Teaser trailer and poster added for movie “You Are the Apple of My Eye” starring Yuki Yamada and Asuka Saito. Movie is based on 2006 Taiwanese novel “Na Xie Nian, Wo Men Yi Qi Zhui De Nu Hai” by Giddens Ko which was previously adapted into 2011 Taiwanese movie “You Are the Apple of My Eye.”

First teaser trailer added for upcoming JTBC drama series “Life” starring Lee Dong-Wook, Cho Seung-Woo and Won Jin-A. At the beginning of the teaser trailer a caption in Korean appears that states “The moment 1.5 liter of blood is shed, life disappears. How much time is left for us?” That same question also appears in the teaser poster for the drama series. At the 15 second mark of the teaser trailer a second caption in Korean appears that states “The new medical drama, which has never been seen before, is born.”
“Life” is now scheduled to first air July 23, 2018 in South Korea (takes over JTBC’s Monday and Tuesday 11PM time slot after “Ms. Hammurabi“).
Takeru Satoh is cast in TBS live-action drama series “Blues of Stepmother and Daughter” (literal title) starring Haruka Ayase and Yutaka Takenouchi. Takeru Satoh will play Akira Mugita. He doesn’t have any goals in his life. He makes an impact on the family of Akiko Iwaki (Haruka Ayase) and Ryoichi Miyamoto (Yutaka Takenouchi). The drama series is based on manga “Gibo to Musume no Blues” by Rin Sakurazawa
Also cast for supporting roles in the drama series are Naho Yokomizo, Yosuke Kawamura, Mami Hashimoto, Marin, Yoshie Okuyama, Yosuke Asari, Kazuyuki Asano and Yumi Asou. Naho Yokomizo will play the stepdaughter of Akiko Iwaki. She was cast for the role after going through 6 rounds of auditions.

Main trailer for live-action film “Sensei Kunshu” starring Ryoma Takeuchi and Minami Hamabe. The film is based on manga series “Sensei Kunshu” by Momoko Koda and directed by Sho Tsukikawa. The main trailer features the movie’s theme song which is a cover of The Jackson 5’s “I Want You Back” by Korean girl group Twice.
“Sensei Kunshu” will be released August 1, 2018 in Japan.
Atsuko Maeda is cast in NHK drama special “Gakko e Ikenakatta Watashi ga (Ano Hana) (Koko Sake) wo Kaku made.” The drama special is based on autobiographical novel “Gakko e Ikenakatta Watashi ga 『Ano Hana』 『Koko Sake』 wo Kaku made” by Mari Okada. Mari Okada has previously written screenplays for movies “The Dark Maidens” and “My Teacher.” For the drama special, Atsuko Maeda will play Mari Okada. She grew up as a hikkimori, but she moves to Tokyo and becomes a screenwriter. Also cast in supporting roles are Shunsuke Daito, Kenta Hamano, Mijika Nagai and Yoichi Nukumizu.

Seo Hyun-Jin is cast for a cameo appearance in upcoming tvN drama series “Let’s Eat 3” starring Yoon Doo-Joon and Baek Jin-Hee. Seo Hyun-Jin will reprise her role of Baek Soo-Ji, which she played in “Let’s Eat 2.” Seo Hyun-Jin will film her cameo appearance as the ex-girlfriend of Dae-Young (Yoon Doo-Joon) sometime this June.

Anna Yamada and Shuhei Uesugi are cast in TV Asahi-ABC drama series “Sachiiro no One Room.” The drama series is based on webcomic “Sachiiro no One Room” by Hakuri and will be directed by Ryuichi Honda. The drama series follows a 14-year-old girl who lives a difficult life. She is then kidnapped by a young man.
“Sachiiro no One Room” first airs July 7, 2018 at 2:30AM in Japan.
Lee Je-Hoon has been offered the lead role in new OCN drama series “Priest.” Currently, he is considering the offer. Story for the drama series will feature a mixture of medical and horror (exorcism) genres. The drama series will be directed by Kim Sung-Su (“Save Me“).
“Priest” will first air during the second half of this year in South Korea.
Yoon Gyun-Sang has been offered the lead male role in JTBC drama series “Clean With Passion For Now” co-starring Kim You-Jung. If he accepts, he will play Jang Sun-Gyeol. Currently, Yoon Gyun-Sang is considering the offer.
Actor/singer Ahn Hyo-Seop from boy band “One O One” was first cast to play Jang Sun-Gyeol, but he had to drop out of the drama series due to scheduling issues. Production of “Clean With Passion For Now” was temporarily halted earlier this year when Kim You-Jung experienced health issues and was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. Ahn Hyo-Seop was recently cast for SBS drama series “Thirty But Seventeen,” which airs in July, and, consequently, he cannot take part in “Clean With Passion For Now” when production resumes. “Clean With Passion Now” is tentatively scheduled to resume production August, 2018 with Kim You-Jung back and healthy again.
Yuko Takeuchi is cast for a supporting role in movie “The Travelling Cat Chronicles” starring Sota Fukushi. Movie is based on novel “Tabineko Ripoto” by Hiro Arikawa and directed by Koichiro Miki. For the film, Yuko Takeuchi will play Noriko. Her character is the aunt of Satoru (Sota Fukushi). Satoru goes on a road trip to find a new home for his cat Nana.
“The Travelling Cat Chronicles” will be released October 26, 2018 in Japan.
