Song Joong-Ki, Jang Dong-Gun and Kim Ji-Won cast in tvN drama series “The Chronicles of Aseudal”

Song Joong-Ki, Jang Dong-Gun and Kim Ji-Won are now cast in new tvN drama series “The Chronicles of Aseudal” (literal title). The drama series is scripted by Kim Young-Hyun and Park Sang-Yeon who has worked together in popular drama series “The Great Queen Seondeok,” “Tree With Deep Roots” and “Six Flying Dragons” and directed by Kim Won-Suk (“Misaeng“/”My Mister“). The drama series is set as an epic period drama, but set in the fictional city nation of Aseudal.

“The Chronicles of Aseudal” will first air sometime in the first half of 2019 in South Korea.

Ayaka Miyoshi cast in movie “Dance With Me”

Ayaka Miyoshi is cast for the lead role in comedy film “Dance With Me.” The movie is written and directed by Shinobu Yaguchi (“Waterboys“/”Swing Girls“). The unusual story follows a young woman who is placed under hypnosis. Because of this, she sings and dances whenever she hears music (even a ringtone). She wants to break the hypnosis, but she can’t find the hypnotist. Filming for the movie will begin at the end of July, 2018 and finish September, 2018. Ayaka Miyoshi won the lead role after going through auditions with 500 other participants.

“Dance With Me” will be released sometime next year in Japan.

Filming for movie “Time of Hunting” finishes

Filming for movie “Time of Hunting” (working & literal title) finished July 15, 2018 in Incheon, South Korea and took about 6 months to complete. The last scene filmed was a large demonstration scene. The movie stars popular young actors Lee Je-Hoon,Choi Woo-Sik, Park Jung-Min and Ahn Jae-Hong. The film is also directed by Yoon Sung-Hyun who previously worked with Lee Je-Hoon and Park Jung-Min in award winning film “Bleak Night.”

“Time of Hunting” is currently in post-production. No ETA on when the movie will be released.

Main trailer and second teaser poster for movie “Chiri Tsubaki”

Trailer and 2nd teaser poster added for upcoming movie “Chiri Tsubaki” starring Junichi Okada. Movie is based on novel “Chiri Tsubaki” by Rin Hamuro and directed by award winning cinematographer Daisaku Kimura. The new teaser poster also features Hidetoshi Nishijima,Haru Kuroki, Kumiko Aso and Sosuke Ikematsu. Caption on the teaser poster states in Japanese “Only, For Love.”

“Chiri Tsubaki” will be released September 28, 2018 in Japan.

Dasom cast in KBS2 drama special “Miss Kim’s Mystery”

Former Sistar member Dasom is cast in new KBS2 drama special “Miss Kim’s Mystery.” Dasom will play title character Miss Kim in the drama special. Her character works as a contract worker at a company and keeps a low profile there, but she is a good worker. A new rookie employee always seems to be around her.

“Miss Kim’s Mystery” will air sometime in the second half of this year in South Korea.

Lee Young-Ae to make cameo appearance in JTBC drama series “My ID Is Gangnam Beauty”

Actress Lee Young-Ae is set to make a cameo appearance in upcoming JTBC drama series “My ID Is Gangnam Beauty.” For her cameo appearance, Lee Young-Ae will play a character who graduated from the same university that main character Kang Mi-Rae (Lim Soo-Hyang) attends. Lee Young-Ae’s cameo will occur in episode 1 which airs Friday, July 27, 2018. This is Lee Young-Ae’s first ever cameo appearance in a drama series.
