Here’s new character stills from upcoming live-action film “Blade of the Immortal” starring Takuya Kimura. The character stills are of Sota Fukushi as Kagehisa Anotsu, Hana Sugisaki as Rin Asano, Hayato Ichihara as Shira and Erika Toda as Makie Otonotachibana. Live-action film “Blade of the Immortal” is based on manga series “Mugen no Junin” by Hiroaki Samura and directed by Takashi Miike.
“Blade of the Immortal” will be released April 29, 2017 in Japan.
Sayuri Yoshinaga and Masato Sakai are cast in new movie “Kita no Sakuramori.” Movie is directed by Yojiro Takita (“Departures“). The film follows Shujiro Ezure (Masato Sakai) as he returns to Japan after finding success in the U.S.. He visits the town of Abashiri where his mother still lives alone. In 1945, his mother fled her home in the Sakhalin Island after the Soviet Union invaded the area and arrived in Abashiri with her two sons.
“Kita no Sakuramori” will be released sometime during spring, 2018 in Japan.
Kim Ji-Won has been offered the lead female role in upcoming KBS2 drama series “Third-Rate My Way.” Park Seo-Joon has already received an offer to play the lead male role and Chun Woo-Hee already received an offer to play the same lead female role as Kim Ji-Won. All three performers are considering offers for their respective roles. If Kim Ji-Won is cast, she will play Choi Ae-Ra. Her character dreamed of becoming a TV announcer, but she now works at the information desk of a department store.
“Third-Rate My Way” will first air May, 2017 in South Korea.
Teaser poster added for upcoming movie “One Line” starring Siwan (“ZE:A”) and Jin Goo. The movie has Siwan playing university student Min-Jae. He becomes involved with a team of bank robbers led by Suk-Goo (Jin-Goo). The teaser poster also reveals that “One Line” will be released sometime during late March, 2017 in South Korea.
First teaser trailer added for upcoming movie “I Want to Eat Your Pancreas” (literal title) starring Takumi Kitamura, Minami Hamabe, Shun Oguri & Keiko Kitagawa. Movie is based on 2015 novel “Kimi no Suizo wo Tabetai” by Yoru Sumino and directed by Sho Tsukikawa. “I Want to Eat Your Pancreas” will be released July 28, 2017 in Japan.
Kwon Sang-Woo is now cast in upcoming KBS2 drama series “Mystery Queen” co-starring Choi Gang-Hee. In the drama series, Kwon Sang-Woo will play lead male character Detective Ha Wan-Seung. He prefers to follow his intuition rather than relying on reasoning and he also has a hot temper. He gets involves with Yoo Seol-Ok (Choi Gang-Hee ) who appears at a crime scene and does investigations by herself. At first they don’t like each other, but he eventually acknowledges Yoo Seok-Ok’s reasoning abilities. They team up together to investigate cases together.
Yuina Kuroshima and Nozomu Kotaki (‘Johnny’s West’) are cast in new live-action film “Principal.” The movie is based on manga series “Purinshiparu” by Ryo Ikuemi and directed by Tetsuo Shinohara. In the film, Yuina Kuroshima plays high school student Shima Sumitomo. She decides to live with her father and moves to Hokkaido. There, she meets the two most popular guys at her school (one of whom played by Nozomu Kotaki), but the school has a rule about the two guys that Shima Sumitomo is unaware of.
“Principal” will be released sometime next year in Japan.

Meanwhile, still images above are of Ko So-Young and Yoon Sang-Hyun in KBS2 drama series “Ms. Perfect.” In the drama series, they play married couple Sim Jae-Bok (Ko So-Young) and Koo Jung-Hee (Yoon Sang-Hyun). The top still image shows when they were a happy couple, the scene shows Sim Jae-Bok happy as she just gets a job. The two photos in the second row show the couple in the present day and their not so happy marriage.
“Ms. Perfect” first airs February 27, 2017 in South Korea.
Here’s Ha Seok-Jin’s first still images from MBC drama series “Self Radiation Office” co-starring Ko Ah-Sung. These still images are from scenes filmed recently in Jung District, Seoul, South Korea. Setup for the scene has Seo Woo-Jin (Ha Seok-Jin) interviewing potential new employees.

Masaki Suda and Kenta Kiritani are cast in movie “Hibana: Spark.” Fumino Kimura, Shuji Kawatani (comedy duo ‘Nicho Kenju’) and Masaki Miura are also cast in supporting roles. Movie “Hibana: Spark” is based on 2015 novel “Hibana” by Naoki Matayoshi. Online streaming company Netflix produced and distributed drama series version “Hibana: Spark” starring Kento Hayashi & Kazuki Namioka last year, which will re-air on NHK beginning February 26, 2016. In the upcoming movie version, Masaki Suda will play aspiring comedian Tokunaga and Kenta Kiritani will play veteran comedian Kamiya. Movie will be directed by Itsuji Itao.
Movie version “Hibana: Spark” will be released November, 2017 in Japan.
