Teaser trailer and poster for movie “Part Time Spy”

Teaser trailer and poster for movie “Part Time Spy” starring Gang Ye-Won, Han Chae-Ah & Namgung Min. Movie is directed by Kim Deok-Soo (“Dad for Rent“). Premise for the action-comedy film has Gang Ye-Won playing NSA temp worker Jang Young-Sil. When her boss at the national security agency becomes the victim of a voice phishing scam, she sees it as an opportunity to land a full time job there. She teams up with Detective Na Jung-An (Han Chae-Ah) to take down the phishing scam operation.

“Part Time Spy” will be released March, 2017 in South Korea.

Movie “8,000 Miles” adapted into TV Tokyo drama series “SR Saitama’s Rapper: Mike’s Lane”

Ryusuke Komakine, Shingo Mizusawa and Eita Okuno are cast in TV Tokyo drama series “SR Saitama’s Rapper: Mike’s Lane.” All three actors appeared in the original 2009 movie “8000 Miles” (“SR: Saitama no Rapper”) and they will reprise their characters in the new TV Tokyo drama series version. Yu Irie will also direct the drama series. Story for the drama series will take place 10 years after the movie “8000 Miles.”

“SR Saitama’s Rapper: Mike’s Lane” first airs April 7, 2017 in Japan.

Lee Byung-Hun and Park Jung-Min cast in movie “That’s Only My World”

Lee Byung-Hun and Park Jung-Min are cast in new movie “That’s Only My World” (literal title). The film will be directed by Choi Sung-Hyun (screenwriter for movie “The Fatal Encounter“). Story for the film revolves around two brothers. Lee Byung-Hun plays the older brother who is a washed-up boxer. Park Jung-Min will play the younger brother. He is a gifted pianist and has a physical disability. Their relationship is mended through their mother and stories of her difficult past. Filming for “That’s Only My World” begins June, 2017 in South Korea.

Masato Sakai and Mitsuki Takahata cast in live-action film “Destiny Kamakura Monogatari”

Masato Sakai and Mitsuki Takahata are cast in live-action film “Destiny Kamakura Monogatari.” The film is based on manga series “Kamakura Monogatari” by Ryohei Saigan and directed by Takashi Yamazaki. Director Takashi Yamazaki previously adapted manga series “San-chome no Yuhi” by Ryohei Saigan into live-action film “Always: Sunset on Third Street.” Also cast in the movie in supporting roles are Shinichi Tsutsumi, Min Tanaka, Jun Kunimura, Hiroko Yakushimaru, Tomokazu Miura, Sakura Ando and Tamao Nakamura.

In live-action film “Destiny Kamakura Monogatari,” Masato Sakai and Mitsuki Takahata will play husband and wife Masakazu Isshiki and Akiko Isshiki. They live in Kamakura, Japan with Masakazu Isshiki working as a mystery writer. They also solve mysterious cases that takes place in Kamakura.

“Destiny Kamakura Monogatari” will be released December 9, 2017 in Japan.

Yasushi Fuchikami and Shunsuke Tanaka cast in live-action film “Double Mints”

Yasushi Fuchikami and Shunsuke Tanaka (‘Boys and Men’) are cast in live-action film “Double Mints.” In addition, Shunpei Kawagoishi and Kenta Suga are cast to play the two main characters in their high school days. Ami Tomite, Kazuya Takahashi and Shigemitsu Ogi are also cast in supporting roles. The film is based on manga series”Double Mints” by Asumiko Nakamura and directed by Eiji Uchida. Story for the film follows two men with the same name of Mitsuo Ichikawa, but spelled differently in kanji. They went to the same high school. Back then, one was more of a subordinate to the other. Now, one of the men is a hoodlum and tells the other Mitsuo Ichikawa that he killed a woman. They become accomplices and build a new relationship.

“Double Mints will be released sometime this summer in Japan.

Kim Tae-Ri cast in movie “1987”

Kim Tae-Ri is cast in upcoming movie “1987” co-starring Kim Yun-Seok, Ha Jung-Woo & Gang Dong-Won. Movie is based on a true story and directed by Jang Joon-Hwan (“Save the Green Planet!“/”Hwayi“).

Story for the film revolves around the arrest and torture student activist Park Jong-Chul. In 1987, he was captured by the police and tortured to death. The police and government attempt to cover up his death, but students and the media try to reveal the truth. Kim Tae-Ri will play university student Yeon-Hee. She gets involved in the democratic uprising in June, 1987 and she is in a romantic relationship with a university student play by Gang Dong-Won.

Filming for the movie begins sometime during the first half of this year in South Korea.
