “Splash Splash Love” set for December 6th and 13th

Airing date for upcoming for MBC drama special “Splash Splash Love” is now set for December 6 and 13, 2015 in South Korea. The two episode drama special stars actress Kim Seul-Gi and Yoon Doo-Joon from Kpop group “Beast.” Story for “Splash Splash Love” has Kim Seul-Gi playing a high school student with an ability to transport herself on rainy days. She then somehow transports back in time to the Joseon Period. There, she meets a young King played by Yoon Doo-Joon.

Daniel Henney offered role in upcoming MBC drama series “Goodbye Mr. Black”

Daniel Henney has been offered a major supporting role in upcoming MBC drama series “Goodbye Mr. Black” which has already cast Lee Jin-Wook, Moon Chae-Won, Song Jae-Rim and Kim Kang-Woo.  If Daniel Henney accepts, he will play Kim Ji-Ryoon. His character works as an adviser for an investment trust and representative of an NGO organization. He supports main female character Swan (Moon Chae-Won). Daniel Henney is currently “positively considering” the offer.

Drama series “Goodbye Mr. Black” is scheduled to begin filming this December in South Korea.

Chiaki Kuriyama cast in TV Tokyo drama “Nobunaga Moyu”

Chiaki Kuriyama is cast in upcoming TV Tokyo historical drama series “Nobunaga Moyu” starring Noriyuki Higashiyama. The drama series is based on 2001 novel “Nobunaga Moyu” by Ryutaro Abe and revolves around powerful samurai Nobunaga Oda and his ambitions to unify Japan. In the drama series, Chiaki Kuriyama  will play Haruko Kajuji. Her character turns to Nobunaga Oda to protect the Imperial Court, but she falls in love with him in the process.

“Nobunaga Moyu” first airs January 2, 2016 in Japan.

Haru Kuroki, Gou Ayano, Cocco cast in Shunji Iwai’s “The Bride of Rip Van Winkle”

Haru Kuroki, Gou Ayano & Cocco are cast in new movie “The Bride of Rip Van Winkle” written and directed by Shunji Iwai (“Swallowtail Butterfly“/”Hana and Alice“). Story for the film follows Nanami Minagawa (Haru Kuroki) who decides to get married and hires an agency run by Amuro (Gou Ayano) to place people at her wedding as her family members. Later, she gets kicked out of her house and works odd part-time jobs for Amuro.

Haruka Ayase, Haruma Miura and Asami Mizukawa are cast in TBS drama “Never Let Me Go”

Haruka Ayase, Haruma Miura and Asami Mizukawa are cast in upcoming romance/sci-fi TBS drama series “Never Let Me Go.” The drama series is based on novel “Never Let Me Go” by British-Japanese author Kazuo Ishiguro, The novel was previously adapted into 2010 U.S. film “Never Let Me Go” directed by Mark Romanek.

Story for drama series “Never Let Me Go” deals with three people (played by Haruka Ayase, Haruma Miura and Asami Mizukawa) who attended the same isolated boarding school years ago. The three are actual clones and they were produced for eventual organ harvesting.

“Never Let Me Go” first airs January, 2016 in Japan.
