Satoshi Tsumabuki & Mao Inoue cast in TV Asahi drama special “Ranhansha”

Satoshi Tsumabuki and Mao Inoue are cast for lead roles in new TV Asahi drama special “Ranhansha.” The drama special is based on novel “Ranhansha” by Tokuro Nukui and directed by Yuya Ishii. Satoshi Tsumabuki and Yuya Ishii previously team up in movies “Our Family” and “The Vancouver Asahi.” In addition, Satoshi Tsumabuki starred in movie “Gukoroku: Traces of Sin” which is also based on a novel by Tokuro Nukui.

For drama special “Ranhansha,” Satoshi Tsumabuki & Mao Inoue play a married couple. Their young son dies in an accident which causes the parents to look for answers.

“Ranhansha” will air sometime this autumn in Japan.

First script reading for tvN drama series “The Smile Has Left Your Eyes”

First script reading for tvN drama series “The Smile Has Left Your Eyes” (English title), starring Seo In-Guk, Jung So-Min & Park Sung-Woong, took place early July, 2018 at Sangam DDMC, Sangam-Neighbourhood, Seoul. There, main cast members including Seo In-Guk, Jung So-Min, Park Sung-Woong, Seo Eun-Su, Do Sang-Woo, Jang Young-Nam, Hong Bin (‘VIXX’) read through the screenplay in preparation for filming. Drama series is a remake of 2002 Fuji TV drama series “Hundred Million Stars From the Sky” starring Takuya Kimura, Sanma Akashiya & Eri Fukatsu. Story for the drama revolves round a dangerous man and a woman suffering emotionally fall in a fated love.

“The Smile Has Left Your Eyes” first airs September, 2018 in South Korea.

First teaser trailer added for KBS2 drama series “The Ghost Detective” starring Daniel Choi, Park Eun-Bin and Lee Ji-Ah. The teaser trailer features several different narrations during the cut scenes. One woman’s voice asks “If I do it this way … would it hurt?” Another woman’s voice then asks “Find them. Find the person that killed my younger sibling.”

“The Ghost Detective” first airs August 29, 2018 in South Korea.

Keita Machida cast in live-action TBS drama series “Chugakusei Nikki”

Keita Machida is cast for a major supporting character role in upcoming live-action TBS drama series “Chugakusei Nikki” starring Kasumi Arimura. For the drama series, Kasumi Arimura will play Shotaro Kawai. His character has a bright and positive personality. He is the fiance of Hijiri (Kasumi Arimura) and works at a trading company in Osaka. Additional supporting cast members announced today include Makita Sports, Mari Natsuki, Tomochika, Yo Yoshida and Yui Natsukawa.

Drama series “Devilish Joy” to air from September 5, 2018

Drama series “Devilish Joy” is set to air from September 5, 2018 on cable channels MBN and Dramax. “Devilish Joy” will air simultaneously on MBN and Dramax on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 23:00. The drama series stars Choi Jin-Hyuk and Song Ha-Yoon and filming for the drama series is currently ongoing. Meanwhile, above is the first teaser poster for the drama series. Teaser trailer and poster for live-action film “Neko to Jiichan”

Teaser trailer and poster added for live-action film “Neko to Jiichan” starring Shinosuke Tatekawa. The film also features Kou Shibasaki, Tasuku Emoto, Yuko Tanaka and Kaoru Kobayashi in supporting character roles. Movie is based on manga series Neko to Jiichan” by Nekomaki. The film follows a 70-year-old man played by Shinosuke Tatekawa who lives with his cat Tama on a small island.

“Neko to Jiichan” will be released February 22, 2019 in Japan.

Yeo Jin-Goo offered lead role in tvN drama series “Masquerade”

Yeo Jin-Goo has been offered the lead male role in new tvN drama series “Masquerade.” The drama series is a remake of 2012 film “Masquerade” starring Lee Byung-Hun. Currently, Yeo Jin-Goo is considering the offer. If Yeo Jin-Goo accepts, he will play the dual roles of King Gwanghae and Clown Ha-Sun. Although the drama series is a remake of the movie, the drama series will have some significant changes to its screenplay.

“Masquerade” will first air January, 2018 in South Korea.

Actor Kim Ji-Suk is cast for the lead male role in upcoming tvN drama series “Top Star Yoo Baek.” Kim Ji-Suk will play title character Yoo Baek. He is a top star and arrogant. He gets into trouble and travels to a faraway island. He falls in love with a woman there.
