Han Ye-Seul cast in SBS drama series “Big Issue”

Han Ye-Seul is now cast for upcoming SBS drama series “Big Issue.” For the drama series, Han Ye-Seul will play lead female character Ji Soo-Hyun. She once dreamed of becoming a reporter seeking out the truth. She does not have those dreams anymore and works as the chief editor of  gossip rag Sunday Tongshin. She seeks out celebrity scandals using her personal connections. She is cold-blooded and heartless. Joo Jin-Mo has been offered the lead male role and he is still considering.

“Big Issue” first airs February, 2019.

Tatsuya Fujiwara cast in TBS drama series “Atarashii Osama”

Tatsuya Fujiwara is cast for the lead role in TBS drama series “Atarashii Osama Season 1.” Also cast in supporting roles are Yosuke Sugino, Rena Takeda, Natsuna Watanabe and Teruyuki Kagawa. The drama series will consist of 8 episodes. Follow up series “Atarashii Osama Season 2” will then stream on Paravi and have 9 episodes. Meanwhile, teaser trailer for “Atarashii Osama Season 1” has been added on AsianWiki.

“Romance is a Bonus Book” set as English title for tvN drama series

According to tvN, “Romance is a Bonus Book” has been set as the official English title for upcoming tvN drama series starring Lee Jong-Suk and Lee Na-Young. The English title is also the literal title for the drama series (“로맨스는 별책부록”). Previously, tvN selected “How To Publish Love” as the English title for the drama, but after further discussions tvN has decided to go with “Romance is a Bonus Book.”

“Romance is a Bonus Book”  will first air January 26, 2019 in South Korea (takes over tvN’s Saturday and Sunday 9PM time slot after “Memories of the Alhambra“).

Lee Gyu-Han & Lee Sun-Bin cast in tvN drama special “Dramatization Has Already Begun”

Lee Gyu-Han and Lee Sun-Bin are cast for lead roles in tvN drama special “Dramatization Has Already Begun” (literal title). In addition, Heo Jeong-Min is cast for a major supporting character role. The drama special is the the 7th installment of tvN’s 2019 Drama Stage series. Lee Sun-Bin will play movie director Hong Hee-Soo. Lee Gyu-Han will play screenwriter Kim Pil-Ki. The two are ex-lovers who begin working together on a new project.

“Dramatization Has Already Begun” will air January 19, 2019 in South Korea.

Teaser trailer and poster added for upcoming live-action film “Kakegurui The Movie” (literal title) starring  Minami Hamabe. Movie is based on manga series “Kakegurui” by Homura Kawamoto & Toru Naomura. Tsutomu Hanabusa directs the film. Teaser trailer also features the movie’s theme song which is “Ichi Ka Bachi Ka” by Jpop-metal group “PassCode.”

“Kakegurui The Movie” will be released May, 2019 in Japan.

Teaser trailer and poster for Amazon drama series “Magi: Tensho Keno Shonen Shisetsu”

Teaser trailer and poster added for Amazon Prime Video drama series “Magi: Tensho Keno Shonen Shisetsu” starring  Shuhei NomuraYuki MorinagaKai Inowaki and  Atsushi Ogata. The drama series is based on nonfiction novel “Kuatoru Ragasshi: Tensho Shonen Shisetsu to Sekai Teikoku ” by Midori Wakakuwa. Story for the drama series is based on the true story of four boys who were selected to travel from Japan to meet the Pope at the Vatican during the Sengoku period.

“Magi: Tensho Keno Shonen Shisetsu” will be available to stream from January 17, 2019.

English title for JTBC drama series “The Light in Your Eyes”

Official English title has been updated for upcoming JTBC drama series “The Light in Your Eyes” starring Han Ji-Min and  Nam Joo-Hyuk. The drama series’ previously went under the literal title of “Dazzling” (“Nooni Booshige”), but has been given the official English title of “The Light in Your Eyes” by JTBC. The drama series follows two women who are named Kim Hye-Ja. A younger Kim Hye-Ja played by Han Ji-Min switches bodies with a 70-year-old Kim Hye-Ha played by Kim Hye-Ja. Nam Joo-Hyuk will play Lee Joon-Ha who becomes involved with Kim Hye-Ja.

“The Light in Your Eyes” is tentatively scheduled to first air January, 2019 in South Korea.

Teaser trailer for movie “Just Only Love”

Teaser trailer added for upcoming movie “Just Only Love” starring Yukino Kishii and Ryo Narita. Movie is based on 2003 novel “Ai ga Nanda” by Mitsuyo Kakuta and directed by  Rikiya Imaizumi. The film had its world premiere at the 31st Tokyo International Film Festival. The teaser has Yukino Kishii providing narration in Japanese at the 18 second mark and asking “I wonder why I am still not Mamoru Tanaka’s lover?” The film tells a one-sided love story between Teruko Yamada (Yukino Kishii) and Mamoru Tanaka (Ryo Narita).

Release date for “Just Only Love” is now set for April, 2019 in Japan.
