Im Seul-Ong from Kpop group ‘2AM,’ Kyung Soo-Jin, Park Jung-Min and Hong Eun-Hee are all cast in omnibus horror film “Horror Stories Ⅲ.” Theme for “Horror Stories III,” will have segments set in the past, present and future. For the past segment, Baek Seung-Bin (“Members of the Funeral“) will direct that segment. For the present segment, Kim Sun (“White“) will direct and for the future segment, his brother Kim Gok (“White“) will direct. The three stories will be tied together by a segment directed by Min Kyu-Dong (“All About My Wife“).
Filming for “Horror Stories Ⅲ” has just begun and the movie will be released sometime during the first half of 2016 in South Korea.
Here’s the first still image of actress Kim Min-Hee in upcoming movie “Fingersmith” directed by Park Chan-Wook (“Oldboy“). Filming for “Fingersmith” finished October 31, 2015 in South Korea and took about 5 months to finish. Filming also took place in Japan. Movie “Fingersmith” is based on British novel “Fingersmith” by Sarah Waters.
“Fingersmith” will be released sometime next year in South Korea.

Movie is based on 2012 novel “Kuripi” by Yutaka Maekawa and directed by Kiyoshi Kurosawa (“Tokyo Sonata“). The caption on the teaser poster says “That person is not my father .. Here’s a first promotional behind the scenes cut of lead actors Park Hae-Jin & Kim Go-Eun in upcoming tvN drama series “Cheese in the Trap.” The drama series is based on popular webcomic “Cheese in the Trap” by Soon Ggi.
Filming for “Cheese in the Trap” began September, 2015 and the drama series will first air January 4, 2016 in South Korea.
Hinako Sano, Anna Iriyama (‘AKB48’) and Yuko Fueki are cast in guest roles in currently airing Fuji TV drama series “Siren” starring Tori Matsuzaka & Fumino Kimura.
Hinako Sano and Anna Iriyama will appear in ep.3 which airs later today, November 3, 3015. Hinako Sano will play Ai and Anna Iriyama will play Rena. Their characters are hostesses at an exclusive club and they try to seduce Detective Shinobu Satomi (Tori Matsuzaka). Meanwhile, actress Yuko Fueki will appear in ep.4 which airs November 10, 2015. She will play Doctor Kuramoto.
“Siren” airs Tuesdays at 10pm in Japan.
Actor Lee Sung-Min is cast in upcoming tvN drama series “Memory.” He will play main character Park Tae-Suk in the drama series. Story for “Memory” will deal with an attorney (Lee Sung-Min) who is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Interesting to note, upcoming 2016 SBS drama series “Remember,” starring Yoo Seung-Ho & Park Min-Young, also deals with an attorney who is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.
Filming for “Memory” begins January, 2016 and the drama series will first air sometime during March, 2016 in South Korea.
Main trailer added for upcoming Japanese-Turkish film “Kainan 1890” starring Seiyo Uchino, Kenan Ece and Shiori Kutsuna. Movie is directed by Mitsutoshi Tanaka and screenplay by Eriko Komatsu. Director Mitsutoshi Tanaka and screenwriter Eriko Komatsu previously worked together in 2014 film “Blossom Bloom” & 2013 film “Ask This of Rikyu.”
Movie “Kainan 1890” tells two stories. One story is set in 1890 and follows the Turkish battleship Ertugrul that sinks off the coast of Japan. Local residents make a valiant effort to save the Turkish crew members. The second story is set in 1985 and follows Japanese nationals that are trapped in Iran during the Iran-Iraq war. Turkey nationals attempt to save the Japanese nationals.
“Kainan 1890” will be released December 5, 2015 in Japan.
First script reading for upcoming MBC every1 drama series “Imaginary Cat” took place recently at MBC Dream Center in Ilsan, South Korea. At the script reading, main cast members Yoo Seung-Ho, Cho Hye-Jung and Scholar (from Kpop girl group ‘MAMAMOO’) all attended. Drama series “Imaginary Cat” is based on webcomic “Sangsanggoyangi” by Kim Gyung.
“Imaginary Cat” first airs November 24, 2015 in South Korea.
Actor Park Seo-Joon, actress Go Ara and actor Park Hyung-Sik (ZE:A) have been offered lead roles in new period drama series “Hwarang.” The title of the drama series refers to an elite group of young men known as “Hwarang” or “Flowering Knights” that existed during the Silla Kingdom. The Hwarang were accomplished in physical activities like horsemanship and swordsmanship, but also known for their beauty.
Currently all three lead actors are “considering” offers to take part in the drama series. In addition, KBS2 has been in discussions to air the drama series beginning this January in South Korea.
