Lee Dong-Hwi, Kim Dong-Wook and Hoya cast in MBC drama series “Self Radiation Office”

Lee Dong-Hwi, Kim Dong-Wook and Hoya (‘INFINITE’) are cast in upcoming MBC drama series “Self Radiation Office” starring Ko Ah-Sung & Ha Seok-Jin. All three of the actors will play major supporting characters in the drama series.

In the drama series, Lee Dong-Hwi will play Do Ki-Taek. He is a new contract employee like main character Eun Ho-Won (Ko Ah-Sung). He comes from a poor background, but he believes love is everything.

Kim Dong-Wook will play play Seo Hyun. He is a doctor and the second son of a wealthy family who runs the company Eun Ho-Won and Do Ki-Taek works for. He begins to support Eun Ho-Won like a daddy-long-legs benefactor.

Hoya will play Jang Kang-Ho. He is also a new contract employee like Eun Ho-Won and Do Ki-Taek. He comes from a wealthy family background and has a passive personality.

“Self Radiation Office” first airs March, 2017 in South Korea.

Yu Aoi and Sadao Abe cast in movie “Kanojo ga Sono Mei wo Shiranai Toritachi”

Yu Aoi and Sadao Abe are cast in movie “Kanojo ga Sono Mei wo Shiranai Toritachi.” The film is based on 2006 novel of same name by Mahokaru Numata and directed by Kazuya Shiraishi (“The Devil’s Path”). In the movie “Kanojo ga Sono Mei wo Shiranai Toritachi,” Yu Aoi plays a woman named Towako. Even though they broke up 8 years ago, Towako can’t forget a man named Kurosaki. She lives with an older man Jinji (Sadao Abe) out of convenience, but she doesn’t care for him at all. She then meets a married man who reminds her of Kurosaki. Filming for the movie began October 8, 2016 in Osaka and finished a month later.

“Kanojo ga Sono Mei wo Shiranai Toritachi” will be released sometime during autumn, 2017 in Japan.

Here’s still images of Chae Soo-Bin‘s first scene in upcoming MBC drama series “Rebel: Thief Who Stole the People” co-starring Yoon Gyun-Sang & Kim Sang-Joong. Filming for Chae Soo-Bin’s first scene took place at the end of December, 2016 on Hwangmae Mountain in Hapcheon, South Korea. Filming took place under harsh weather conditions with strong winds and cold weather.

Chae Soo-Bin’s first scene will appear in ep.1 of “Rebel: Thief Who Stole the People” which airs later tonight in South Korea.

Fumika Shimizu and Rena Matsui cast in movie “Warau Manekineko” and TBS drama series “Warau Manekineko”

Fumika Shimizu and Rena Matsui (former SKE48 member) are cast in movie “Warau Manekineko” and TBS-MBS drama series “Warau Manekineko.” Both titles are based on 2004 novel “Warau Manekineko” by Yukihisa Yamamoto. The plot for the movie and drama series will tell different stories about the two main characters: Fumika Shimizu as Hitomi Takashiro and Rena Matsui as Akako Honda. The two women work together as comedy duo “Akako to Hitomi,” but they have found little success to date. For the movie “Warau Manekineko,” the two women catch a kid trying to steal Hitomi’s bicycle and this causes their fate to change.

Drama series “Warau Manekineko” will first air March 19, 2017 on MBS and March 21, 2017 on TBS. The drama series will consist of 4 episodes. The movie version of “Warau Manekineko” will be released April 29, 2017 in Japan. Both the movie and drama series will be directed by Ken Iizuka.

Masami Nagasawa and Tsuyoshi Muro character visuals for live-action film “Gintama”

Here’s character visuals (posters) of Masami Nagasawa and Tsuyoshi Muro in upcoming live-action film “Gintama” starring Shun Oguri.

In the upcoming live-action film, Masami Nagasawa plays Tae Shimura. She is the older sister of Shinpachi Shimura (Masaki Okada). In the character visual, she possesses a gentle smile, but she is extremely capable in combat. Meanwhile, Tsuyoshi Muro plays Gengai Hiraga. He is an inventor whom Gintoki Sakata (Shun Oguri) trusts. He owns a karakuri (traditional mechanical puppets) store.

“Gintama” will be released July 14, 2017 in Japan.

Song Seung-Heon offered role in drama series “Wind and Cloud and Rain”

Song Seung-Heon has been offered a role in new drama series “Wind and Cloud and Rain” (literal title). The drama series is based on novel “Baramgwa Gooreumgwa Bi” by Lee Byung-Joo and will be directed by Yun Sang-Ho. Yun Sang-Ho is the director of currently airing SBS drama series “Saimdang, Light’s Diary” which co-stars Song Seung-Heon. If Song Seung-Heon accepts his offer, he will play historical figure Heungseon Daewongun. His character is the father of a king, but he is actually the most powerful man in Joseon. The story mixes fictional characters and real historical characters. Exact network and airing dates have yet to be finalized.

Teaser trailer for live-action film “Ani ni Aisaresugite Komattemasu”

Teaser trailer added for upcoming live-action film “Ani ni Aisaresugite Komattemasu” starring Tao Tsuchiya, Ryota Katayose & Yudai Chiba. The film revolves around an unusual love triangle between a brother and sister who turn out to be not blood-related and the girl’s first love. Movie is based on manga series “Ani ni Ai Saresugite Komattemasu” by Rina Yagami.

“Ani ni Aisaresugite Komattemasu” will be released June 30, 2017 in Japan.

Yuina Kuroshima cast in WOWOW drama series “Tokyo Sumikko Gohan”

Yuina Kuroshima cast in new WOWOW drama series “Tokyo Sumikko Gohan.” The drama series is based on 2015 novel “Tokyo Sumikko Gohan” by Nariko Narita and directed by Yukiko Mishima (“Bread of Happiness“). In the drama series, Yuina Kuroshima will play lonely high school student Fu Sawatari. She discovers a house “Sumikko Gohan” where people gather to eat happily.

“Tokyo Sumikko Gohan” will first air May, 2017 in Japan.

Filming for movie “Little Forest” begins

Filming for upcoming movie “Little Forest,” starring Kim Tae-Ri, Ryoo Joon-Yeol & Jin Ki-Joo, began January 21, 2017 at a village in North Gyeongsang Province, South Korea. The first scene filmed has Hye-Won (Kim Tae-Ri), who came to the village from the city, and her two long-time friends, Jae-Ha (Ryoo Joon-Yeol) and Eun-Sook (Jin Ki-Joo), gathering together. The film is directed by Yim Soonrye.

Movie is based on manga series “Little Forest” by Daisuke Igarashi which was previously adapted into the films “Little Forest: Summer & Autumn” & “Little Forest: Winter & Spring.” The Korean version will include all 4 seasons in the film. Photo above is from the first script reading for the film.

Lee Sang-Yoon and Park Se-Young cast in SBS drama series “Whisper”

Lee Sang-Yoon and Park Se-Young are cast in upcoming SBS drama series “Whisper” co-starring Lee Bo-Young. Lee Sang-Yoon will play lead male character Lee Dong-Joon and Park Se-Young will play major supporting character Choi Soo-Yeon. Already cast in the drama series in supporting roles are Kwon Yool and Yoon Joo-Hee. The drama series will also mark the second time Lee Sang-Yoon and Lee Bo-Young will star together in a drama series (previously they starred in 2012-2013 KBS2 drama series “Seo-Young, My Daughter“).

Filming for “Whisper” begins February 1, 2017 in South Korea.
