Ji Chang-Wook & Kim You-Jung cast in Lifetime drama series “Convenience Store Saet-Byeol”

Ji Chang-Wook and Kim You-Jung are cast in Lifetime drama series “Convenience Store Saet-Byeol” (literal title). The drama series is based on webcomic “Pyeonuijeom Saetbyeoli” by Hwalhwasan. Lifetime is a cable channel in South Korea and affiliated with the U.S. cable channel Lifetime and its parent company A&E Networks. For the drama series. Ji Chang-Wook will play Choi Dae-Hyun. He owns a convenience store after leaving his prior job at big company. Kim You-Jung will play university student Jung Saet-Byeol. She begins working at Choi Dae-Hyun’s convenience store.

“Convenience Store Saet-Byeol” will first air autumn, 2020 in South Korea. The drama series will air on multiple channels in addition to Lifetime.

Lee Sin-Young is currently appearing in popular tvN drama series “Crash Landing on You” as a young North Korean soldier and Kim So-Hye (formerly of idol group I.O.I.) recently starred in movie “Moonlit Winter.” Drama series “Friend Contract” is based on the webcomic “Gyeyakwoojung” by Kwon Laad.

Plot synopsis by AsianWiki: Park Chan-Hong (Lee Sin-Young) is an ordinary high school student. He has talent for writing and he gets pressured by his parents about his studies. Park Chan-Hong doesn’t have any specific dreams. He is friends with Eom Se-Yoon (Kim So-Hye), who attends the same high school. She is popular at school. Meanwhile, Heo Don-Hyeok (Shin Seung-Ho) is classmates with Park Chan-Hong. Heo Don-Hyeok is not interested in studying and he works to pay for his living expenses. One day, Heo Don-Hyeok saves Park Chan-Hong from a school bully. To pay for his rent, Heo Don-Hyeok asks to borrow 300,000 won ($270 USD) from Park Chan-Hong. Park Chan-Hong lends him the money, but that money was supposed to pay for his private institute tuition fee. After school, Park Chan-Hong now doesn’t have a place to go. He begins to spend time with Heo Don-Hyeok.

“Friend Contract” first airs sometime during the first half of this year in South Korea.

Gou Ayano & Keiko Kitagawa are cast in movie “The Legacy of Dr. Death: Black File.” The film is based on 2017 novel “Doctor Death no Isan” by Shichiri Nakayama (“Goodbye Debussy“) and directed by Yoshihiro Fukagawa (“Restaurant From The Sky“). Filming for “The Legacy of Dr. Death: Black File” took place from July, 2019 to August, 2019.

Plot synopsis by AsianWiki: A series of suspicious death cases take place. All the victims were terminal patients. Detective Hayato Inukai (Gou Ayano) and Detective Asuka Takachiho (Keiko Kitagawa) investigate the case. Through their investigation, they learn of a person known as “Dr. Death.” He performs euthanasia by request. Meanwhile, Detective Hayato Inukai’s daughter Sayaka requests the help of Dr. Death. Sayaka suffers from a severe kidney disease.

Ryohei Otani & Rena Takeda are cast in WOWOW drama series “Isekai Izakaya Nobu.” The drama series is based on web novel “Isekai Izakaya Nobu” by Natsuya Semikawa. The fantasy themed drama series is a set at the bar Nobu in Kyoto, but its entrance is connected to an alternate world.
