Satomi Ishihara cast in Fuji TV live-action drama series “Unsung Cinderella”

Satomi Ishihara is cast for the lead role in Fuji TV live-action drama series “Unsung Cinderella.” The drama series is based on manga series “Unsung Cinderella” by Mamare Arai and directed by Ryo Tanaka (“The Confidence Man JP“). For the drama series, Satomi Ishihara will play earnest pharmacist Midori Aoi.

Plot synopsis by AsianWiki: Midori Aoi (Satomi Ishihara) has worked as a pharmacist at a hospital for the past 8 years. She holds the belief as a pharmacist that medicine is related to a patients’ daily life and, because of this, pharmacists needs to know about their patients. Consequently, Midori Aoi spends more time with her patients than other pharmacists. She receives criticism that she should work more efficiently, but she never wavers from her belief.

Teaser trailer added for movie “Caution, Hazardous Wife: The Movie” starring Haruka Ayase & Hidetoshi Nishijima. The film is a sequel to 2017 NTV drama series “Caution, Hazardous Wife” with Haruka Ayase & Hidetoshi Nishijima. Story for the film revolves around a wife and husband who both hide secrets from each other about their past as secret agents. The teaser around the 22 second mark has the two main characters pointing guns at each other and Haruka Ayase says “Liar” and Hidetoshi Nishijima replies “You’re just the same.”

Ep.1 air date for tvN drama series “A Piece of Your Mind”

Ep.1 air date has been set for upcoming tvN drama series “A Piece of Your Mind” (English title) starring Jung Hae-In & Chae Soo-Bin. The drama series, previously went under the literal title of “Half of a Half,” will first air March 23, 2020 in South Korea. “A Piece of Your Mind” will air after the conclusion of “The Cursed” on Mondays and Tuesdays, but into a new 9PM time slot (rather than 9:30 PM time slot for the “The Cursed”). Story for “A Piece of Your Mind” will depict the romance between AI programmer Ha Won (Jung Hae-In) and music recording engineer Han Seo-Woo (Chae Soo-Bin).

Kim Yo-Han cast in KBS2 drama series “School 2020”

Kim Yo-Han (former member of ‘X1’) is cast for the lead male role in KBS2 drama series “School 2020.” This is his first acting role. Before Kim Yo-Han took part in TV reality show “Produce X 101” and become an idol member with X1, he was a backup athlete on the national taekwondo team. He is also a 2 times winner of the National Youth Sports Festival in taekwondo. His taekwondo background is pertinent to the drama series, because he plays a character who is a former taekwondo athlete and then enrolls in a vocational school. Filming for “School 2020” will begin March, 2020.

Park Hae-Jin cast in MBC drama series “Old School Intern”

Park Hae-Jin is cast in MBC drama series “Old School Intern” (literal title). Actress Han Ji-Eun is currently considering an offer to play the lead female role and veteran actor Kim Eung-Soo is considering a major supporting character role. For the drama series, Park Hae-Jin will play Ka Yeol-Chan. He is an ambitious and successful executive at a ramen company. He gets paired with a senior intern, who was his old boss at his first job. Park Hae-Jin is currently starring in KBS2 drama series “Forest.”

Jin Se-Yun cast in KBS2 drama series “Born Again”

Jin Se-Yun is cast in KBS2 drama series “Born Again” co-starring Chang Ki-Yong & Lee Soo-Hyuk. Like the two male leads, Jin Se-Yun will play two different characters. She will play Jung Ha-Eun in the 1980’s and Jung Sa-Bin in the present day. Jung Ha-Eun suffers from dilated cardiomyopathy (enlarged heart) and runs a bookstore. Jung Sa-Bin in the present day is an archaeologist.

Mirai Moriyama, Takumi Kitamura & Ryo Katsuji cast in movie “Underdog”

Mirai Moriyama, Takumi Kitamura & Ryo Katsuji are cast in boxing film “Underdog.” The movie is scripted by Shin Adachi and directed by Masaharu Take. The duo of screenwriter Shin Adachi and director Masaharu Take has collaborated on several films and drama series, most notably in this case with “100 Yen Love,” which is also a boxing film. Filming for “Underdog” began January 6, 2020 and its currently still ongoing. This is the first time Mirai Moriyama has played a boxer and he took boxing lessons for more than 6 months prior to filming of the movie.
