Marie Iitoyo is cast in horror film “Shirai-san.” The film is written and directed by Otsuichi (“Tokyo Novel“/”My Pretend Girlfriend“). In the film, Marie Iitoyo plays college student Mizuki. She tries to uncover the mystery of people dying via heart attacks and ruptured eyeballs.
“Shirai-san” will be released January, 2020 in Japan.
Sung Hoon and Han Bo-Reum are cast in new MBN-Dramax drama series “Level Up.” The romantic-comedy drama series is set in the video game publishing world. Sung-Hoon will play An Dan-Te. He begins work as the CEO of video game company to save it from bankruptcy. Han Bo-Reum will play Shin Yeon-Hwa. She works at the video game company.
“Level Up” first airs July 10, 2019 in South Korea.
Main trailer for movie “Don’t Cry, Mr. Ogre” (English title) starring Shinichi Tsutsumi and Yuya Yagira. Movie is based on short story “Sensei” by Kiyoshi Shigematsu and directed by Atsushi Kaneshige (“Kiseki: Sobito of That Day“). The baseball themed film follows a retired high school coach and his desire to help one of his terminally ill former students with unfinished business.

Riho Yoshioka is cast for the lead role in movie “Blind Witness” (“Mienai Mokugekisha”). Movie is a remake of 2011 South Korean film “Blind” starring Kim Ha-Neul and Yoo Seung-Ho. For “Blind Witness,” Riho Yoshioka will play Natsume Hamanaka. She lost her eyesight and her younger brother in a car accident on the night she graduated from the police university. A few years later, she attempts to find a serial kidnapper. Movie is directed by Junichi Mori (“Laundry“/”Little Forest: Summer & Autumn“).
“Blind Witness” will be released September 20, 2019 in Japan.
Main trailer and poster added for movie “Diner” starring Tatsuya Fujiwara. The film is based on novel “Diner” by Yumeaki Hirayama (“Cho: Kowai Hanashi“) and directed by Mika Ninagawa. Meanwhile, the trailer reveals that Tina Tamashiro has been cast to play Kanako Oba. She begins to work at the mysterious diner where the movie is set and her character holds a key to the story. The drama series is based on manga series “Kansatsui Asagao” by Masahito Kagawa & illustrated by Naomi Kimura. Story for the drama series will have Juri Ueno playing medical examiner Asagao Maki. Saburo Tokito will play her father, who works as a veteran detective.
