Jung Yu-Mi cast in Netflix drama series “Nurse Teacher An Eun-Young”

Jung Yu-Mi is cast in new Netflix drama series “Nurse Teacher An Eun-Young” (literal title). The drama series will be directed by Lee Kyoung-Mi (“Crush and Blush“) and is based on 2015 novel “Bogungyosa Aneunyoung” by Jung Se-Rang. For the drama series, Jung Yu-Mi will play title character An Eun-Young. She teaches nursing, but she also has a special ability to see ghosts.

“Nurse Teacher An Eun-Young” will be available to stream beginning sometime next year.

Woo Do-Hwan cast in JTBC drama series “My Country”

Woo Do-Hwan is cast in new JTBC drama series “My Country” (literal title) co-starring Yang Se-Jong. For the period drama series, Woo Do-Hwan will play 2nd lead male character Nam Sun-Ho. He is the second son in a prestigious noble family, but because his mother comes from the lowest class he is not recognized as part of their family. He wants to pass the military service exam and become a warrior to escape his situation.

“My Country” will air sometime during the second half of 2019 in South Korea.

First script reading for JTBC drama series “The Light in Your Eyes”

First script reading for JTBC drama series “The Light in Your Eyes” (English title) took place September 26, 2018 at JTBC Building in Sangam, Seoul, South Kore. Main cast members including Han Ji-Min, Nam Joo-Hyuk, Kim Hye-Ja, Son Ho-Jun, Ahn Nae-Sang, Lee Jung-Eun and Kim Ga-Eun all attended. The fantasy-romance themed drama series has Han Ji-Min playing Kim Hye-Ja. She has a positive personality and wants to become an announcer. Veteran actress Kim Hye-Ja will play a character with the same name of Kim Hye-Ja. The character of Kim Hye-Ja is in her 70’s, but her spiritual age is 25. Nam Joo-Hyuk plays Lee Joon-Ha. He works hard to pursue his dream of becoming a reporter, but he suddenly lives his life hopelessly.

“The Light in Your Eyes” first airs  January, 2019 in South Korea.

First script reading for SBS drama series “Hatch”

First script reading for upcoming SBS drama series “Hatch” took place December, 2018 at SBS Ilsan Production Studios in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. The first script reading included main cast members Jung Il-Woo, Kwon Yool, Go Ara, Park Hoon, Lee Kyoung-Young, and Kim Kap-Soo. The script reading took about 5 hours to finish.

“Hatch” first airs February, 2019 in South Korea (takes over SBS’ Monday and Tuesday 10PM time slot after “My Strange Hero“).

Hidetoshi Nishijima cast in TV Asahi drama special “Meitantei Akechi Kogoro”

Hidetoshi Nishijima is cast for the lead role in TV Asahi drama special “Meitantei Akechi Kogoro.” The drama special consists of two episodes. Also cast in supporting roles are Atsushi Ito, Yuriko Ishida, Yukino Kishii and Teruyuki Kagawa. The two episodes will have different stories. For the drama special Hidetoshi Nishijima will play main character Akechi Kogoro.

“Meitantei Akechi Kogoro” airs sometime next year in Japan.

Yang Se-Jong cast in JTBC drama series “My Country”

Yang Se-Jong is cast in new JTBC drama series “My Country” (literal title). For the drama series, Yang Se-Jong will play lead male character Seo Hwi. The drama series is set during the end of the Goryeo period and at the start of Joseon period. Actor Woo Do-Hwan has been offered the second lead male character role of Nam Sun-Ho and he is currently “positively considering” the offer.

“My Country” will air sometime during the second half of 2019 in South Korea.

Joo Jin-Mo cast in SBS drama series “Big Issue”

Joo Jin-Mo is cast in upcoming SBS drama series “Big Issue” co-starring Han Ye-Seul. For drama series “Big Issue,” Joo Jin-Mo will play lead male character Han Seok-Joo. He was once an elite photo journalist for the biggest newspaper in Korea. His career and personal life was ruined because of a photograph. He then meets Ji Soo-Hyun (Han Ye-Seul) and becomes a paparazzi photographer.

“Big Issue” first airs February, 2019 in South Korea (takes over SBS’ Wednesday and Thursday 10PM time slot after “The Last Empress“).

Mai Fukagawa & Kazuya Takahashi cast in TV Tokyo drama series “Nihon Boro Yado Kiko”

Mai Fukagawa & Kazuya Takahashi are cast for lead roles in TV Tokyo drama series “Nihon Boro Yado Kiko.” The drama series is based on 2011 novel “Nihon Boro Yado Kiko” by Akira Kamiakito. The amusing premise has Mai Fukagawa playing 27-year-old Haruka Shinomiya. She inherits a management company after her father suddenly passes away. The company only has a 48-year-old unpopular singer played by Kazuya Takahashi as a client. The two go on a tour to promote the singer.
