Lee Min-Ho is cast in new fantasy-romance drama series “The King: Monarch of Eternity” (literal title). This is Lee Min-Ho’s first acting role since he was discharged from the South Korean military on April 25, 2019 (he enlisted May 12, 2017). The drama series will also reunite Lee Min-Ho with screenwriter Kim Eun-Sook. They previously worked together on 2013 SBS drama series “The Heirs.” Kim Eun-Sook also wrote the screenplays for popular drama series like “Descendants of the Sun,” “Goblin” and “Mr. Sunshine.” Story for “The King: Monarch of Eternity” will have Lee Min-Ho playing two characters in parallel worlds. He will play Korean Emperor Lee Gon and Detective Jung Tae-Eul. Filming for “The King: Monarch of Eternity” begins the second half of this year.
“The King: Monarch of Eternity” will first air sometime during the first half of 2020 in South Korea. Exact network which the drama series will air on has yet to be decided.
