Atsuko Maeda is cast in movie “Tabi no Owari, Sekai no Hajimari.” The film is directed by Kiyoshi Kurosawa and made to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Uzbekistan. Filming for the movie began April 30, 2018 in Uzbekistan and finished May 29, 2018. Atsuko Maeda previously starred in Kiyoshi Kurosawa directed film “Seventh Code” which was set in Vladivostok, Russia.
“Tabi no Owari, Sekai no Hajimari” will be released sometime next year in Japan.
First script reading for movie “Jurors” (literal title) took place June 29, 2018. The film stars Moon So-Ri as a judge and Park Hyung-Sik as a juror in one of Korea’s first criminal jury trial. Filming for the movie began July 7, 2018. Up until recently, South Korea had bench trials for all criminal cases, before adopting jury trials. Movie “Jurors” is directed by first time feature film director Hong Seung-Wan.
Seo Hyun-Jin & Lee Min-Ki are now cast for the lead roles in JTBC drama series “The Beauty Inside.” The drama series is based on 2015 South Korean movie “The Beauty Inside,” but changes the premise and adds a few twists. Seo Hyun-Jin will play actress Han Se-Kye. Once every month and for about a week, her physical appearance changes completely. Lee Min-Ki will play executive Seo Do-Jae. He is unable to recognize people’s face, but he is able to recognize Han Se-Kye.
“The Beauty Inside” will first air sometime during the second half of this year in South Korea.
Teaser trailer #2 added for movie “Run! T High School Basketball Club” starring Jun Shison, Hayato Sano and Akari Hayami. Movie is based on novel “Hashire! T Ko Basuketto Bu” by Hiroshi Matsuzaki. The theme song for the movie is also revealed in teaser trailer #2 which is “Okuru Kotoba” by GReeeeN.
“Run! T High School Basketball Club” will be released November 3, 2018 in Japan.
First script reading for MBC drama series “Terius Behind Me” took place late June, 2018 at MBC Broadcasting Station in Sangam, South Korea. Lead performers So Ji-Sub and Jung In-Sun and supporting cast members including Son Ho-Jun, Im Se-Mi, Kim Yeo-Jin, Jung Si-A and Kang Ki-Young all attended. So Ji-Sub stated at the script reading “Let’s create a fun atmosphere at the shooting set and stay healthy until the end.”
Song Hye-Kyo and Park Bo-Gum are now cast in new drama series “Boyfriend.” The duo will play lead characters in the drama series. Currently, tvN is in discussions to air the drama series. Story for “Boyfriend” will follow Cha Soo-Hyun (Song Hye-Ko) and Kim Jin-Hyeok (Park Bo-Gum). Cha Soo-Hyun has never lived her life freely due to her politician father. She meets Kim Jin-Hyeok. He is an ordinary young man who values happiness.
First teaser trailer added for SBS drama series “Your Honor” starring Yoon Si-Yoon and Lee Yoo-Young. In the drama series, Yoon Si-Yoon plays twin brothers. One of whom is a judge and the other a criminal.
“Your Honor” first airs July 25, 2018 in South Korea.
Teaser trailer added for thriller film “The Witness” starring Lee Sung-Min. The film follows a man who is a witness to a murder at his apartment complex. “The Witness” is directed by Jo Kyu-Jang (“Mood of the Day“).
“The Witness” will be released this August in South Korea.
