Haruna Kawaguchi & Ren Meguro cast in Fuji TV drama “Silent”

Haruna Kawaguchi and Ren Meguro are cast in Fuji TV drama series “Silent.” The drama series features an original screenplay by newcomer Miku Ubukata, who won the 33rd Fuji TV Young Scenario Award. The drama series “Silent” is a romance story between two young adults who fell in love as high school students and shared a love for music. As young adults, the man has now almost lost his hearing.

“Silent” will first air October, 2022 in Japan (takes over Fuji TV’s Thursday 10PM time slot after “Love Dissonance“).

Main trailer for tvN drama “Blind”

Main trailer added for tvN drama series “Blind” starring TaecYeon, Ha Seok-Jin, & Jung Eun-Ji. The drama series revolves around a serial murderer case, with jury members as victims. The main trailer begins with TaecYeon stating “Mad dog… a mad dog is coming.” The main trailer also has captions that state (0:08) “Sunken memory,” (0:12) “Truth which is emerging,” (0:18) “After the trial,” (0:25) “Real murder has begun.”

Sadao Abe, Aya Ueto, & Yuta Tamamori cast in movie “Shylock’s Children”

Sadao Abe, Aya Ueto, & Yuta Tamamori are cast in movie “Shylock’s Children.” The film is based on 2006 novel “Shylock no Kodomotachi” by Jun Ikeido (“Naoki Hanzawa“). TV station WOWOW will also air drama series “Shylock’s Children” this October, which is their own adaptation of the Jun Ikeido novel and not directly related to the movie version. Also cast in supporting roles for the movie are Toshiro YanagibaTetta SugimotoRyuta SatoIsao HashizumeAkira Emoto, and Kuranosuke Sasaki.

“Shylock’s Children” will be released February 17, 2023 in Japan.

Teaser trailer #3 added for tvN drama series “Mental Coach Jegal” starring Jung Woo & Lee Yoo-Mi. The drama series has Jung Woo playing title character Jegal Gil. He was once a national athlete and now returns to the sport as mental coach. Narration in teaser trailer #3 has Jegal Gil stating around the 10 second mark “No matter what, you have to protect yourself first.”

Koji Yakusho & Ryo Yoshizawa cast in movie “Familiar”

Koji Yakusho & Ryo Yoshizawa are cast in movie “Familiar.” Movie is directed by Izuru Narushima (“Solomon’s Perjury“). Also cast for supporting roles are Lucas Sagae, Fadile Waked, MiyaviYutaka Matsushige , Koichi SatoTakeo Nakahara and Shigeru Muroi. The film is centered around Koji Yakusho who plays Seiji Kamiya. He works as a pottery craftsman. Ryo Yoshizawa will play his son Gaku Kamiya. He wants to quit his job as an engineer for a multi-national company and follow in his father’s footsteps.

“Familiar” will be released January 6, 2023 in Japan.

Choi Woo-Sik, Son Suk-Ku, & Lee Hee-Jun are cast in Netflix drama series “Murderer o Nangam” (literal title). The drama series is based on webcomic “SalinjaㅇNangam” by Ggomabi & Nomabi. For “Murderer o Nangam,” Choi Woo-Sik will play a college student named Lee Tang. He accidentally kills someone who turns out to be a serial killer. Son Suk-Ku will play Detective Jang Nan-Gam and Lee Hee-Jun will play Ex-Detective Song Chon.

“Murderer o Nangam” will stream on Netflix sometime next year.

First teaser trailer added for KakaoTV drama series “Once Upon a Small Town” starring Choo Yeong-Woo, Joy, & Baek Sung-Chul. The drama series is based on web novel “Eojjeodaga Jeonwonilgi” by Park Ha-Min. The first teaser introduces the three main characters of Han Ji-Yool (Choo Yeong-Woo), Police Officer An Ja-Young (Joy), and Lee Sang-Hyun (Baek Sung-Chul). Narration in the teaser trailer goes (0:08) Choo Yeong-Woo “I run an animal hospital in Seoul,” (0:10) Baek Sung-Chul “I farm peach diligently,” and (0:11) Joy “I deal with a lot of complaints in Heedong Village.”

Sho Hirano cast in TBS drama “Kurosagi”

Sho Hirano (King & Prince) is cast for the lead role in TBS live-action drama series “Kurosagi.” The drama series is based on manga series “Kurosagi” by Takeshi Natsuhara. TBS previously adapted the manga into 2006 drama series “The Black Swindler” and a movie version “The Black Swindler” was released in 2008. For “Kurosagi,” Sho Hirano will play Koshiro Kurosaki. His family was a victim of a swindler when he was a child and, as a adult, he now takes revenge on swindlers.

“Kurosagi” will first air  October, 2022 in Japan (takes over TBS’ Friday 10 PM time slot after “Ishiko and Haneo: You’re Suing Me?“).
