Trailer and poster for Disney+ drama “Shadow Detective 2”

Trailer and poster added for Disney+ drama series “Shadow Detective 2” starring Lee Sung-Min, Kyung Soo-Jin, and Lee Hak-Joo. The drama series is a sequel to “Shadow Detective” which premiered on Disney+ in 2022. The trailer has Lee Sung-Min as Detective Kim Taek-Rok stating around the 22 second mark “Friend is not one. I must find the way to win this brutal game” and then around 1:21 minute mark “I will catch you no matter what.” Captions in the trailer states (0:17) “Mysterious explosion accident,” (0:34) “Mysterious murder case,” (0:56) “I can’t trust anyone,” (1:08) “Toward a hidden enemy,” (1:13) “Counterattack begins.”

Trailer and poster for movie “The Forbidden Play”

Trailer and poster added for movie “The Forbidden Play” starring Kanna Hashimoto and Daiki Shigeoka. The movie is based on 2019 novel “Kinjirareta Asobi” by Karma Shimizu and directed by Hideo Nakata (“Sadako“). “The Forbidden Play” is a horror film, centered around a family who deals with the sudden death of the mother. The son buries the mother’s finger in their yard and begins to chant a strange spell in hopes of bringing her back to life.

“The Forbidden Play” will be released September 8, 2023 in Japan.

Ji Chang-Wook and Shin Hye-Sun cast in JTBC drama “Welcome to Samdalri”

Ji Chang-Wook and Shin Hye-Sun are cast in JTBC drama series “Welcome to Samdalri” (literal title). The drama series features an original screenplay by Kwon Hye-Joo (“Hi Bye Mama“) and directed by Cha Young-Hoon (“Forecasting Love and Weather“). Story for “Welcome to Samdalri” is set in the town of Samdalri on Jeju Island. Ji Chang-Wook will play Jo Yong-Pil. He works as a weather forecaster and was born and raised in Samdalri. Shin Hye-Sun will play popular photographer Jo Sam-Dal. She returns to her hometown of Samdalri and meets Jo Yong-Pil again.

“Welcome to Samdalri” will first air sometime during the second half of this year in South Korea.

Teaser trailer and poster added for movie “Smugglers” starring Kim Hye-Soo, Yum Jung-Ah, & Zo In-Sung. Movie is directed by Ryoo Seung-Wan (“Escape from Mogadishu“). The maritime crime-action film, set in the 1970’s, follows a team of smugglers who uses the sea to make money. The teaser trailer begins with Kim Hye-Soo stating “Even if the customs people smell and chase us, we’ll fish our stuff out and get out of there.” Captions in the teaser trailer states (0:20) “Throw it,” (0:28) “Fish it out,” (0:32) “Deceive.”

Ju Ji-Hoon & Choo Yeong-Woo cast in Netflix drama “The Trauma Code”

Ju Ji-Hoon & Choo Yeong-Woo cast in Netflix drama series “The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call.” Also cast in major supporting character roles are Yoon Kyung-Ho, Ha-Young, and Jeong Jae-Kwang. The medical themed drama series is based on web novel “Joongjeunguesangcenter: Golden Hour” by Hansanyiga and directed by Lee Do-Yoon. Director Lee Do-Yoon and Ju Ji-Hoon previously worked together in 2014 movie “Confession.” In the drama series, Ju Ji-Hoon will play Baek Gang-Hyeok. He is a genius surgeon and leads the severe trauma team at a university hospital. His first pupil is Yang Jae-Won played by Choo Yeong-Woo.

Release date for “The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call” has not yet been announced.

Teaser poster and August 3rd release date set for Netflix distributed movie “Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead” starring Eiji Akaso, Mai Shiraishi, & Shuntaro Yanagi. The live-action film is based on manga series “Zom 100: Zombie ni Naru made ni Shitai 100 no Koto” by Haro Aso. The film revolves around Akira Tendo (Eiji Akaso), who hates his job so much that when he sees his town overrun by zombies, he shouts out for joy that he doesn’t have to go to work. He makes a bucket list of 100 things to do with his friends.

“Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead” will be available to stream  August 3, 2023.

Kim Woo-Bin & Bae Suzy are cast in fantasy romantic-comedy drama series “Everything Will Come True” (literal title). The two leads last worked together in 2016 KBS2 drama series “Uncontrollably Fond.” The drama series “Everything Will Come True” is scripted by Kim Eun-Sook (“The Glory“) and directed by Lee Byeong-Hun (“Be Melodramatic“). In “Everything Will Come True,” Kim Woo-Bin will play a genie, who is highly emotional, and Bae Suzy will play a young woman that is granted 3 wishes by the genie.

“Everything Will Come True” will air sometime next year in South Korea.
