Kang Ji-Young cast in live-action film “Dosukoi! Sukehira”

Kang Ji-Young (ex-Kara member) is cast in live-action film “Dosukoi! Sukehira.” The film is based on manga series “Dosukoi! Sukehira” by Junko Tamura & Tomohide Kiyoshi. This is the third adaptation of Tomohide Kiyoshi’s work that Kang Ji-Young has starred in following “Reon” and “Watashino Jinsei Nanoni.” Movie is directed by Ryo Miyawaki. In the film, Kang Ji-Young will play a woman who is overweight, but an accident causes her to wake up with a ” beautiful” figure. Kang Ji-Young received special makeup to play the overweight part and it took about 3 hours of prep work.

“Dosukoi! Sukehira” will be released November, 2019 in Japan.

English subtitled trailer for movie “Little Nights, Little Love”

English subtitled trailer added for upcoming romance film “Little Nights, Little Love” starring Haruma Miura and Mikako Tabe. The film is based on 2014 novel “Eine Kleine Nachtmusik” by Kotaro Isaka (“Golden Slumber“) and directed by Rikiya Imaizumi (“Just Only Love“). The film weaves several stories over a 10 year period with Haruma Miura and Mikako Tabe playing a married couple central to the story.

“Little Nights, Little Love” is now set for release September 20, 2019 in Japan.

Cho Jung-Seok offered lead role in tvN drama series “Wise Doctor Life”

Cho Jung-Seok has been offered the lead role in tvN drama series “Wise Doctor Life” (literal & working title). Currently, Cho Jung-Seok is “positively considering” his offer. If Cho Jung-Seok accepts, he will play a doctor who is a main character in the drama series. “Wise Doctor Life” is tentatively scheduled to start airing in the second half of this year in South Korea on Friday nights. The drama series is also scheduled to have a total of 3 seasons. “Wise Doctor Life” will be directed by Shin Won-Ho and scripted by Lee Woo-Jung. Director Shin Won-Ho and screenwriter Lee Woo-Jung previously worked together on tvN drama series “Reply 1997,” “Reply 1994” and “Reply 1988.”

First photos for MBC drama series “Rookie Historian Goo Hae-Ryung”

Here’s the first set of photos for upcoming MBC drama series “Rookie Historian Goo Hae-Ryung” (literal title) starring Shin Se-Kyung and Cha Eun-Woo (‘Astro’). The photos shows Shin Se-Kyung as Goo Hae-Ryung. Her (fictional) character is scripted as the first female historian in Joseon. Meanwhile, Cha Eun-Woo is dressed as Lee Rim. His character is a prince without any experience in love.

Teaser trailers for tvN drama series “Designated Survivor: 60 Days”

First two teaser trailers added for upcoming tvN drama series “Designated Survivor: 60 Days” starring Ji Jin-Hee. The drama series is a remake of U.S. television show “Designated Survivor.” The teaser trailers shows a burning building and, at the 10 second mark, Ji Jin-Hee’s voice states “The House of Parliament collapsed.” Meanwhile, below are the first still images of Ji Jin-Hee in the drama series. He plays Park Moo-Jin who holds a Minister of Environment position in the Korean government. After the building explosion, he becomes the default South Korean president.

“Designated Survivor: 60 Days” is now scheduled to first air July 1, 2019 in South Korea (takes over tvN’s Monday and Tuesday 9:30 PM time slot after “Abyss“).

Teaser trailer for OCN drama series “Watcher”

First teaser trailer added for OCN drama series “Watcher” starring Han Suk-Kyu, Seo Kang-Joon and Kim Hyun-Joo. All three lead performers play members of a police internal affairs team. The first teaser trailer begins with captions in Korean that states “Han Suk-Kyu. Seo Kang-Joon. Kim Hyun-Joo. Korea’s first internal inspection thriller.” At the 12 second mark, Han Suk-Kyu’s voice teases “Internal inspection thriller. Watcher.” Meanwhile, above is the first still images of Han Suk-Kyu in the drama series. He plays Do Chi-Gwang, who is the leader of a police internal affairs investigation team.

Nao Omori cast in TV Asahi drama series “Sign”

Nao Omori is cast for the lead role in TV Asahi drama series “Sign.” The drama series is a remake 2011 SBS drama series “Sign” starring Park Shin-Yang and Kim A-Joong. The Japanese remake of “Sign” is the third remake of a South Korean drama series that will air this summer along with “Voice” and “Two Weeks.” Also cast in “Sign” are Marie Iitoyo, Yasuko Matsuyuki, Mahiro Takasugi and Toru Nakamura.

“Sign” will first air July, 2019 in Japan (takes over TV Asahi’s Thursday 9PM time slot after “Emergency Interrogation Room.”).

English title for tvN drama series “Catch The Ghost”

Official English title is now set for upcoming tvN drama series “Catch The Ghost” starring Moon Geun-Young and Kim Sun-Ho. The literal title is a bit open ended as it could be “Catch Yoo-Ryung” or “Catch The Ghost.” The main character played by Moon Geun-Young is named Yoo-Ryung, which also means ghost in Korean. In the drama series, Yoo-Ryung works as a detective and she is also trying to find her missing sister.

“Catch The Ghost” first airs sometime in the second half of this year in South Korea.
