Shinobu Terajima cast in WOWOW drama series “Poison Daughter, Holy Mother”

Shinobu Terajima is cast in WOWOW drama series “Poison Daughter, Holy Mother.” The drama series is an omnibus and based on short story collection “Poison Daughter, Holy Mother” by Kanae Minato (“Confessions“/”Ferris Wheel at Night“). Shinobu Terajima will appear in two episodes which have the titles of “Poison Daughter” and “Holy Mother.” The drama series consists of 6 episodes and the other four episodes are titled “Tsumibukaki Onna,” “Best Friend,” “Yasashii Hito” and “My Dearest.”

“Poison Daughter, Holy Mother” will air sometime this summer in Japan.

Jang Hyuk cast in JTBC drama series “My Country”

Jang Hyuk is cast in upcoming JTBC drama series “My Country” (literal title) co-starring Yang Se-Jong, Seol Hyun and Woo Do-Hwan. For the drama series, Jang Hyuk will play Lee Bang-Won. His character tries to help his father bring down Goryeo and begin the Joseon era. After his father becomes the King, he doesn’t place Lee Bang-Won as the Crown Prince. Nevertheless, Lee Bang-Won does not give up on his ambitions to take the throne.

“My Country” first airs sometime during the second half of this year in South Korea.

Park Ha-Sun & Lee Sang-Yeob cast in Channel A drama series “Love Affairs in the Afternoon”

Park Ha-Sun and Lee Sang-Yeob are cast in Channel A drama series “Love Affairs in the Afternoon.” The drama series is a remake of 2014 Fuji TV drama series “Hirugao: Love Affairs in the Afternoon” starring Aya Ueto and Takumi Saito. Park Ha-Sun will play housewife Son Ji-Eun and Lee Sang-Yeob will play biology teacher Yoon Jung-Woo.

“Love Affairs in the Afternoon” will first air sometime during the first half of this year in South Korea.

First script reading for JTBC drama series “Welcome to Waikiki Season 2”

First script reading for JTBC drama series “Welcome to Waikiki Season 2” took place January 21, 2019 at JTBC Building in Sangam, Seoul, South Korea. Main cast members for season 2 including Lee Yi-Kyung, Kim Sun-Ho, Shin Hyun-Soo, Mun Ka-Young, Ahn So-Hee and Kim Ye-Won attended. The drama series is a sequel to popular 2018 JTBC drama series “Welcome to Waikiki.”

“Welcome to Waikiki Season 2” will first air March, 2019 in South Korea.

Sho Hirano & Kanna Hashimoto cast in live-action film “Kaguya-sama: Love Is War”

Sho Hirano (King & Prince) and Kanna Hashimoto are cast in live-action film “Kaguya-sama: Love Is War.” Movie is based on manga series “Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Tensaitachi no Renai Zunosen” by Aka Akasaka and directed by Hayato Kawai (“Prince of Legend“). For the film, Sho Hirano will play lead male character Miyuki Shirogane and Kanna Hashimoto will play lead female character Kaguya Shinomiya. They are high school students who try to see which one will confess their feelings for the other person first. Filming for the movie begins March, 2019 and finish April, 2019. Filming will take place in the suburbs of Tokyo

Kaguya-sama: Love Is War” will be released September 6, 2019 in Japan.

Teaser poster and more castings announced for movie “Taro the Fool”

Here’s the first teaser poster for upcoming movie “Taro the Fool” starring newcomer Yosihi. The poster has two additional persons besides Yoishi and they are newly announced cast members Masaki Suda and Taiga. The film is scripted and directed by Tatsushi Omori. Yoishi was first cast for the film after taking part in auditions involving 300 other applicants. Prior to this, 16-year-old Yoishi worked as a model.

“Taro the Fool” will be released sometime this autumn in Japan.
