Main poster & release date set for movie “Next Sohee”

Main poster and February, 2023 release date set for movie “Next Sohee” starring Bae Doo-Na & Kim Si-Eun. The main poster features Bae Doo-Na as Detective Yoo-Jin. She appears to be looking for someone among people at a call center. The movie had its world premiere as the closing film for the Critics’ Week parallel section of the Cannes Film Festival. Caption on the movie poster quotes the Cannes Film Festival that stated “Shocking, but couldn’t take eyes off from the work.”

First teaser poster for tvN drama series “Our Blooming Youth” (English title) starring Park Hyung-Sik & Jeon So-Nee. The drama series, set in the Joseon era, revolves around the Crown Prince (Park Hyung-Sik) and a woman (Jeon So-Nee) falsely accused of murdering her family. The teaser poster shows Park Hyung-Sik as Crown Prince Lee Hwan standing in a dark room, but walking towards the light. Caption on the teaser poster states “Who should I trust and who should I suspect?”

Ep.1 trailer added for TVING drama series “Island” starring Kim Nam-Gil & Lee Da-Hee. The trailer begins with an anonymous voice stating “To stop the demons trying to climb out of this hole from Hell, it was blocked by 46 dolhareubangs that were made out of its own children.” “Dolhareubangs” are large statues found around Jeju Island that are made from volcanic rocks.

Park Hyung-Sik & Jeon So-Nee cast in tvN drama “Youth, Climb the Barrier”

Park Hyung-Sik & Jeon So-Nee are cast in tvN drama series “Youth, Climb the Barrier” (literal title). The drama series is set in the Joseon era. Park Hyung-Sik will play Lee Hwan. He is the crown prince, but also a lonely man. Jeon So-Nee will play Min Jae-Yi. She is a genius, but gets framed for murdering her family. They somehow meet and fall in love.

“Youth, Climb the Barrier” will first air February 6, 2023 in South Korea (takes over tvN’s Monday & Tuesday 10PM time slot after “Missing: The Other Side 2”).

Park Hae-Jin, Park Sung-Woong, & Lim Ji-Yeon cast in SBS drama “National Death Penalty Vote”

Park Hae-Jin, Park Sung-Woong, & Lim Ji-Yeon are cast in SBS drama series “National Death Penalty Vote” (literal title). The drama series is based on webcomic “Kookminsahyungtopyo” by Eom Se-Yoon & Jung Yi-Poom and directed by Park Shin-Woo (“Encounter“). Setup for the drama series has a mysterious person named Dog Mask polling citizens via text messages after a criminal avoids punishment by the law. If that person receives more than 50% votes in favor of the death penalty, Dog Mask kills that person. Park Hae-Jin, Park Sung-Woong, and Lim Ji-Yeon will play characters that become involved in the case to find Dog Mask.

“National Death Penalty Vote” will be released sometime next year in South Korea.
